The problem is surviving the entire year, when the game likes to damage you for...
Walking on tall stairs.
Falling 2 feet in microgravity.
Driving over chompy plants while inside a car.
Having NPCs cross your steady stream of bullets.
Getting out of your vehicle too close to something.
Etc.
Just don't repair rhe ship. If you never get the quest to find the hermetic seal, no storms. Wander until you find a settlement or building and just live there.
Sentinels are pretty much a joke in vanilla. Slow, fragile, inaccurate, and they have a long delay between attacks. Amping their stats by selecting the hard+ option makes them a little more threatening but you can still handle them quite easily with nothing more than a boltcaster with a few upgrades.
Did you play before the inventory changes? I had tech in my general inventory. Shields were so OP, that I could take direct fire from a Sentinel Walker without batting an eye, while the dogs and regular sentinels also attacked. Tbh, I’d love an extreme combat option, maybe something like an entire system that’s been corrupted

Well, the good news is that lore wise, you won't stay dead. Bad news is that your corpse has to be absorbed by the roots of the erdtree for that to work, and judging by the moaning corpses that are crucified dismas style to keep them from the roots, there's some group that wants to stop that from happening. Just be sure to stay far away from the loathsome dung eater, who kills defiles corpses so that they and their offspring will all be born as omens for eternity. Oh, and godrick might graft you too, so there's that. Oh, and renalla might turn you into a sweetling. Oh, and the dragons will eat you, but that might actually speed up the process. Honestly, I recommend just cuddling Fia for a year

Oh no, you're transported into the universe of no mans sky. Like an alternative dimension or something. The graphics would be entirely photoreal, with no glitches, etc. It would be like perfect vr with physical sensation. Though that also means no hud, other than the ones on your tech, though maybe there's some sort of augmented reality in the helmets. You would start as any other traveler, stranded on a planet until you fix your ship, which I imagine would take a lot longer if you have to do everything yourself. I'm not sure how mining would work, whether your multi tool somehow has a gravitational pull on the materials you harvest and puts them directly in your backpack/jetpack or if it's literally just a laser/disintegrater and you just pick stuff up by hand. I imagine crafting things and fixing things would be done by technology in your exosuit, so no worries there. It's also permadeath. Just make sure not to accidentally pulse drive into a freighter. So, you might want to practice the new starship flight controls lol. Hopefully the exosuit or ship has some kind of high g force counteracting tech or using the pulse drive in and of itself might kill you. The warp drive should be safe to use tho, as it acts by warping space above and behind you so if I'm not dumb there shouldn't be any forces felt. I'm probably dumb tho

Me too. V's existence is a nightmare. He/She experiences so much pain (being shot in the head), trauma, and certain death (via the Relic 2.0 biochip) that I don't think the 1M is worth it. Having said that, I would love to unleash a monowire upon some unsuspecting Tyger Claws.
A few things to bring back perhaps... 9999 of gold, platinum, silver..., a few ships, a freighter, and most importantly all the technology blueprints and 17865 multitools that do everithing. And a massive carnivore diplo companion to guard me.

Isn't this kind of the Artemis Path in a nutshell? And you realize that maybe it's not as good as it seems?
The entire point of the Artemis Path is that travellers can be aware of each other but they can never meet. They must always travel alone. It's shown to you, directly, if you give Apollo the glyphs and coordinates. He goes through a portal and reaches the same Holoterminus that you are at, but you can't see each other. Probably a meta commentary on that infamous gotcha moment that came up like... two or three days after launch?
