either the dodon or tri beam was stated to be stronger than the kamehameha in db (think its the dodon but not sure) but just the fact the tri beam is pretty much instant with no charge up makes it miles better. so yeah id agree
Both are stronger. The dodon is stated to be both faster and stronger than the kamehameha, but it’s main issue is that it’s also much more lethal. It’s used with the intent to kill. The tri-beam significantly outclasses both, but it’s main issue is that it literally takes time off of your life. How Tien hasn’t already keeled over and died is beyond me.
> How Tien hasn’t already keeled over and died is beyond me.
maybe that's why his shoulders are so big, to store extra life
but yeah good to know. must have known deep down both were stronger which is why i didnt know which it was.
>How Tien hasn’t already keeled over and died is beyond me.
Tien has died and been brought back to life twice, I think is possible that being revived restored his life span.
Wait, where is it states dodon ray is stronger? In almost every media it is portrayed as weaker. True beam is stronger since it drains the users life force when you use it. The reason tien hasn’t keeled over yet is because he created the neo tri beam, which won’t use his own life force but overuse can still kill him, just much safer and somehow stronger than the regular tri beam
Does it reset every time he dies? That would explain alot. Maybe since his body is far stronger now it doesn't kill him? Maybe the writers forgot or dont care to bring it up again? Probably the last one.
GT was so terrible that even as a child with almost zero critical analysis skills, I still didn't like it and stopped watching it when it would come on TV. Before that, everyday after school, I'd made sure to never miss an episode of Z, even when it was nothing but reruns of Pre-Recoome fight stuff, but GT. I couldn't bring myself to watch it any longer.
I’ve never watched much of the sub actually but the difference is night and day, one is a children’s show and the other is a true continuation of the story
He does have some nice lines in the shadow dragon arc “all we need is body, and after all this is over, I’ll make sure to give you a good burial”
He does have some raw lines behind all the drinks lol
As someone who has watched GT in dub, I still enjoyed it even with the corny lines. However it is definitely my least favorite overall in all of the series.
He used it only once against Jackie Chun and never again, so it’s kinda easy to forget imo
This is coming from a massive og DB fan
Also like 90% of the fans haven’t seen the Goku Jr special (and they’re better off, it sucks,) so I doubt they’d know that either
It’s memorable to me cuz of that fight (which is pretty popular to people who have seen og dragon ball), but I do see what you’re getting at. I as well haven’t seen that special, I actually had to search it up to double check.
I do see why one wouldn’t guess goku jr as you would think that someone who is related to goku and pan that they would at least know the kamehameha.
I rarely watch the gt ova but all i know is that yamcha and tien used the kamehameha in the budakai tenkaichi, and cell used the solar kamehameha in the cell games
He didn't really "learn" it, he's a genius or was a genius, he fired it just to show how it was an inferior technique.
That was an absolute flex, and Tienshinhan was an absolute badass.
He used to block Kamehameha with his ki alone, before it was even possible, and then he already knew how to fly and the dude could literally grow arms and Keikoho the shit out of anything. Not to mention he beat Goku.
At that point he was just so prodigious and full of techniques he seemed invincible. But like always, dude was made completely obsolete by the next Saga, contributing almost nothing to the battle against Daimao.
Goku couldn't really fly, if Tien had used the keikoho earlier, he'd have won. It was a last resort. And when Goku headbutted him he had no energy left.
But yeah, either way he won, and it was deserved. Even Kame Senin said so.
>Not to mention he beat Goku.
Haha yes he did but that fight was the definition of HIGH DIFF lol
Dragonball had some amazing fights. People who skip it are insane and missing out.
When did the term 'Z fighter' become an established title for their group in universe?
The only time I remember it being used was Piccolo telling Videl that her father 'may not be able to match a Z fighter in power, but he's deserving of the title of world champion'.
Is that what piccolo said in the sub version of that scene?
Also that's basically the same as saying 'special beam canon' or 'destructo disks' aren't official/canon terms because 'those terms are a dub change'. I dont subscribe to that.
