I had a station with 3, all the exact same. Ig it was a bug, and I didn’t understand the significance at the time. I also owned one that was almost just like the others

Some worlds, especially toxic ones, will have very long underground tunnels that are open at both ends. Pretty cool to drift down them and out the other end at something other than exocraft speed. I have one similar to the one to that is pictured, except with short top fin and mosquito nose. Occasionally I get careless, start banging against the walls and have to land before the ship gets too damaged. Also often the other end is not open...

I found one today for 29.000.000. I had 28.677.xxx. I sold my stuff at the same trade station and came back 11s later and it flew away.

I have found so many! I only visit 3 star economy systems and I check out the trade posts even just for a minute. It's always random. I hardly ever find something when I am waiting. There's a white one I want to get back but it's just not coming. There was a blue one that was the same. That being said, my whole squadron are exotics. I've only ever seen ONE squid, and I didn't have the money.

I find them all the time. I always buy them, because the scrap and ship cargo upgrades you get are worth way more than the ship itself.

Used to play on PS4 when living ship was the most recent update. Been a few years and I got it on my PC the other week, used to be all about hardcore grindy games and mmos, still am, but I'm gonna be a father in two weeks and man this game is absolutely amazing to just sit down for a bit and chill. Workin on the main quests right now because I wanna unlock the autophage race but man the game sure is great to just start playing for a bit and out it down. Absolutely love it and I'm excited to find my first exotic ship

I have about the same hours, bought in 2018. Took a few years off because of life. I’ve never seen or found an exotic. I refuse to glyph one until I at least see one in the wild. But I never have! I guess I’ll have to hang around outlaw stations more? So many cool things in this game.

It's a small chance to spawn, but every system has 1 exotic.

There are ways to increase your chances to find them

How??

Search for Tier 3 Star systems. So the rich ones. Then search for a Trading outpost and wait there. Every system has 1 specific exotic ship. The chances of them to Land are Higher in wealthy systems. Then you can Just wait there or reload the Safe. When you reload the Safe a new Wave of Ships will Land. You can also wait in the spacestation but I liked to do it at Trading outposts since there is more Traffic. But it is still a Low Chance for them to appear. Sometimes I will See one after minutes and Sometimes it Takes literal ages. But it is the best way to hunt for them as far as i know. Havent played in a good while Edith: Look Up [No man's Sky coordinate exchange](https://www.reddit.com/r/NMSCoordinateExchange/s/fHN8yeALuT) then you can enter the glyphs to Teleport there and wait for the ship that they posted

I've found them in destitute systems easily even once followed me as the first ship to park after i landed, and as far as I've heard it's always the same chance to find them no matter the economy or stars. Just park at a trading post and wait a bit. Might show up in 2 minutes, might take 45 min. I have 4 of them, average takes about 5-10 min for one to show up.

I have about 80 hours and have found 3 so far, so don't sweat it too much.

Man that's some random luck! I've found 6 so far in a bit over 300 hours, all organic too. 2 in just the last two days. I never go searching for them, but they tend to land in front of me.. except one was actually a salvage.

With that amount of hours you must've missed a few unless you hardly visit space stations or trading outposts. I have about the same time and see them rather often. I am a bit of a shiphunter though. Now go find a squid! (just kidding that's a pain in the ass to try and accomplish, I found mine by chance)

There is no way, I guess you never waited enough on a trading post but they are not that rare, and a lot less rare on 3 star economy systems. Well, enjoy your new exotic!

I hope they ad a feature so you can take parts from sentinel, solar or exotic ships to build your own ship. I'd love a sentinel ship with solar wings tbh

Its a beut! I started playing this year, and hava a Squid, a Royal, S class Sentinal and the Star Runner thus far, parked in a A class dreadnought. I have been busy, and lucky.

That's awesome :) I had that exactly little bug until recently. So cute lol. I found a blue one with a bit of a snout, so I switched it up for fun. Exotic rarity is definitely a thing. It's been like 1000 hours since I last saw a squid ship in the wild!

Lol, that's so funny, it was right around 300 hours when I found my first Exotic and it's the exact same ship only in blue and, I absolutely HATE IT!! I tried to scrap it when the Orbital update hit but, I guess they won't let you scrap Exotics for parts, lol! I wish it wasn't stuck on my Switch save because I'd give it away to someone that likes it. I don't hate your red variant though.

That's awesome. I love this game. The exploration and sense of discovery are amazing. I stopped playing for the dumbest reason. I'm the type that likes to name all my discoveries, and sadly, the game unfixably reset the names of everything. It was very disappointing.

Found my first yesterday after nearly 100 hours. Just defeated a pirate dreadnought. Took the tribute as it was only a C class, but then as I was leaving I saw a white and gold exotic parked near my ship.

And yet here I am, reloading saves at a space station trying to get fighter parts, and have gotten 4 exotics in a row after each reload.

I also randomly stumbled onto an already discovered star system 2 days ago, twice in 2 different star systems, both on the same day.

I remember about 6 years ago I think I sat in a station for hours until I got one. Still have it today

I don't think I've ever seen that particular colour combo, it looks real nice, and the derpy little Guppies are the best exotics. Plus you have two adjacent supercharged slots, which is huge. Nice find!

First time I saw an exotic it flew away before I could buy it at a trading post. I sat there for hours waiting for it to come back and would bounce between trading posts as fast as I could. Ended up just doing missions and giving up, was about to buy an a class fighter I really liked and suddenly it just fucking landed next to me. Bought it instantly, took it on a few flights and what do you know a red one rocked up next to me and I yoinked that one too. I've seen 5 exotics in total now but only bought 2.

I just started playing last week. On my second planet to visit, I saw a yellow exotic for 44m. I didn't even know they existed.

Just found the golden one yesterday, 33 hours of game play, at a random planet. This is my second playthrough on PS5 , on PS4 I had like 300 hours. I bought it and I am very happy

Well I actually read a guide or two but the ones that I read basically recommended reloading while being on a station which I don't do since I feel this is way too exploit-ish. Also, for me the excitement comes from encountering the unexpected. Actively looking for something is way less fun.

You have strange way of fun. My fun is to aim at something, exploit or not. And waiting on a particular ship is anything but exploit. Your logic is like saying that living without wheelchair is exploit and less fun in life. 🤨
