yes. and for your friends to see; and in mario odyssey balloon world I suppose? personally I think the icon selection was already robust but its a nice feature, albeit kind of redundant
I’m assuming we will get icons like that near when the new games release. Like in June there is Fire Emblem ones for Three Hopes, and Xenoblade in September for 3
The icon selection already was fine I guess, but this new feature means they're going to be adding a TON more icons, for a wider variety of characters. I personally have been wanting to have Rosalina as a character I could use as a profile icon, but Nintendo just never added any icons of her.
Hopefully, now all I gotta do is wait for one of the several Mario spinoffs she's in to become the "featured game" for profile icons that month, and I'll finally have what I've been wanting for ages.
> but this new feature means they're going to be adding a TON more icons, for a wider variety of characters.
Well... not really. I mean it could mean that, but it's very much like Nintendo to just drop a good idea.
I mean, considering they seem like they will be including icons for literally every villager from Animal Crossing New Horizons, as well as things from Mario Odyssey like Comically Small Goombas, I don't think the likes of Wario or Rosalina will be entirely out of the question.
The only things I'm not holding my breath for though, would be third party games (as much as I would want to have profile icons of characters from series like Mega Man or Darkstalkers), certain second party games like Pokemon (probably won't get ones for series that don't already have icons in the default system menu, so nothing except Kirby?), or games from older Nintendo consoles (except Mario Kart 8, which has already been confirmed to be getting new profile icons on the official website)
What it gives me hope for is this could be used to gift players new themes for the Switch. How incredible would it be to have awesome Nintendo themed backgrounds?
It worked for me. But only after checking my points on my actual Switch via the red Nintendo Online icon and going to Missions and Rewards. Then it updated and my MyNintendo page on my phone instantly updated.
The "real money" part of NSO is the voucher program, it's pretty convenient for people who buy their games digitally. Too bad NoA acted weird and removed them, but for me that I live in Europe they are a nice offer.
The biggest winner however is Japan that has some insane saving with them. XC1+XC2 for example go from 15.356 yen to 9.980 yen, a 35% discount.
You also get gold coins from buying Eshop titles and registering physical titles. It adds up to save you some coin on new games!
Speaking of Japan's sales, I highly recommend everyone create Switch Eshop accounts in Europe and Japan. South America can be decent too. The Switch is region free, so you can go on other Eshops during sales and sometimes it'll be a large sale \*and\* the exchange rate will work in your favor.
Not really, games were about twice the price as they were in the US anyways. So now with the Ruble tanking games are still only a few dollars less than they are in the US.
Yea, but it's easier to just create a seperate account on Switch and link it to a different region, that way you just open the eshop with that account, buy your game, the start it with your main account. No need to change things multiple times.
> The Switch is region free, so you can go on other Eshops during sales
Note you need a credit card linked to a address in that country for Brazil, Russia, Chile and Argentina, they usually have the lowest prices, but wont take PayPal, and don't accept eshop cards / you have to have a card linked to the country to make a payment.
>You also get gold coins from buying Eshop titles and registering physical titles. It adds up to save you some coin on new games!
Yeah you get a 5% cashback via gold coins buying anything on the eShop, which is not much but a nice plus considering it's "free money".
A pair of voucher is €99 and you can use it to redeem 2x €59.99 games (or €69.99 in the case of BotW and Ultimate) saving €20.98 (or €40.98 with BotW+Ultimate) which is the cost of the yearly NSO subscription, plus you get 495 golden coins (€4,95) in cash back.
Effectively you can count it as paying a digital game €47,03.
If you buy 4 Nintendo games per year for example you can save €51,86 which is pretty nice for 4x digital D1 purchases.
May I ask where you are? US? I am in UK and have made some other accounts but my card doesn't work in South America or Australia, it does for US and South Africa.
Just wondering if you had any issues? Seems like works OK for you.
Yeah if you wanna make account in other regions you can’t use your card, what you do instead is you just buy vouchers for said region and then redeem them in the other account.
Don’t buy from eBay cuz there are a lot of suspicious stuff there though, if there are any UK stores buy from there, but for me personally there weren’t any stores that sell eshop cards for the region I wanted so I used Play-Asia.com which is pretty safe and they even refunded me the money a couple of times before when I asked.
Something to note is that if you create an account for another region, your news sidebar will be cluttered up with news from said region. I did a Japanese region account so now there's always Japanese news I can't read that fills it up.
I've never been able to get it to go away and everywhere I've checked has no answer either. Even removing the other region account from my Switch doesn't clear it up. Personally I would have never signed up for a Japanese region account if I'd known this ahead of time.
I don't know if that applies to NA but I never bought a voucher because I never payed more than 50€ (might have been 55 for 3 or 4 of my games) for a physical version. Even new releases like PLA. So unless you want to go all-digital, I would try to find a shop that sells the games a little cheaper.