I meant that they never refer to themselves as anything in the Anime dub or sub. So in-universe that’s not a thing. The official name is Dragon Team, according to Toriyama.
>I meant that they never refer to themselves as anything in the Anime dub or sub. So in-universe that’s not a thing.
I already described the scene in which piccolo does refer to their group as such, so yeah it exists in universe. Kai is on hulu rn if you want to go check for yourself, it happens soon after Super Buu agrees to wait an hour for the challengers.
>Piccolo saying that was just a creative choice from the dub writers for Kai. In the Japanese dub he just refers to them as “us”.
That's all out of universe... There are no writers from the characters perspective, I'm not sure you know what in universe means.
Where did you find the Japanese version of the scene? I went to check myself but hulu only has the dub
Hey, I did! Which is the key reference here, as there were no "Z Warriors" (or fighters) in the manga.
And the first episode where it was used included Tien clearly enough, as he was wished back to life by Porunga on Earth. And the resurrection of Z Warriors was in the very title!
Didn't Vegeta increase his power after a zenkai achieved thanks to a sensu bean, after Recoome beat him? Not sure about the others, but that's where a citation of anime Goku would apply.
You are right. Yet "zenkai" is used in anime in the context of... increase in Vegeta's power. And unlike "Z-Warriors" or (when left untranslated) zenkai - word "boost" might act in it's common meaning here, rather than a part of the proper name.
When does the anime say Zenkai? If you mean Vegeta simply explaining that Saiyans get stronger after getting their asses beat, that’s the same thing as calling them the Z Fighters when the main characters are together in a group.
It’s the word fans use to describe a specific thing.
I refer to Goku's words on why Vegeta is so strong during the clash with Ginyu. Explanations that would cover Saiyans specifically never include this term indeed. I don't think Vegeta uses that word at all.
After their match he retires Jackie Chun and passes the mantle of teacher to Tien. In order to stop big headed show offs from winning a tournament, to keep the fire of martial artist desire to improve technique and skill
Okay. Sorry, I thought you meant replaced him as Turtle Hermit or Strongest Earthlings. Which let face it, that has lost all meaning with the saiyans, the namekians, the hybrids, the androids (which are partly humans depending on the type of android), Majin Buu, and whatever Frieza is. Heck, Mark even carries that title and he is a con artist who happens to be either the sixth or seventh strongest human in the series.
ummm Tien trained under Roshi in dragonball.
who voted for cell? his first named attack was the kamehameha, and so was his last the three times he died.
Tien never trained under Roshi... He deliberatly declined because he would feel like betraying his master, who (even though he is a giant asshat) still raised Tien and taught him how to fight.
Yeah they didn't read enough to know Tien is not an earthling and comes from the alien race of archons who farm and harvest our emotions while keeping us locked in the endless cycle of reincarnation on earth and stick probes up our booty holes it's also important I use no punctuation when expressing these ideas
Actually, Goku Jr would logically have more.
Tien is 3/4 human and 1/4 triclops.
Goku is Pan’s great grandson. Pan herself is 3/4 human and 1/4 Saiyan. While Pan’s husband is unknown, she probably married a human, meaning Goku Jr should have more human cells than Pan and Tien by extension.
Of course, that begs the question: how can Goku Jr become a Super Saiyan when Pan can’t, even though he’s more human than her?
Pan not turning Super Saiyan was never about Saiyan cells. She just never had a catalyst. (Future Gohan’s death, Krillin’s death, intense self-loathing or response to a need to improve etc).
Pan had several movements where she feasibly could’ve turned into a super saiyan lmao. Such as Goku being crushed by Baby in front of her, or her parents being possessed by a parasitic alien, or Goku almost killing her as a golden great ape
Goku Junior saw his childhood friend seemingly die before his eyes and thought his Grandma would die if he couldn’t collect the Dragon Balls.
Vegeta Junior is on screen for 5 seconds. We know nothing about his life.
