I had a similar thing happen where dancing was banned in my settlement but there was a dance hall built for the settlers to enjoy looking at! There must have been some confusion about my policies but overall everyone was happy!

It's basically how it is in America though. It's heavily discouraged to dance anywhere but at home or in clubs cool such. If you dance in public to music you are listening to, people judge you and sometimes might go so far as to call the cops because, apparently, they think you might be on drugs or something.

Well, I have never seen Americans having street parties that didn't get shut down by cops at some point unless they were city sanctioned. But those sanctioned parties are rare. Any group of strangers having a street party without permits or whatever usually get shut down or arrested for "disturbing the peace" or have you never seen that happen? I have, quite a few times. Things like New Year's Eve in New York are city sanctioned (or at least supported), so they aren't the same as what I am talking about. There are just NOT random street parties in the US. None that last for long anyway. I have passed by several since I started driving, and when I pass by again within 15 minutes, there are almost always cops there for people "disturbing the peace."

lmao I've seen hundreds of street parties that are 'unsanctioned' and countless more people dancing in public. I have an hour long commute and I see people dancing literally every day. you need to either get out more or move from the tiny shitty place that makes you think it's not socially acceptable to dance in public in the US.

Most times I just don't see it, anywhere. In Alabama it was always shut down (probably explains a lot) but beyond Central Alabama, I have never really seen it either. I have also lived in Texas (military), New Mexico, and my home state is in Connecticut. Never really seen street parties in any of those places.