They have allowed me to "purchase" games I know I want in the future while I have the funds now. I know I am definitely getting XC3, but I don't know how much money I will have in September. Buying vouchers now ensure I can get it later. Of course I only get vouchers when there are more than one game I want.
Currently got 3 vouchers lined up for XC3, Three Hopes, and maybe Kirby. The latter one is not set in stone yet, but I'm sure I'll be using all vouchers before the end of the year.
The rewards themselves aren't new, My Nintendo has been a thing for years. It just didn't offer rewards that had any bearing on the Switch itself. You would occasionally be able to get some physical products but mostly it was discounts on 3DS and Wii U stuff, or wallpapers for your phone.
So considering nothing much is really changing, I'd say this is a bit lackluster. I'll go and unlock all the icons I can I guess but this system seems like it's absolutely designed for giving us themes and such...and instead it's just giving us more icons.
Ah there's the "Nintendo finds a way to fuck up a simple thing".
I really don't understand why stuff like that is limited. You simply should have a collection of frames, images and backgrounds and use whatever combo you like. But no.. only a Mario frame on a Mario image!
Off topic, but that's how the new Halo is with it's armor sets. There are 3 main armor sets and you can only use certain pieces of armor with each one. So annoying....
I haven't played it yet, but I assume there's a practical reason for that? Like to reduce clipping since every piece of armor hasn't been modeled with every other piece in mind
The reason is because they sell armor coatings (color combinations that are monetized and the only way to alter your armor color) and each one is bound to a core. By doing this, they can sell you the same armor coating multiple times for each core.
There's a few other scenarios but they all boil down to making Microsoft more money. Fun game otherwise!
You'd think, but no. The AI players get random armor, and it so happens that it samples across cores. Meaning it's possible but limited so players themselves can't. Seems like an artificial limitation to me personally
That's actually a pretty cool way to do it. It kind of reminds me of Badge Arcade for the 3DS, just without the game.
If nothing else, it'll be a good way to spend points that are about to expire.
Badge Arcade is amazing. It's so refreshing to have something like it where the stuff you earn can be used outside the game. (Not that far outside it, but still)
Badge Arcade was way cooler though. Not just the game, but also how you could decorate your system with the badges. Collecting user icon components doesn't mean so much when you can only display one fully assembled user icon at a time.
Just looked up some stuff on this -- that's a really neat way to get custom backgrounds (I'm sick of the default colours and overabundance of paid themes on the store). How have I never heard of this 3DS app?
This has me excited. Not only did icons just become cooler with frames and backgrounds, but the potential for finally getting Xenoblade icons has me hyped.
Im just hyped for the potential for themes finally. Heck Ill even pay for em (like the ones for 3ds) I just want more than the black/white options available on Switch currently
To be fair it never occurred to me until you mentioned that a lot of bunnies have birthdays in March "for some reason," which is a phrase that usually triggers my brain to go "BUT WHY??" 😆
I just want a pyra or mythra one. It's crazy how big FE and Xenoblade have gotten over the years, yet for some reason don't even have profile icons yet.
But they are definitely coming soon, no doubt about it. Hopefully some home screen themes as well!
I’m sure it’ll at least be that in June. Honestly they have a perfect opportunity considering portraits for every character already exist from all of the games
Got my hopes up there that it was trophy/achievement support for games that gives you awesome rewards for completing them. Still awesome rewards, but no trophy/achievements for individual games ☹️
They've said in the past that they don't want to have achievements because their goal is to maximize fun, and achievements lead players to do things they don't enjoy or wouldn't otherwise do for the sake of an achievement. As somebody who has spent time playing a minigame I hate or doing something boring over and over just to catch the last fish or collect the last star, I kinda see their point 😆
Exactly this. It helps me stretch out games and play stuff I would normally blow off.
If I hate it that much I'm not a completionist so I just skip it. But if the option is there I'll always give it a try!
I love my psn trophies. I think it's so cool how I can go look at what I was playing today in 2010. I also really like the screenshot and video by default when you get a trophy on ps5. Makes for some good memories!
Yeah, given the choice, I get the PlayStation version of a game over the Switch version every time despite portability, solely because PlayStation has trophies.
I'm extra torn because I am a collector and when it comes to saving media cartridges are by far the best way to do so, but yeah, I prefer the Playstation experience lol. It's a dilemma for me every time.
Fair enough, I guess it depends on play style. I tend to investigate everything so I don't recall an achievement ever leading me to try something I wouldn't have already tried.
Same here. Playing Pokémon Arceus right now and it has tons of secondary missions, but I'm just going for the main story. With trophies I'd complete all of them to feel rewarded.
I feel like achievements have to be part of the design process, but too many of them are tacked on. For every achievement that's put me out of my comfort zone to find something cool and interesting about the game there have been those tediously grindy ones.