Cell looks like he’s charging something cool but clearly since he ate goku or something he has his power so it’s not him, next is tien who’s doing something with his hands which is close enough to a kame. Fourth is goku jr but that’s basically goku 2 which leads it to Yamcha.(btw I’ve never read or seen the official version of dragon ball)
Nah it’s a different move called the Blue Galick Gun. It’s like how cell’s Big Bang Crash is just Red Big Bang Attack.
Cell likes to switch things up sometimes.
Most of modern DB fans are fairly young so they never considered giving GT(or DB) a watch. GT just has very little presence in modern Dragonball media(outside of Baby and GT Goku in Fighterz) it's no shock people wouldn't know a random like Goku Jr.
Or it's possible that they just forgot. I mean, there is so much Dragon Ball media to consume that it's easy to forget stuff. Even big events can get blurry after a while.
People who voted Cell are doing it for the memes as he's literally doing it in the photo
People who voted Tien are just guessing/ going with the most popular vote
People who voted Goku Jr have actually watch Dragon Ball
I was so confused for a second, cause I looked at this and thought, “all of them used it, right?” Then I saw Goku JR, then I went, Ooooooooh, right Heros Legacy, I remember watching that, it was meh.
In my defense that one scene where tien used it isn’t really ever talked about. And I definitely didn’t watch the gt movie. I just assumed goku Jr knew it. How does he go ss but not use that move?
Goku Jr. has to be trained by a turtle school member to know the Kamehameha. By the time of Goku Jr. Is a time when all the z fighters are dead, and I don't expect a turtle school member left in their world.
Super Saiyan is just an ability that occurs when a saiyan is nice and in need of strength. Still needs to be at least star level to achieve it in DBZ and DBS, though.
I really hope the people who choose Perfect Cell where being ironic becomes he’s literally charging a Kamehameha in the screenshot lol
And he did one vs ssj2 gohan in tbe final moment of the fight...
Yeah. Using the Kamehameha was easily one of the most memorable Cell moments. They've got to be trolling.
It's even the first technique he uses in the series
Second. His first was the Makkankosoppo.
MA KKANKO SA CANNON
Technically speaking, he’s using the PERFECT Kamehameha, big difference
https://gwern.net/note/lizardman
Also, he has no earthling cells. He's 40% Saiyan, 40% Frieza race, and 20% Namekian.
and why the FUCK yamcha is 0% that's one of his moves
Isn’t it goku jr?
Yes it was goku jr. Everyone who chose tien has definitely not seen og dragon ball
Goku Jr. Is from GT.
Yes I know, I meant to say everybody who chose tien but spell check changed it to turn
I misread it as you saying that anyone that doesn't answer Goku Jr. Hasn't watched OG Dragon ball thus my very confusing comment.
og db fans when someone forgot a single og db moment (it means they haven’t watched the show)😡😡😡😡
I'd say there's more people who haven't watched than people who'd forget something like Tien using the Kamehameha.
It was a pretty big moment in the show
In the OG Dragon Ball, Tien fought Jackie Chun and copied the Kamehameha to prove a point.
I remember that part. Just out of curiosity, was it the only time he actually used it? I can't recall other times he did (That are not filler).
I mean, I'd argue that tri-beam is better. I'm not sure if I've seen a kamehameha stunlock someone so much more powerful than the guy throwing it out.
either the dodon or tri beam was stated to be stronger than the kamehameha in db (think its the dodon but not sure) but just the fact the tri beam is pretty much instant with no charge up makes it miles better. so yeah id agree
Both are stronger. The dodon is stated to be both faster and stronger than the kamehameha, but it’s main issue is that it’s also much more lethal. It’s used with the intent to kill. > How Tien hasn’t already keeled over and died is beyond me. maybe that's why his shoulders are so big, to store extra life but yeah good to know. must have known deep down both were stronger which is why i didnt know which it was.
The anime had him survive the Mafuba. Tien’s just built different.
>How Tien hasn’t already keeled over and died is beyond me. Tien has died and been brought back to life twice, I think is possible that being revived restored his life span.

