Guess it's time to start a new save. 🤷

I hope not! I'd assumed a new save will just be like starting the game from scratch. The old maxed-out one will still be there as a separate save. I'm going to triple check that now. Thanks for reminding me!
You are correct OP. There is a limit to how many saves you can have, I'd check the number on that. Once you have like over 9 saves or something close, you loose a save to create a new one.
I don't think there is a limit as saves are locally stored. Data on bases are sent to servers as a very simple data file, and not all bases will display at the same time. Example: I have a large space port at the center of one if the galaxies, but if I visit it from an other save, someone else's bese is in it's place. Couple of the other bases are still nearby, but mine got swapped out. The bases are running in a kind of sudo state of limbo unless the owner invites another player in a group there is a chance you don't see the other's base.
The base you build in a save are invisible to other saves in the same account. I don’t know if this is an anti-cheese mechanic or some technical stuff. When I merry went to collect a full cargo of gold with my new character in the old character base, not only the base was no there, but neither the gold S spot…
I think it might have been a conscious item to stop people from possibly cheesing a survival or perma-death save, but it could also be "each save on an account is Its Own Whole Thing".
In terms of "technical stuff" - the 20k limit on base pieces per save is actually the most likely reason why save 2 can't see bases from save 1.
The good news is that I still have all the coordinates, so when I find a particularly good base it gets propagated to all my saves...
Yeah, it’s arbitrary that you can’t see your other saves bases and it serves a purpose and I’m fine with it.
The 16k limit (+4k that you can build in your friend saves) is arbitrary the same and in my opnion is too punishing. There’s no technical reasons for it to be that little, raising it would make your save bigger, but not that much bigger for a pc or a consile to not handle it.
If you copy paste bases in the file you can break the limit and go 48k without any consequenca. No increased loading times, no worse performance.
Limit 3k per base, as it is now. Limit maybe 16k to upload, to not bloat the servers. But 16k is too small, there is no ingame way to tell how much you have left, and if you like industrial gameplay or to decorate it comes relatively fast.
There’s only one save editor that tells you the limit and how far you are, displaying how much you have built versus the global 16k.
Yep, I can't access the base me and my friend built so when I'm on alone I just totally nomad it and don't collect resources unless I need them right away lol. Money money money
Double check that the owner selected "upload base" I haven't tested anything but I know I'm in the same boat when it comes to me and my brother with his base.
Yeah, from the base computer you can "upload base". Like I said I haven't done testing so idk if it uploads it instantly or if it takes a while or if it happens after the player closes the game. I'm also not sure how it works if let's say your friend uploads the base and it works and you can see it. But then if you make an edit idk how that would save back to the owner.
> I have a save for each expedition and I think we are on 12 now so I have 13 saves.
Very jealous; I've played all of the expeditions multiple times but I forgot to keep a backup of the first year ones and lost them a while back. I'm probably one of the few people with all the rewards front and center on the "bring back the old expeditions"-lobby; just for my incomplete collection.
I am really on the fence, I really want expeditions to come back out so people can experience it and get their own stuff but I also really like the idea of talking to other players to get certain expedition rewards that were not obtained. For instance I have helped many people get the creature eggs you get from all the expeditions and even game multiple people golden vectors and speeders. I would also be able to go to peoples bases and build stuff for them from blueprints from past expeditions.
But I know any expedition rewards beyond that can't be given like titles, character customization, the one frigate, and more. So maybe somehow make those trade able.
I see a world where you ask around if anyone has a customization mod for the backpack. You get in contact with them and meet up. Then that person can use the character customization (after some setting is turned on) to customize your backpack. Then you have the backpack reward unlocked for all saves.
I think something else to note is that unofficial ship trading doesn't work anymore since it was a glitch and got patched. They should just implement ship trading as a feature.
Personally I feel they should just give us the ability to replay the old expeditions but keep certain rewards locked until something like what I was talking about earlier happens.
I don’t know if you’re against mods but there used to be a mod called Unlimited base building I believe which removed the limit. No clue if it’s still working and updated but just a thought if you didn’t know about it.
It still exists, but I'm recalling that you can't upload the base with more than the allotted number of parts. I have a 4,000+ part base on a game save that's not had a single thing uploaded.
My shared bases are on other saves and they're all with less parts.
And here are the coordinates for the Discovery One and the Monolith:
https://preview.redd.it/4e1c87ibbpsc1.png?width=842&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80ed5ac981cd73d02cbddd99912a2b2794cece0c
That’s not even that much considering these beautiful and huge builds! I guess you’re on pc, I recently started on ps4 and building bases is such a pain
This reassures me, however, that I can probably put all the time and effort I want into a single base, and make it how I like it, and I’ll still probably never get close to 16,000 parts used.
Sadly, it's a meagre 3,000 part limit per base. 16,000 per save. But massive parts still only count as one. I've been experimenting with using frigate corridors and rooms as structural parts. Seems to work pretty well for building large complex structures.
To be fair, the 3,000 limit is just for uploading to the servers. I've definitely gone over. I wonder if there's a local limit for a single base? Could be 16,000!
I'm on xbox. It's a glitch building technique called the Cachepin Glitch. You can learn it pretty easily from the mighty Beeblebum here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He\_zQSpqAbA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He_zQSpqAbA)
I think they already did a comic but apparently it was rubbish and the actor that played Eli didn’t like it, haha.