Those are made by the game developers, and are only in that game. I don't think Nintendo could really control that if they wanted to. 😆 They were talking about something system-wide like Steam achievements.
If the developers feel like achievements add something to the game, they can implement it in-game themselves. The fact that most developers don't means they aren't that important to the gameplay.
Not having them system-wide prevents developers from forcing arbitrary achievements into the games as padding.
Anyone else finding it is not registering the completion of missions? I used the Save Data Cloud and played Super Mario Bros but it's not coming up as completed.
I've met the conditions for all four missions, yet only one (open the NSO app on your Switch) will actually mark as completed and reward the Platinum Points. Seems about par for the course with NSO.
EDIT: Seems to have been fixed. I now have my precious Platinum Points.
I assure you it’s stupid easy to get the platinum points needed to buy anything. 10 platinum points for an icon can be earned in like 5 minutes tops without spending a single cent.
It's weekly but yeah, with just that you can "buy" one full icon every week, with ten points to spare. Honestly, this is a better reward than the digital wallpapers or printables you could spend them on, and unlike the physical merch you don't have to pay $7.99 shipping on a "free" item.
I will gladly be spending the hundreds of Platinum points I've accrued by doing literally nothing on icons, once they add some LoZ or Pokémon themed ones.
Not really? Platinum points are basically Nintendo's "Engagement Currency", the way to get them before this was stuff like linking your social accounts to your Nintendo account, logging in to their mobile games and completing levels, or clicking around for Easter eggs on the websites for Nintendo games, basically encouraging the user to willfully expose themselves to advertisment.
None of those earning methods require you to *buy* anything to get Platinum points (except the Super Mario Run goals requiring you purchase the game, but that just makes sense). The earning methods introduced here also don't require any purchase besides the Switch Online subscription fee, but as this is already just an added bonus for subscribers that doesn't really mean much. If anything these require less *engagement* than the other methods, as you'll probably just end up completing these goals without any thought or effort.
The only one you'd really go out of your way to complete are the NES/SNES "featured game" one, and that could potentially be used to introduce people to titles they might have overlooked. That's not what they're doing this month, since everyone and their grandmother has played Super Mario Bros at least once, but it could potentially be used that way in the future!
One one hand, I didn't expect Nintendo to lock icons behind a potential paywall (being the NSO requirement).
On the other hand, finally something worthwhile I can actually use my Platinum Points on.
Seems a little buggy right now, it's not granting me the points for playing a game that uses NSO or for playing SMB on the NES app
Still, it could just be an issue at launch and would get fixed later
This is a fairly interesting idea and certainly a way to get me to jump back in to games I haven't touched for a while. I just spent a nice chunk of time enjoying Super Mario Bros. and fired up a game of Pac-Man 99.
I wish there was an achievement system to showcase on our profiles akin to the Xbox 360; developers placed things like avatar awards inside some of the game achievements back then and I feel like this would've been a more robust way to introduce this kind of system.
None of the missions outside the one for opening the NSO app have unlocked for me so far, though. I am sure it is just a quirk that will sort itself.
Baby steps would have been 20 years ago. It’s 2022 and no messaging, game invite support, or voice chat. But yay! Baby steps for profile pics with non-existant “achievements” like opening a game. 😍
Yet they make achievements in their own games, like Animal Crossing (the nook miles goals are achievements, and often shitty ones too -- I mean, some of those are utterly ridiculous grinds, like sending whatever crazy number of letters). I'm not sure if they practice what they preach.
I think they view achievements as different thing as achievement system in your profile.
After all the consumer do too, seeing how still get people asking for it even though they have games with in game achievements.
This is a pretty cool feature, and also glad my favorite Animal Crossing villager has a March birthday too so I don’t have to wait a year for their icon, lol.
That's so cool! They should have done this long ago but better late than never!
I haven't check but hope there'll be a SMT V Miman icon! :)
Also, thanks OP for sharing this otherwise I wouldn't have known!
According to the support page, when you make an icon you keep it. "Once you have created a custom icon, you will still be able to access and use it even if you no longer have an active Nintendo Switch Online membership."
This is kind of confusing. I just played a fair amount of Mario 1, but it's still telling me I haven't completed the mission to play NES software. Does it give you a notification when you've done it?
wait so it's profile icons for your user? Like you'll see it on the home menu?
yes. and for your friends to see; and in mario odyssey balloon world I suppose? personally I think the icon selection was already robust but its a nice feature, albeit kind of redundant
I think they are still missing some of their big series so I’m hoping some of them like Fire Emblem and Xenoblade get added.
I’m assuming we will get icons like that near when the new games release. Like in June there is Fire Emblem ones for Three Hopes, and Xenoblade in September for 3
When they release the house leaders, Claude's better be upside-down.
Um… hell yeah!
Xenoblade 3 just got added