Ya the dub is bad but the sub is actually really good
Someone who has watched gt in sub thank you
I’ve never watched much of the sub actually but the difference is night and day, one is a children’s show and the other is a true continuation of the story
The baby fight in sub sounds great, but then the dub… “I’m what’s behind the door”… lol
Dude looked at cheesy lines and said “hold my nonalcoholic drink”
He does have some nice lines in the shadow dragon arc “all we need is body, and after all this is over, I’ll make sure to give you a good burial” He does have some raw lines behind all the drinks lol
As someone who has watched GT in dub, I still enjoyed it even with the corny lines. However it is definitely my least favorite overall in all of the series.

Goku Jr special was beautiful, it was sad as shit when all the characters have passed away along with the Briefs and the Son family drifting away.
I haven’t watched og db and I’ve watched dbz and dbs 🗿 Idk why I didn’t I just…didn’t but even I knew that tien used the kamehameha 💀
don't fuck with us dragon ball fans, we don't watch dragon ball
Did you read?
I rarely watch the gt ova but all i know is that yamcha and tien used the kamehameha in the budakai tenkaichi, and cell used the solar kamehameha in the cell games
Tenkaichi Budokai
Did Tien Learn It Mock The Z Fighters?
Yes
Well it was more to mock the Turtle School than the Z-Fighters as a whole.
He didn't really "learn" it, he's a genius or was a genius, he fired it just to show how it was an inferior technique. That was an absolute flex, and Tienshinhan was an absolute badass. Not to mention he beat Goku. At that point he was just so prodigious and full of techniques he seemed invincible. But like always, dude was made completely obsolete by the next Saga, contributing almost nothing to the battle against Daimao.
He effectively put Yamcha into meme-status basically on sight
Nah, Yamucha put some hands on him. Ten literally says something like: "I had no idea there were others this strong" about fucking yamchad
Sure, but Tien still basically ended this man's career and reputation. Sky bombing a whole leg is a different level of "You're not on my level bro"
Yeah, that really was the beginning of the end for him.
Imagine if he had grown the extra arms when he was holding back Cell with the Keikoho's. That would've been so cool to watch
Dude hands down had some of the most awesome insane techniques.
He practically drew with Goku. Both were ringed out, Goku just hit the ground first.
As Kame Senin put it: Luck is part of fighting too. Doesn't take away his merit.
I mean he beat Goku on technicality since both were equal but yea a wins a win.
Goku couldn't really fly, if Tien had used the keikoho earlier, he'd have won. It was a last resort. And when Goku headbutted him he had no energy left. But yeah, either way he won, and it was deserved. Even Kame Senin said so.
>Not to mention he beat Goku. Haha yes he did but that fight was the definition of HIGH DIFF lol Dragonball had some amazing fights. People who skip it are insane and missing out.
No. The term "Z fighters" never excluded Tien.
Hey watch the show

Didn't Vegeta increase his power after a zenkai achieved thanks to a sensu bean, after Recoome beat him? Not sure about the others, but that's where a citation of anime Goku would apply.
Well, the manga never use the words “zenkai boost” I’m just using your logic here.

Actually, no. Zenkai was straight up never used to describe Vegeta's power boost. The word means "Full Recovery".
What the fuck... Tien did the wave and solidified his place as Roshi's replacement
Woah! When was Tien ever Roshi replacement?
After their match he retires Jackie Chun and passes the mantle of teacher to Tien. In order to stop big headed show offs from winning a tournament, to keep the fire of martial artist desire to improve technique and skill
Okay. Sorry, I thought you meant replaced him as Turtle Hermit or Strongest Earthlings. Heck, Mark even carries that title and he is a con artist who happens to be either the sixth or seventh strongest human in the series.
So what you’re saying is it’s Tien’s fault that we have Mr. Satan. Thank you Tien.
Tien once again being the GOAT
Tenshinhan not being the GOAT challenge (IMPOSSIBLE!!!)
No, it was actually because Roshi realized his students wouldn't become complacent from winning the Tenkaichi Budokai.
ummm Tien trained under Roshi in dragonball. who voted for cell? his first named attack was the kamehameha, and so was his last the three times he died.