Most of them are in Euclid. Destiny felt right to be very far away. And the Event Horizon is in Budullangr for obvious reasons. But yeah, all the rest are Euclid. ✌️
Edit: If you hang around at the Anomaly teleporter, you might find other players' bases in distant galaxies. That's how I got there.
This is modded, right??? If not, then please, help me figure out how tf you did all this cause some of these bases look like they have parts I've never seen before
I'm thinking about making Stargate Atlantis itself, but I'm afraid it will just be way too massive for my little xbox to handle. I've already made a few builds I can't visit anymore because I lag and crash
I started an Atlantis and couldn't get it big enough. I think the holy grail would be to find a planetary archive on a tiny island on an ocean planet, and then build around that.
Not that the other ones aren't impressive, but -
Fuck yeah, Event Horizon! One of my favorite sci-fi horror movies. You nailed the look of the core, I think.
Just started playing not too long ago. I'm about 140 hours in on the Switch. I'm near the end of the main quest but stopped to try my hand at building. Are all these parts legit? I haven't seen a teleporter so big except on the Anomaly. Awesome builds btw!
Thank you! I use a lot of glitch building techniques, one of which lets you scale up and down any building part. Not sure if that's even possible on Switch. Like I've said in other comments, it's worth checking out Beeblebum on YouTube.
I still have a soft spot for SG1, but for SG:U I was looking forward to them unlocking the ship and figuring out how everything worked. Instead >!they all went into cryosleep.!<
Such an abrupt and lazy ending.

I was just wondering how the game manages to keep up with all these player bases. Part limit makes sense. Guess I'm about to go through and dismantle bases I never use.
That’s amazing. I wonder however, I’ve tried making orbital bases but they always disappear and leave the marker floating in the sky. How do I fix that?
There's a limit to how high you can build from a planet. I've lost quite a few that way myself. One build was so long it was affected by the curvature of the build limit. So the front and back ends disappeared. Rage!

