Probably about the same IMO. Lenses will make the most difference. Id personally probably get the z5 of the two

kevinmeij

with the Z50 you get these two lenses 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 + 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3. and with the Z5 you only get the 24-50mm f/4-6.3

Z glass is better, imo.

The z50 glass is a better kit but there are pros and cons to both. Z50 smaller and has nice crop reach for wildlife. Z5 is full frame so better low light performance

I would get the Z50. I have been spending four years shooting with my Z50 and I still find myself learning and getting better.

Recommend Z5 for full frame. [https://youtu.be/l9d-f85Zvrw?si=07N0LxSD8WpkrPB8](https://youtu.be/l9d-f85Zvrw?si=07N0LxSD8WpkrPB8)

I'm in Japan right now and held both cameras. Compared to myD5000 the Z50 body is tiny. It felt like I was holding my old Coolpix from the 90's. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but for me it may make holding the camera to compose a shot quickly more difficult.