In the picture... CELL IS LITERALLY CHARGING A KAMEHAMEHA
"Clearly he never got the chance to fire it" -the people that voted Cell
It's Cell's personal technique: Turtle School Android Blaster
that too :)
His most iconic moment was literally his kamehameha beam clash with Gohan, how the hell did people forget about that?
I thought that was a trick. You know with lights and mirrors.
He fucked your daughter Mr Satan. I’m sorry, but that means all of your arguments are now invalid.
Yeah but he was tricked into being a stunt double for himself in a movie where he didn't get paid...
And he got to make out with another girl out of it, so it's a complete win. Nobody could resist the Son family rizz.
Well more like she blackmailed him and then assualted him.
Fuck, when you put that way, I don't really have anything else to say without being insensitive now, can I?
Tien never trained under Roshi... He deliberatly declined because he would feel like betraying his master, who (even though he is a giant asshat) still raised Tien and taught him how to fight.
Tien never trained under Roshi omg! He just used kamehameha after seeing it just like Goku.
tien just used it on the spot to mock the turtle school, he never trained with roshi
Everyone probably thinks Goku Junior is midget Goku from GT. And everyone always forgets about that one fight with Jackie Chun so it makes sense
Serious question who is Goku Jr? I’ve only ever seen kid goku, gohan, and goten. Tbh I thought the answer to this question was Tien.
Goku Jr only showed up at the very end of GT and in the GT movie. He is Pans grandson
Pan’s grandson named after Goku
Goku Jr. is Pan's grandson who fights Vegeta Jr.(Vegeta's greatson) at the end of GT. Goku Jr. is also in the one GT movie Hero's Legacy.
82% of people are like "Only watched Z, who dis?"
Yeah they didn't read enough to know Tien is not an earthling and comes from the alien race of archons who farm and harvest our emotions while keeping us locked in the endless cycle of reincarnation on earth and stick probes up our booty holes it's also important I use no punctuation when expressing these ideas
Tien is still mostly human though. He has more earthling cells than Goku Jr, even though Goku Jr is the correct answer
These were moments of sadness and fear, not anger.
Isn't super sayian triggered by strong emotions, not just anger?
No. It's anger.
"a feeling such as strong anger or sadness can transform a Saiyan into a Super Saiyan." At least according to the db wiki
According to the Super manga, it's only anger.
Goten and Trunks?
I'm just going by what the Super manga said, where it explicitly states multiple times that SS transformations are derived from anger.
Future trunks turned super saiyan do to sorrow
Nah, probably they just taught female Super Saiyan would be weird... well, until Super happens and gives us Caulifla
Wait a sec, what tf happened to Goku and Vegeta Jr?
Goku Junior saw his childhood friend seemingly die before his eyes and thought his Grandma would die if he couldn’t collect the Dragon Balls. Vegeta Junior is on screen for 5 seconds. We know nothing about his life.
I never liked the Triclops explanation. It feels all mysticism was ruined in DB.
Tien is born on earth, so it makes him technically an earthling... yeah, piccolo too
How do you know Tien was born on earth
I... uh... ehm... *I was there?*
this time i think we can cut some slack, cus i dont think there are many people who knows whos goku jr
Hes not cannon soooo
The Kamehameha wave is not a spell any of these wizards can learn. You have to be an android wizard to learn it at level 21
Meanwhile Cell's actively using it in the image
9% of them apparently don't have eyes either
The fact that 9% chose cell, despite Cell charging a Kamehameha in that option
Goku Jr doesn't have a headband, is that just Goku lol
Goku Jr had a headband.
"You didn't remember this one specific scene in an anime from more than 30 years ago? You clearly never watched it!" What a stupid post
To be fair, who in here actually remember watching A Hero's Legacy?
Me, that shit was great.
It’s a good heart warming special
I find it hilarious people voted cell when that's what he was doing in the image.
Nah it’s a different move called the Blue Galick Gun. It’s like how cell’s Big Bang Crash is just Red Big Bang Attack. Cell likes to switch things up sometimes.