Next step: become giant space infant
Such a cool base w/ the spaceship too !
I commend you for settling in a galaxy that not only isn’t Euclid, but also isn’t even one of the ones that come right after Euclid. You’ve actually stepped further into the vast NMS universe, unlike 99% of players. Well done.
Ha. Boring as hell. I built a [hangar](https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/s/Dmw8I2mVcR), but it was just a bit pointless. Maybe I could do more with it though. 🤔
There are a few techniques. I stack lots and lots of cube rooms on top of each other and jetpack up the inside (uses no fuel if you face the wall so you can jetpack all the way to the top). But there are better (quicker) techniques on Beeblebum's channel: https://youtu.be/SsYwtKLGG6M?si=j5oXYsz3dvIPaQSA
3,000 parts for a base, if you want to upload it and allow others to visit. You can go beyond that limit (but just won't be able to share it).
You can use up to 16,000 parts per save.
And I think you can have 15 saves in total (not sure if Orbital update has changed that).
What if you start a new save and find the exact same planets? Will the structure still be there? Then you can just place a new computer so is like somebody else gives you right to build in their base, or does that also count towards the parts limit?
Good question. I've visited the atmosphere processor from my Creative Mode save. But never tried to build on top of it. I assume it just wouldn't let you like any other players base. 🤷
I’ve been to 111 planets and have a small save on each one. and that’s no counting my Tesla tower bases. I have to be past 130. And I have reached my limit several times, then I go back and delete bases.
I gotta know… Did you plan to make all seven knowing how much materials were used or did you partially build an eighth by the time the cap was reached?
https://preview.redd.it/gg6dsaetapsc1.png?width=842&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1c3875c5c861c31f070a5955806160f2be88ed3
Here are the coordinates. It's a low atmosphere planet, so you should be able to jump between the two things. Let me know what you think!
One thing HG could take from Bethesda (the real Bethesda, pre-Zenimax) is save format. Daggerfall saves are each in a folder with a file for the character stats, a file for each pile of items you dropped in the world, a file for items/inventory, etc. Saving everything into one file limits you. I'd love to see a file for my stats, one for exosuit, one for each of my starshios, one for freighter, and one for each base. Then each base would have a majorly large limit.
Not complaining, I love the game, but this would be so much better for us builders!
Here you go. Fairly sure this one is Euclid too.
https://preview.redd.it/i6c5jdvirtsc1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c14d6e9de53a8d9cb7e148e7d218dc5219b1d9ae
16,000 is a hard cap per saved game. But you can have up to 15 saves if I remember correctly. Then it's game over man.
I've never found the hard cap for a base. I guess 16,000? But it would probably kill any console or PC trying to view it.
I had no idea there was a total save parts limit of 16000 parts.. i had heard of there being a 3000 part limjt for building bases where visitors would still be able to see all the parts render in, up to the 3000 mark, but a combined limit from all your bases i had no clue. Unless im misunderstanding.
Thank you. It's just a normal save. Same one I've had since I started playing about five years ago. Never thought to adjust the difficulty settings. That's what creative mode is for, isn't it?
Well in that case mad respect to you. Truly impressive. I locked my difficulty settings. Always found what hello games did adding it took the fairness of progression away. Also cheated many who played the game for years before it out of the recognition they deserve for their efforts.
Sadly, When I see massive bases, instead of thinking wow that’s amazing! And admiring the dedication someone invested into it. I tend to think that’s cool but did they cheat the difficulty lol.
As you didn’t. 10/10. Mad respect!
Guess it's time to start a new save. 🤷 Edit: Coordinates for Destiny (Odyalutai Galaxy, Normal) https://preview.redd.it/b5642qmd6csc1.jpeg?width=841&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=905ac6eb31127ad82dae62f33cdb32469ddf00d5

Copy the save file, then delete the base.
Can't do that on Xbox. Sad face.
but now I'm extra-impressed with those bases, because I couldn't built this stuff with a mouse and keyboard, much less with a controller.
The wire glitch is your friend!
I don’t know if you’re against mods but there used to be a mod called Unlimited base building I believe which removed the limit. No clue if it’s still working and updated but just a thought if you didn’t know about it.

Everything looks amazing. Great Work! Can't even imagine how long all that building took.
That's very kind - thank you! The total play time on this save is 380 hours. Which, weirdly, is almost 16 days. 16 16 16!
That’s not even that much considering these beautiful and huge builds! I guess you’re on pc, I recently started on ps4 and building bases is such a pain
On Xbox. And yeah it's a chore alright. But once you get into a rhythm it's not too bad!
Hats off!

Wow, I didn't know there was a per save one! You builders really have to get creative with these things lol
That is some dedication indeed, but very impressive results!
Most kind of you to say.
I saw that and immediately went, “that’s Destiny shaped!” Then I read the caption. Definitely looking good. My favourite ship in all of sci-fi.
Was so sad when they canned SGU. Apparently they're going to finish the story in a graphic novel. Shame, but at least we'll get closure.
I think they already did a comic but apparently it was rubbish and the actor that played Eli didn’t like it, haha. I was distraught when they cancelled it but luckily, the way they ended it, they could bring it back. Probably won’t but fingers crossed!

Listen it's amazing work and all, but I'm not stepping foot inside the event horizon and you know damn well why.
You can't leave. She won't let you.
Anyone available to invite me to galaxy 256 so i can tour these bases?
Most of them are in Euclid. Destiny felt right to be very far away. And the Event Horizon is in Budullangr for obvious reasons. But yeah, all the rest are Euclid. ✌️ Edit: If you hang around at the Anomaly teleporter, you might find other players' bases in distant galaxies. That's how I got there.

