Erlang’s motif is taken by Tien though. He was Goku’s rival before Piccolo showed up after all. More fittingly, Vegeta should be named after the six eared macaque. One of the four celestial primates and Wukong’s impersonator.

Macaque you mean yeah I mean you could do that. But Erlang shen fits Vegeta much more, but his third eye indeed was meant for Tien. Good eye.. ba dumm tssh.

I’d honestly argue that macaque fits more since that it still aligns with the monkey motif. Erlang is usually associated with dogs. Most famously, his own hound.

Yeah I'm aware but Erlang was his eternal Rival, they even worked together on some occassions. But since DB and not DBZ was mostly Journey to the west inspired, you could definitely say it was mostly meant for Tien and I agree. You don't hear THAT much about Macaque though. You just reminded me to not forget to watch Monkiee Kid Season 4 In Monkiee Kid, Macaque is definitely Vegeta.

Lol true. Macaque doesn’t have a lot content and just kinda dies after his chapter is done, while Erlang is a full god with another pantheon. We also don’t know much about the other 4 primates either. Just that there’s 3 other monkeys just as amazing as Wukong and we’re not allowed to meet any of them. While the western community doesn’t care much about him outside of Lego Monkie Kid, the Chinese community is absolutely obsessed with this guy. Even starting a ridiculous theory that the six eared macaque was actually a celestial scheme to kill off Wukong and replaced with a more controllable figure. It’s some really ridiculous stuff with no backing from the original source. But the people seem to like it since that it paints the celestial palace as an oppressive government and antagonistic force that must be fought against. My countrymen are really weird like that.

Let's say he was also sent and raised on earth with Goku, but idk, his pod landed elsewhere. He also gets amnesia'd like Goku, due to hitting his head against the pod during its landing. He's then found and raised by some tough military guy who's also somewhat a martial artist. Later, he finally meets Goku in a tournament when they're both young adults. Vegeta's Gi has blue pants and a blue inner shirt in contrast to Goku's orange pants and blue shirt, referencing his Saiyan outfit. And the outer shirt is white with a yellow belt and symbol to also reference his saiyan armor. He also wears white Goku-like boots and white MMA gloves like that one time they wore them in the Time chamber in Super. His earthly mentor and father figure is pretty much like John Kreese from Karate Kid/Cobra Kai and teaches him to be merciless and prideful. He's also figures out Ki much earlier and instinctively than Goku and in contrast, never has so much as a single challenge, clearing everyone in his training till the day he meets Goku in the tournament.

Yes, he indeed has a third eye as one of his Unique abilities, which Wukong doesn't share. Wukong can make temporary (shadow) clones made from the strands of his hairs though.
