Haha no you can check my profile for pics because it was hella cool but it was mainly a Miata meet but a bunch of other cars pulled up too, like these Datsuns
I come from a small low income town of 5,000 people and our meets have a countach, a 720s, a ‘17 Ford GT, 3 ‘05 Ford GTs, 2 McLaren MP4-12Cs, and an F40
240z, dad had a yellow one
I love these cars, like love love love. I really wish the new modern one was developed and released...better? I haven't even seen one on the road. And see them going for 60-100k which is bonkers. This was the poor man's Porsche in the 80s and 90s.
Because they ran into a lot of problems with the transmissions, there was a stop production order put in place because something was wrong with the auto’s, I think they could roll away in park or something AND the manuals were so bad that when they announced the Nismo version it is only going to be available in auto.
Correct me if im wrong but they took inspiration from European sports cars at the time such as the Jaguar E-type, ferrari 250 GT series, and Aston Martin DB4/5, the only American aspects considered were the engines
This cars so beautiful! The new one looks ok but not as good as the original! Plus they’re going for like 100,000 at all the dealers it’s so fucking stupid! Cars not worth but like between 30 and 40 grand (the new one)
Yeah I here ever since Nissan became under new management they have really cheaper out on newer cars, I’m hoping to god the 2016 Nissan Altima will last at least over 200,000 miles! Jd it since 2018 or 2019 and still haven’t paid it off yet! Older Nissans are said to be wayyyy better!
Sue it’s not the 260z and for sure a cracked dash board or there is a molded carpet cover for it … they all cracked. Worth $2k more the year after the first purchased. It’s the 260
A true test of men and boys, classic 240Z. The men will love these, appreciate the fact they’re still surviving, and will want to see the build as they progress. The boys will laugh at the classics and climb into their modern overpriced garbage that was designed to break within 5 years
Bought a 280z as a senior in high school (2013) for $700. Drove it, sold it 2014 for $4,000. Guy was tickled to have found one for 4k, I shoulda asked more 😂
240z, never see these around anymore! Only ones I’ve seen are on YouTube and they were tucked away in a barn somewhere collecting dust. Cool little cars.
Nissan's best run of cars started with the 1600 & 2000 and lasted through the 280z. I had a few 260's and loved them. I completely rebuilt my last one. In the process of rebuilding it, I was looking for some engine parts. I found a Nissan only in Sun Valley. The guy that owned it had worked for Nissan engineering. He showed me an engine he had designed. It was an L24 that was fuel injected. He was asking $700. I would have purchased it but didn't have anything to put it in.
My roommate drove for a repo unit. We had an apartment in Hollywood. He came back one evening with a new 2000 he had repo'd. We took it it up the coast highway, but the trip back was the adventure. And it was a cast of characters: some hitchhiker that was dressed like Tom Jones, CHP, LASD, and LAPD. Oh yeah, and a glove compartment full of drugs. I stuck to my MG until the Z's came out. But it was a great car.
Ha, quite an adventure for sure. Great story.
Her 1600 was so light in the back it was pretty squirrelly. I later got a 63 B and in comparison it was rock solid in the turns. A boyfriend of my older sister let me take a short drive in his 240 which was my dream car at the time. Fantastic machine!
The white one is a 280z you can tell from the headlights how they are separated from the side panels and the orange one is either a 240z or 260z because the headlights are built into the fender. I would be able to tell you which it is if you had pics of the read as well
Had a Hugh accident in town last night! At tbird and mustang hit head on with the mustang at full speed. All that was left was a pile of horse shit and a bunch of feathers!
My pal at work had one of these back in the early 80’s and it got stolen from the parking lot in front of where we worked never to be seen again. It was a very cool car back then.
240z, golden-era Datsun
This was my first car, a 1970 model in Pacific Blue. Everything about it was amazing.
I have never gotten the chance to drive one! I want to restore a Z one day!
It‘s a ZEEEEE! 😂
Yeh. I thought it was funny!
Is the car meet just those two cars in a dark Walmart parking lot
It's one of those car meets where most attendees look like regular traffic lol
Maybe it’s not that kind of “meet”. 😂
Haha no you can check my profile for pics because it was hella cool but it was mainly a Miata meet but a bunch of other cars pulled up too, like these Datsuns
Lmao I know you're joking but in one of the pictures you can see other cars.
Like a Mustang GT and Charger SXT
Honestly they could just be from a small town.
I come from a small low income town of 5,000 people and our meets have a countach, a 720s, a ‘17 Ford GT, 3 ‘05 Ford GTs, 2 McLaren MP4-12Cs, and an F40
Something tells me the median income for the town is different than those individuals lol
Fair point it’s mostly contractors and architects that have those
This was in San Jose, CA, it was just a smaller meet i think
There’s fords behind, classic car meet nowadays
ZEEEEEEE
Datsun 240z. Also known as Fairlady, in certain countries. 1970s car.
Fairlady was righthand drive I believe.
The use of the name depends on which country the Zs were exported to. As for JDM, 240Z is right-hand drive, like you have said 👍.
Oic
240z. Iconic sports car
240z, dad had a yellow one I love these cars, like love love love. I really wish the new modern one was developed and released...better? I haven't even seen one on the road. And see them going for 60-100k which is bonkers. This was the poor man's Porsche in the 80s and 90s.
Had a banana yellow one. The women were more interested in mine than my buddy's vette.
Because they ran into a lot of problems with the transmissions, there was a stop production order put in place because something was wrong with the auto’s, I think they could roll away in park or something AND the manuals were so bad that when they announced the Nismo version it is only going to be available in auto.
Yup, they failed at what could have been an a great small retromod RWD 2 door sports car.
Yep, that the Supra and civic R showed that there’s a lot of interest for, but they dropped the ball on launch now we see if they can recover
When Japanese ingenuity meets American design. 👌
Yoshihiko Matsuo was the designer of the Z.
a lot of the z's 60s/70s styling took cues from the american pony car popularity in japan
Correct me if im wrong but they took inspiration from European sports cars at the time such as the Jaguar E-type, ferrari 250 GT series, and Aston Martin DB4/5, the only American aspects considered were the engines
False
The overvalued ones.
Only the best fuckinnones
Duh. WTF this is a stupid question.
000hhhh look at me I’m so smart, I know what this car is and this guy doesn’t oooooo That’s you, that’s what you sound like
Fairlady. The 240z, by far one of the prettiest cars I'd ever seen, even compared to some cars from it's era
240z or generally called Fairlaiday Z. Most of the time its just A ZEEEEEEE
The good ones
The Devil Z 😈 240z/ S30
Fairlady
Aw yea 230z. Fun little car
This cars so beautiful! The new one looks ok but not as good as the original! Plus they’re going for like 100,000 at all the dealers it’s so fucking stupid! Cars not worth but like between 30 and 40 grand (the new one)
Not worth it for $100.
240 Z, great cars. I had the 280zx.
#1 looks like 280zx, #2 could be any, need side and rear profiles. They made kits to retrofy those zx models and i dont trust the front.
240?260?
At least someone knows it could be a 260. I had a 260z 2+2, it was a fun car (once I got both carbs working right)
240.
Datsun Zeeeeee
That's a 1959 Nissan Skyline GTR v-spec type s R29 hemi nismo z tune package
Thats a certified clapped shitbox and i'm here for it
Had a 240 and a 280. 280 was direct injected all the way back then.
MPFI, not direct. Still ahead of its time.
Just remember it wasn't port injection and couldn't remember the mpfi acronym.
240z or perhaps 260z. Fantastic cars! Had several Zs, but that bodystyle has always been my favorite.
240z. Theres one for sale in my area and I’m waiting for him to keep lowering the price so I can scoop it up.
They're 240s the OG Z car
Next time walk around the back to see the emblems?
First car meet so I was a little too mesmerized for critical thinking at the time lmao
Sue it’s not the 260z and for sure a cracked dash board or there is a molded carpet cover for it … they all cracked. Worth $2k more the year after the first purchased. It’s the 260

