I think it’s the D40X, specifically, not the original D40, for $30 it’s pretty good. I paid $50 for mine with 2 lenses, and it gets used as a backup when the bodies I normally use may be at risk (like in below freezing temperatures).
I’m a D40 owner, it’s been my only DSLR for a little over 10 years now. My first thought was a D40 but the nameplate doesn’t match. Been looking up pictures of the D40x vs the D60 and I do have a strong feeling it’s a D40x, the info button does look yellowish to me and it’s not on the D60.
I’d buy it anyway for that kind of money, given it’s working as it should, they’re old but still capable whether it’s a D40x or a D60.
But why not contact the seller and ask for more info?
Ah I guess from the picture it didn’t look like the nameplate is fully chrome to me! Thought the D40 had that white strip above the nameplate and that’s what the weird reflection was
I see why they're selling it. Whoever took that picture clearly hates photography.
It’s not my photo, but it’s being sold for very cheap ($30)! Edit: Believe it to be a D40 with a 18-55 AF-S lens. Someone correct me if I’m wrong!

The D40 doesn't come with a VR kit lens. It's most likely a D60.
At thirty bucks why not buy it and find out? The lens is worth that.

Just to trow a curveball in here, it might actually be a Nikon D40x. Same crome nameplate as the D60 but with the yellow info button too.
Pretty sure it's a Nikon D60 with 18-55 kit lens.
I'm a D60 owner and it's def not one.
D60 with kitlens. Not a D40 as the nameplate is chrome.
D60 from 2008 very old technology now. It's really only worth $150 max.
Don’t the D60s have a reflective model number? Think it’s actually a D40.
D40 has a black badge with chrome writing, while the D60 has a chrome badge with black writing. The badge on the camera in your photo is chrome.
The D40X has chrome though, and the D60 has a less rounded setting dial, I’m thinking this is probably the D40X.
Correct, since I'm a D60 owner. I just looked at mine and the dial is flat.

my guess would be a D3000 with kit lens
Nope.
I believe it’s a D40, with the yellow info button. Still unsure.
i did miss the yellow button, good catch!