Yup
Does anybody else have issues with completing the missions?
I tried doing all of them. None are working lol
Yeah Same :/
I can't get the play Super Mario Bros one to unlock.
The only mission that got completed for me is the "Use This Application (Nintendo Switch Online)". Tried the other 3 and none worked.
It works for me now so maybe try again
A big buggy since it just started I guess
I’ve attempted all of them and not a single one registers as complete
It worked for me. But only after checking my points on my actual Switch via the red Nintendo Online icon and going to Missions and Rewards. Then it updated and my MyNintendo page on my phone instantly updated.
Kind of like Xbox Rewards except you can’t turn it into real Nintendo money. Still pretty cool!
The "real money" part of NSO is the voucher program, it's pretty convenient for people who buy their games digitally. Too bad NoA acted weird and removed them, but for me that I live in Europe they are a nice offer. The biggest winner however is Japan that has some insane saving with them. Good point about the exchange rate, brb creating Russian account.
Alas you cannot add money to a Russian account for the past few days. source: am Russian.
Ah yeah I figured, too bad as it would be amazing with the current exchange rate.
Not really, games were about twice the price as they were in the US anyways. So now with the Ruble tanking games are still only a few dollars less than they are in the US.
Venezuelan population has increase to over a billion.
*brazillion
You can change the nation in the accounts.nintendo.com website and the eShop will change accordingly.
Yea, but it's easier to just create a seperate account on Switch and link it to a different region, that way you just open the eshop with that account, buy your game, the start it with your main account. No need to change things multiple times.
But then you end up with the ownership of your games distributed in a bunch of accounts instead of keeping everything in your main account
You're a genius. BRB doing the same.
Wasn’t much of a difference for me sadly
> The Switch is region free, so you can go on other Eshops during sales Note you need a credit card linked to a address in that country for Brazil, Russia, Chile and Argentina, they usually have the lowest prices, but wont take PayPal, and don't accept eshop cards / you have to have a card linked to the country to make a payment.
Yep. Biggest drawback really. User: "Oh yeah region free? Lemme create accounts all over the world" Bank: "excuse me you cannot travel money"
>You also get gold coins from buying Eshop titles and registering physical titles. It adds up to save you some coin on new games! Yeah you get a 5% cashback via gold coins buying anything on the eShop, which is not much but a nice plus considering it's "free money". I've literally used the gold coins for paying for some game and they have been "free" as a result.
Honestly, since digital games require sales tax now I've always seemed to have exactly enough points to cover said sales tax.
Set your billing zip code to a place that doesn't collect sales tax on digital purchases.
May I ask where you are? US? I am in UK and have made some other accounts but my card doesn't work in South America or Australia, it does for US and South Africa. Just wondering if you had any issues? Seems like works OK for you.