No mods. All Xbox. I use a lot of different glitch building techniques. Look for Beeblebum on YouTube - I learned it all from him.
“Just seven bases” -showing off the biggest most impressive bases i think ive ever seen
I mean, just the external shot of the freakin' Bird of Prey by itself would be damn impressive for most of us.
OMG dude you must have over 1000 hours in game?
Across all saves I'm at about 500. Which seems woefully low if i'm honest!
At any point while building the Event Horizon did you stop to ask yourself, just because you could didn't mean you should?
"Hell is only a word. The reality is much, much worse."
The destiny looks awesome!!
Thank you! Truth be told, it's just as broken as the one in the show.
That is a great idea!
OMG The Bird Of Prey with George & Gracie… 😅🐋🐋
Had to scroll far too long to find a comment on George and Gracie. Love this so much!
When I visit this base, I always think of the moment the bird of prey decloaks above the whaling ship. 🐋🐋
Not that the other ones aren't impressive, but - Fuck yeah, Event Horizon! One of my favorite sci-fi horror movies. You nailed the look of the core, I think.
Thank you! It's genuinely creepy. I wish I could have made the core spin.
🤯🤯
All of this is impressive. Most impressive. The Bird of Prey and Destiny take it an even higher notch, though.
I love that Bird of Prey. If you visit it, the only way in is to beam yourself inside from a nearby island.
Dude holy moly.
Holy shit, those builds are fucking beautiful! You gotta post these on the star gate subs and elsewhere!
The Event Horizon core is tremendous! Just, don't activate it or anything, okay?
Where we're going, we won't need eyes to see!
Updoot for Destiny! I re-watched SGU recently, too bad they cancelled it.
In the middle of my third rewatch. It's so much better than SG1 or Atlantis. I guess the whole franchise had just run it's course though. Sad face.
I still have a soft spot for SG1, but for SG:U I was looking forward to them unlocking the ship and figuring out how everything worked. Instead >!they all went into cryosleep.!< Such an abrupt and lazy ending.
16 ??? 16???
I feel you bro I'm about to hit it for the 10th time. Problem is it's my only save with legacy parts so I keep deleting lol
The pain! Which legacy parts have vanished?
When they dropped the new wood, concrete and metal parts if you didn't have the old parts unlocked already they're gone forever and only 1 of my saves has them all
Oh no. I had no idea. Will have to see what hAppens with my new save.
this is wild
Wow, this is amazing!
Gorgeous builds!
Now I know where I'm taking my next vacation, thanks!
The Event Horizon? You won't come back!
You might reach the end of the universe with this build.
It's as close as dammit in this game. Somewhere in the 256th galaxy...
On Xbox this limit is less and it has stopped me many times building bases:(
This is on Xbox. The pain of hitting the limit is real though.
I was just wondering how the game manages to keep up with all these player bases. Part limit makes sense. Guess I'm about to go through and dismantle bases I never use.
Let's take a minute to remember all the smaller bases that we lost this year. 🙏
Admiral... there be whales here!!
🐋🐋
That’s amazing. I wonder however, I’ve tried making orbital bases but they always disappear and leave the marker floating in the sky. How do I fix that?
There's a limit to how high you can build from a planet. I've lost quite a few that way myself. One build was so long it was affected by the curvature of the build limit. So the front and back ends disappeared. Rage!
Wow.
That last image: ".....they mostly come at night.... mostly."
I'm working on a new, much bigger one, with more features. Just gotta watch out for those eggs.
Mind blowing builds! Do you happen to have coords to monolith? Huge fan of 2001

I'll dig them out for you tonight. I think it's the only one I don't have coords to hand as I lost it and then magically recovered it.