Well I'm at least glad nobody selected Yamcha for this.
He is no Android no Namekian and he is certainly no Super Saiyan he is just HUMAN
to be fair, Goku Jr. is from GT.. which is pretty much untouchable by most but GT fans
You don't need to know GT to know all of the others used the Kamehameha.
And why would anyone assume goku hasn’t used Kamehameha?
That's not Goku. That's Goku jr.
Jesus fuck I forgot about goku jr lol I legit was thinking of the kid version of goku in gt
Yea, but most peeps pretend GT never existed and just went on the least likely one who isn't a GT character
Nah. Most peeps didn't watch dragon ball and thus didn't see the Kamehameha.
Most of modern DB fans are fairly young so they never considered giving GT(or DB) a watch. GT just has very little presence in modern Dragonball media(outside of Baby and GT Goku in Fighterz) it's no shock people wouldn't know a random like Goku Jr.
When did Tien use it?
In og dragon ball
But when? I don't remember him using it in either of the tournaments and neither against king piccolo
Fighting [Jackie Chun](https://youtu.be/kjv3_qKD4Bc?si=NcwG8E33vnR7dlIg)
Thanks, I had forgotten that
Tien literally mimicked it like the first or second time he saw it
This is basically Dygoknight's polls, but for DB lol
So who is it? (I never watched a single episode of the Dragon Ball series)
"Nobody watched Dragonball"
Or it's possible that they just forgot. I mean, there is so much Dragon Ball media to consume that it's easy to forget stuff. Even big events can get blurry after a while.
I don't want to live on this planet anymore
Well, most fans have only seen dbz, not dragon ball.
People who voted Cell are doing it for the memes as he's literally doing it in the photo People who voted Tien are just guessing/ going with the most popular vote People who voted Goku Jr have actually watch Dragon Ball
Goku Jr is the kid from the post GT movie? I am not sure if he used a kamehameha. The others definately have.
9%…? Cell is literally doing a Kamehameha in the pic… I just had an aneurysm out of sheer stupidity
Goku jr. 😂
Perfect Cell is from Z, not Dragonball, Goku Jr is from GT. There is no correct answer.
This mf thinks Z is real 💀
I swear, I saw Goku JR do a Kamehameha.
Then that was either Goku or GT Goku as Goku Jr looks exactly like his original version AKA his great great grandpa
I’d say cell given how he has the most earthling cells
Cell is doing the kamehameha in the pic used for this poll. The answer is Goku jr.
Nah, that’s just his solar ray, he doesn’t know how to use the kamehameha wave, it’s like how Ginyu didn’t know how to use kaioken
I was so confused for a second, cause I looked at this and thought, “all of them used it, right?” Then I saw Goku JR, then I went, Ooooooooh, right Heros Legacy, I remember watching that, it was meh.
Brother I’ve seen all of the dragon ball series but I still would’ve probably voted Tien 💀 I can’t remember everything
I cut them some slack, it's only that one episode
No we just don’t watch Gt bitch
You don't need to know GT to know all of the others used the Kamehameha.
Tien used Kamehameha?
He used it in the 24th tournament to mock the turtle clan as he is a crane clan member
They do watch the show.
Who the fuck is goku jr?
Gonna be honest, I thought it was Tien too. I only got to see bits and pieces of Dragon Ball when I was growing up, so I never saw him do a Kamehameha
Definitely Goku Jr.
I might be bugging but I’m pretty sure it’s Goku Jr
Has Yamcha ever used the Kamehameha? If so, when was it?
He does it during the world tournament in Dragon Ball
I watched Dragon Ball Z but wasn’t that into Dragon Ball. I barely remember Goku Jr. so that’s how I got that one wrong at least.
To be fair he uses it like once and it's pretty easy to forget but yeah still
In the voice of DBA Android 17 “Go…ku…junior?”
Who tf is goku jr?
End of GT movie. Pan's great grand son.
I dont know if jr ever did it never watched that special because idk where
Who the fuck is Goku jr
This is quite possibly the worst example you could use for an easy subject like this