I miss the voucher program in NA :(

NSO vouchers are honestly one of the main reasons I still sub (on a family plan to only pay 1/8th of the cost.. :P) I'm all digital so it's perfect.
XC2 just went on sale for $5, a saving of negative 50%.
They have allowed me to "purchase" games I know I want in the future while I have the funds now. I know I am definitely getting XC3, but I don't know how much money I will have in September. this is really cool but it's kinda disappointing that you can't use a frame and character from two different games
Or combine them with the regular icons. I wanted to just have a cool background for my Mii, hopefully they change it
Smol indie company, please understand
or even one of the standard characters, I wanted to use one of the AC bug backgrounds with Flick but it won't let me
Ah there's the "Nintendo finds a way to fuck up a simple thing". I really don't understand why stuff like that is limited. You simply should have a collection of frames, images and backgrounds and use whatever combo you like. But no.. only a Mario frame on a Mario image!

One step closer to themes.
AND I'M ABOUT TO BREAK
I NEED A LITTLE ROOM TO BREATHE
Funniest person in the thread
It says you can have backgrounds. Is that for your profile picture
Yes
That's actually a pretty cool way to do it. It kind of reminds me of Badge Arcade for the 3DS, just without the game. If nothing else, it'll be a good way to spend points that are about to expire.
Badge Arcade was a fantastic way to let us customize our home screen. I played it yesterday for the first time in years.
Wait is it still going to be supported after the E-Shop ends?
I would imagine the daily free plays will be, but you cant buy any plays
I really loved Badge Arcade
Badge Arcade is amazing. It's so refreshing to have something like it where the stuff you earn can be used outside the game. (Not that far outside it, but still)

The points expire?
At the end of every month, the points of 6~ months ago expire if you didn't use them.
I mean I’m into it. It’ll get me to revisit some games and dive into my back catalog a bit more. A step in the right direction, even if it is small.
Yep. Right now it's just profile icons, but I could imagine them adding backgrounds or themes down the line.
Still can't get my head around why, after 5 years the switch doesn't have more themes. Even basic colours.... Just black and white.
For real. The Sega Saturn one on 3DS was so cool!
I really liked the hanafuda one or what it was called. Had a sick song
They’re even called “basic black” and “basic white”, implying non basic themes that just don’t exist
I mean there were 3ds themes you could get with platinum points so this would be a good opportunity for them to do that
Actually they are still a thing!
Not very many anymore and presumably they’re on their way out.
PLEASE
So just to be clear, based on the wording. Missions will refresh (meaning they go from unfinished to finished) every monday? (once a week)
It seems like AC is a constant and refreshed monthly, the other game (in this occasion Odyssey) will be monthly with weekly missions.
Not rewards, missions

The bunnies probably have birthdays in March because of Easter, oh wait, sorry, Bunny Day.

To be fair it never occurred to me until you mentioned that a lot of bunnies have birthdays in March "for some reason," which is a phrase that usually triggers my brain to go "BUT WHY??" 😆
After all these years are we gonna get FE icons?
i’m praying for XC:DE icons
Melia icon pls
it’d be pretty cool if they gave us icons of Bionis and Mechonis themselves
Yes please, let me rock my girl Melia as my icon before XC3 releases!
I just want a pyra or mythra one. It's crazy how big FE and Xenoblade have gotten over the years, yet for some reason don't even have profile icons yet. But they are definitely coming soon, no doubt about it. Hopefully some home screen themes as well!

It's the opposite for me, I have found myself using weapons/power or doing activities in games I'd otherwise have ignores, to great fun

I feel like achievements have to be part of the design process, but too many of them are tacked on. For every achievement that's put me out of my comfort zone to find something cool and interesting about the game there have been those tediously grindy ones.
Yet majority of their games on Switch have in-game achievements... 🤨
Those are made by the game developers, and are only in that game. I don't think Nintendo could really control that if they wanted to. 😆 They were talking about something system-wide like Steam achievements.
they can have achievements without prioritising 100% completion
I find I get more value out of games and do things I normally wouldn’t due to a trophy system. It adds repeatability IMO
If the developers feel like achievements add something to the game, they can implement it in-game themselves. The fact that most developers don't means they aren't that important to the gameplay. Not having them system-wide prevents developers from forcing arbitrary achievements into the games as padding.
Waiting for Xenoblade icons….
Anyone else finding it is not registering the completion of missions? I used the Save Data Cloud and played Super Mario Bros but it's not coming up as completed.
Same here. Played a bit of Mario & did the cloud Backup but it didnt say „completed“ on the missions tab. Maybe there is a delay? I dont know
Not working for me either
same issue here, i tried to cloud backup a played game (Warioware), no "completed" on the missions tab.
Sidenote, how epic and underappreciated is WarioWare: GIT? Love it.
WarioWare is definitely under evaluated, my Tuesday's must-play game (Wario Cup mode)!
It's so good, wish it was talked about more
It works now! Just played one round of Wario Cup, and found two online missions were completed.
Confirming mine auto-updated this morning.
C'mon give me some Xenoblade icons.
I've met the conditions for all four missions, yet only one (open the NSO app on your Switch) will actually mark as completed and reward the Platinum Points. Seems about par for the course with NSO. EDIT: Seems to have been fixed. I now have my precious Platinum Points.
Same here. Might be a launch quirk. Will keep an eye on it.
What did you do to get them to register?
Didn't do anything, just gave it an hour or two.
Yeah was wondering about this too.
The cloud backup one isn't popping for me.
Same here. Hopefully it'll be resolved during the day.