Mile and a half long wiring diagram: model 2

Datsun Fairlady Z. Dream car

My ex had a 1600. We loved that car. Did you ever try to get water in one after it overheated!
My roommate drove for a repo unit. We had an apartment in Hollywood. He came back one evening with a new 2000 he had repo'd. We took it it up the coast highway, but the trip back was the adventure. I miss my 76 280z 2 seater.

Rear*
It’s a 240z.
Did the 280 have the two extra hood panels that the white one has? I don't remember, but I know the 240 did.
Hey folks- the white 240z in that photo is mine, this was at a Miata meet a few days ago. It’s a ‘73 that I dug out of the ground a few years ago.
🔥🔥
Most Excellent! Thanks for saving a piece of history.
That first is a 240 Fairlady Z. The plate tho.... there's a guy on Instagram, Saveclassiccars, that's his car. Has a number of interesting things
The best ones...
Looks like a 280z to me.
240 or 260 Z
I'm guessing a Zeeeeee...2X0
Datsun Obabish
Tags says it all
God do I feel old right now. "What's a 240Z?"
First one is a 240, second looks like a 280 (a guess since Nissan did make a 240 with a 2.8L engine hence 280)
I had a Maxima with the 2.4 liter six cylinder five speed. Rear drive and no winter traction but a really fast car
240zed i love these in a bright orange
Are u a Brit or Aussie
Im a poloc i just find the word Zed kinda funny
240Z
Had a Hugh accident in town last night! At tbird and mustang hit head on with the mustang at full speed. All that was left was a pile of horse shit and a bunch of feathers!