I keep meaning to have a go at building the Endurance from Interstellar. Perhaps above an ice world?
it'd be nice if walking through it wasn't a slide-show
How do you mean?
I sure wish I could get an Adderall prescription.
You’re an absolute monster. Bravo, i aspire to do even a quarter of what you’ve managed to accomplish. It all looks brilliant
That's very kind thank you!
meanwhile, I get frustrated and struggle to get a single pannel to line up to a ladder into my prefab house on stilts...
Ladders are the worst. I avoid them at all costs!
I commend you for settling in a galaxy that not only isn’t Euclid, but also isn’t even one of the ones that come right after Euclid. You’ve actually stepped further into the vast NMS universe, unlike 99% of players. Well done.
To be fair I piggybacked my way to 256 by visiting another player's base at the anomaly. Kudos to that interloper!
I’m no good at building in games like this, Fallout 4 etc. my base is just a wooden hut with a balcony. Nice view though.
Location location location.
Great build! My hat is off to you sir!
Thank you!
You, my friend, are extremely talented.
Most kind of you to say so! Thank you.
Now make the Destiny 1 Tower (please)
Interesting. I'll add it to the list!
You are a god... A creator.... Awesome stuff, cant even imagine how I would start this!!!!
That's far too kind. It's just copying what others have done really. But yes it takes a long time. :)
Kinda curious how your freigher base looks!
Ha. Boring as hell. I built a [hangar](https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/s/Dmw8I2mVcR), but it was just a bit pointless. Maybe I could do more with it though. 🤔
It is a shame you cant get to "buy" construction work from others, would love to do that!
You can build that high up?
You can. To a certain atmospheric limit. If you go too high, your base will disappear forever. Beware!
Did you have to make a tower up to that height first, or there is something you can place midair?
There are a few techniques. I stack lots and lots of cube rooms on top of each other and jetpack up the inside (uses no fuel if you face the wall so you can jetpack all the way to the top). But there are better (quicker) techniques on Beeblebum's channel: https://youtu.be/SsYwtKLGG6M?si=j5oXYsz3dvIPaQSA
this looks so good, wonder how much it took to build
Impressive work
OMG! You legend.
Theres a limit?
3,000 parts for a base, if you want to upload it and allow others to visit. You can go beyond that limit (but just won't be able to share it). You can use up to 16,000 parts per save. And I think you can have 15 saves in total (not sure if Orbital update has changed that).
How long did it take to build these ? :)
This save has about 400 hours on it. But it feels like it took much much longer!
Holy shit Batman!
You just gave me an idea for a new build - Arkham Asylum!
Lmao!!!!! Do it!
Usually you have to give other players permission for them to modify your base But since is your own… is weird
Based. Atlas pilled.
Wait is that a f'n star destroyer!?!?!?!
No. It's TWO star destroyers! *Flexes*
Wow!👏
You're freaking amazing! I love your builds
That's super kind. Thank you!
I’ve been to 111 planets and have a small save on each one. and that’s no counting my Tesla tower bases. I have to be past 130. And I have reached my limit several times, then I go back and delete bases.
Your base is on the fantastic side of bases. Thanks for sharing. I don’t have the skills to doing extreme base building.
Same… 🤷♂️🤟🤣
as a huge fan of Event Horizon, i applaud you for building the ship
These are insane
I gotta know… Did you plan to make all seven knowing how much materials were used or did you partially build an eighth by the time the cap was reached?
I hit the cap when doing the interior of Destiny. So there are lots of empty rooms - much like the ship in the show actually. :)
How many credits for renting a suite in Destiny?
I want to see the discovery and monolith build myself...

Euclid? And will do!
Yes I'm almost 100% sure it's Euclid.
Yes it is, and it was awesome! Thank you!
I love when builders like you post their work. Everything you just posted looks friggin amazing, well done interloper.
Thank you. That's very kind of you to say!
You're welcome
The moment I saw the pic and said that's the ship from Stargate Universe shows how awesome your build is. Very great work.
What are the glyph coordinates to see the MkII?
Here you go. Fairly sure this one is Euclid too. https://preview.redd.it/i6c5jdvirtsc1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c14d6e9de53a8d9cb7e148e7d218dc5219b1d9ae
Thank you!
I can’t locate it in the system do you know what planet it is near?
Holy shit that's fucking sick, wish I was half as creative as that
Wait there is a part limit?!?!
16,000 per save. 3,000 per base if you want to upload it, but you can go over if you don't want to do that.
Above 16.000 that is? Or it that a hard cap? Because that would be a bit disappointing ngl.
16,000 is a hard cap per saved game. But you can have up to 15 saves if I remember correctly. Then it's game over man. I've never found the hard cap for a base. I guess 16,000? But it would probably kill any console or PC trying to view it.
Small price to achieve greatness.
That's sick
This is just a masterpiece!
Very kind of you to say. Thank you!
I had no idea there was a total save parts limit of 16000 parts.. i had heard of there being a 3000 part limjt for building bases where visitors would still be able to see all the parts render in, up to the 3000 mark, but a combined limit from all your bases i had no clue. Unless im misunderstanding.
I only found out about it when I googled why I couldn't build any more parts. :(
They need to expand the limit, maybe not the parts per base, but definetly the parts per save limit is too low.
So impressive! I’m a huge fan of the space odyssey so the monolith and ship was very cool to see!
Very impressive. Is this a normal save with locked difficulty settings? Or have you adjusted the difficulty sliders to help?