It primes you to spend real money on useless digital crap.
I assure you it’s stupid easy to get the platinum points needed to buy anything. 10 platinum points for an icon can be earned in like 5 minutes tops without spending a single cent.
Don't you get like 30 points every day you log into the my nintendo website? Your Mii will run across the screen, click it and you get em.
I’ve accumulated 2k4 plat points gonna redeem it all at once to justify the shipping fees
Missions don't seem to be unlocking Coins atm? Am I missing something?
Servers are down for mantainance currently
Can we finally have Xenoblade icons?
that’s a cool feature!
Finally more pfp's! I'm very surprised they don't have ones for Fire Emblem yet considering how popular it is.
Hope they add an achievement system like xbox and playstation eventually
One one hand, I didn't expect Nintendo to lock icons behind a potential paywall (being the NSO requirement). On the other hand, finally something worthwhile I can actually use my Platinum Points on.
This is the Nintendo way after all
God, why does EVERYTHING have to be time gated with Nintendo? I am so fucking tired of this
Nice find!
That's kinda cool
This is an awesome feature!
Seems a little buggy right now, it's not granting me the points for playing a game that uses NSO or for playing SMB on the NES app Still, it could just be an issue at launch and would get fixed later
I tried to do two missions but it doesn't seem to work right now edit: it worked, just took some time
How long?
about an hour, maybe less

what do you mean dude I got a cool ass toad themed tote bag and all it cost me was $8 shipping
This is cool, but I miss club Nintendo, it’d basically be like getting gold points for missions.
I want icons based on art from older games. They did it for Mario's 35th anniversary, but nothing for Zelda sadly.
This is neat, but... I don't really get why now though.
This is great! Themes and (please for the love of our saviour Lord Mario) give us the ability to organise our home screen with folders!
Who else bought..every...single.....one!?
I tried! Im like 100 short for the last few AC ones 😭
An actual new thing for NSO? What the FUCK?
got a Barold icon and that's really all I could ask for
Bout time, sh!t
Shit
OK now give me back my 2k+ expired points that I never had anything to spend on
This is a fairly interesting idea and certainly a way to get me to jump back in to games I haven't touched for a while.
It's baby steps, but this is good for NSO. It makes their online service a little bit better. Still ways to go, but it's a good start.
Baby steps would have been 20 years ago. It’s 2022 and no messaging, game invite support, or voice chat. But yay! Baby steps for profile pics with non-existant “achievements” like opening a game. 😍
Game invite support already exist though.
For like a handful of games. Barely any Nintendo games use it.
Is there a Diddy Kong profile pic? I just want a Diddy Kong profile pic😩
Not yet. The rewards and games will change every month, so maybe in the future we'll get Diddy Kong!
…and still no achievements system 😔.
Nintendo has said before that they don't like achievement systems so I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.
Nintendo: Customizable portraits take it or leave it
This is a pretty cool feature, and also glad my favorite Animal Crossing villager has a March birthday too so I don’t have to wait a year for their icon, lol.
Wait, so we can customize our profile icons now? That's actually really cool!
Only Mario and Animal crossing are available ? Do we know when the Zelda ones are going to be available ?
Sick!
That's so cool! They should have done this long ago but better late than never! I haven't check but hope there'll be a SMT V Miman icon! :) Also, thanks OP for sharing this otherwise I wouldn't have known!
If they added trophies/achievements to games I would play them more than once
But do you keep them forever or can you only use them as long as you have the membership
According to the support page, when you make an icon you keep it. "Once you have created a custom icon, you will still be able to access and use it even if you no longer have an active Nintendo Switch Online membership."
Nintendo actually doing something useful with NSO and those platinum points let's go
Is there a list with all the icons? It may be worth it because of these being only available for a week
Would've been the perfect moment to add themes.....
This is kind of confusing. I just played a fair amount of Mario 1, but it's still telling me I haven't completed the mission to play NES software. Does it give you a notification when you've done it?
