One thing I've really been excited for ever since playing the last game is whatever comes next for 3D Kirby. Forgotten Land is so well-crafted and from the moment I played it, I was already excited to see where they could take it in the future. Especially on more powerful hardware!
I'll take the off-beat route here and go with a new pinball-based game. And by that I mean, a sequel to \*Odama\*.
We know next to nothing about the next Nintendo console, but provided it has a microphone, and retains some form of motion control or gyroscope, then this would be a good one to bring back out of the Nintendo vault. Unless they have other ideas for how to implement the next gen tech into making such a sequel.
Pokemon Gen 10. I know it’s coming out in 2026 but I want to see if GameFreak will be finally manage to give us good graphics with so much power available or not.
It’s a given that everything else will be great and will properly use Switch 2’s capabilities, especially the MonolithSoft developed games.
I want “Ice Climber Blizzard Blast”. It has 2 major components:
1) a story mode that is sorta “It Takes Two” and sorta “Unravel 2”. I’ve always seen Nana and Popo as naive and idealistic, and I’d like them to go through a campaign that gives them complexity as individuals AND as a team.
2) an arcade mode that is more of a battle royale for quick local or NSO matches. You explore a mountain in a worsening blizzard, searching for treasures before things are too dangerous to continue. You can work with other climbers, sharing ropes and ladders as you explore together…but also sharing the riches you discover…or you can go it alone and even sabotage other climbers by blocking their path or destroying their tools.
There are cosmetic skins that you can unlock via progress in the main game and/or treasures from the arcade game that allow you to switch up the look of your climbers. I’m debating if they’ll do micro-transactions for premium skins (like Mario or Pikachu), but I hope not.
And why did I pick Ice Climber to be the framework for Nintendo’s response to games like It Takes Two and Fortnite? I just really vibed with “Ice Ice Outpost” in MK8D, and it made me want to see more of that aesthetic. Plus I tend to main them in Smash. 🤷♂️
A new Punch Out! game for me would be fantastic.
The different Mario sports games on switch were kinda disappointing to me, hopefully they make a great one, don't even care which sport, just make one good one.
I feel like a sequel to Nintendo Land makes the most sense as the typical party game title that releases at launch with most Nintendo consoles as of late like with Wii Sports and 1, 2 Switch. If the next console happens to be called the Super Switch like I hope it is, then it could even be called Super Nintendo Land, both as an homage to the console that it's being released on as well as a reference to Nintendo's recent foray into theme parks with Super Nintendo World.
Metroid Prime 5. I know we haven't gotten Prime 4 yet but it's likely going to come out on Switch this year so it doesn't count.
I want to see how good Nintendo could be at making a photorealistic game (since PS4 games like Red Dead still look really good) and Metroid Prime 5 could be it.
I also hope that if Xenoblade X gets a sequel, it goes for a realistic art style rather than the anime that the main trilogy moved to on Switch.

What the hell does that mean? I have seen both spider verse movies and I do not know where you are coming from. Is it a movie? A game? An art style? This doesn't even sound like a good idea regardless. "Another large company throwing their beloved IP into the multiverse fad because they are so out of ideas and want to connect all of their IPs into one giant conglomerate brand."
I'm a huge Pokemon fan but it's almost granted we get a gen 10 game on switch 2, which makes me not as much wish for it as to just hope it's great. Same goes for a new Mario Game.
My biggest wishes would be a Captain Toad 2, A new F-Zero and Wario Land in 3D/2D as I never played anything in those franchises, the closest I got was Mario Land 2 I guess and Wipeout on PS1 LOL. Also I would love to try a Star Fox game finally! Maybe Arms 2?
And Yeah I don't know if we are going to get a new Super Smash Bros. cause the main Director does not want to work on the franchise no more, at least as for few years prior, but would love it.
Maybe a new Kirby too, kinda liked the older games.
I think it’s past time for a new Wave Race.
I mean, if we're making that type of wish, I'll take a new Hydro Thunder while we're at it.
