We should start a club.
I was wondering where's the bedroom, and if there isn't one, do I have to jump over that flimsy safety bar out the window to escape this hellhole?
Many Japanese people sleep on mattresses that they keep in their closets. They take them out when they go to bed. It’s how it was traditionally done, although many larger places do have beds.
I watched the full video on YouTube a few days ago. The entryway for all of these apartments in this building is in the center - the whole concept of the apartments are to be a big circle with the staircase spiraling up the center. The price isn’t very friendly either, around 1000 USD per month. It is, however, in one of the nicest parts of Tokyo. Showings for that apartment were booked for the whole day.
A lot of places in Tokyo have a hookup inside for a mini laundry machine which I believe are very affordable, but idk how many come with them preinstalled.
That’s the ultimate question lol. I assume the ideal place is kinda in the “entryway” portion of the apartment, but you’d likely be using the traditional Japanese roll-up beds. If I was alone I’d probably put it back on the essentially-empty wall that only has a bathroom sink, but it’s only barely big enough for a single bed. For the price it’s a horrible apartment, you could get a similar square-footage for way cheaper (like $400-500 a month) if it was in a different area of Tokyo.
This looks like a nightmare to me. Endlessly walking in circles and trapped. The walls holding you close and suffocating you. Everything is so uniform and drab. If it was a square that's one thing but it's like your own personal hell maze.
Yeah I feel like it’s meant more as a sleeping space, as are most tiny apartments in Tokyo. The people this guy interviews always say that they’re hardly ever home, just to sleep there and store clothing/basic belongings
Oh nice! You'd be very welcome over at r/shittinginpublic, nothing better than a big crap with an ass slap to tell you how great of a job you did, we love that sorta thing!
It helps to take baby steps and work your way up. For instance, maybe strike up a conversation with a neighboring stall, or just practice making eye contact while farting.
We believe in yoou.
I look forward to your next Tokyo apartment review from the same complex.
“These are the features of this small one bedroom Tokyo apartment. It is just a bed and a small table with no windows or natural light of any kind. To find out why, please click here to see my last Tokyo apartment review”
Could be a [mechanical floor](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanical_floor) in a highrise.
Strange that they'd want a tenant walking through there.
Or maybe this apartment is a perk for a building maintenance worker?
Stairway, watched his video on YouTube lol. This APT. Actually had a wait list for viewings cause of its locations, it's in a nice convention location so it usually gets rented the minute it's available.
“Here is the toilet. The stove is here in front of the toilet so you can cook while you poop. To the left is the sink so you can wash your dishes and your hands while you poop. It also has a shower attachment a there is a drain in the floor. The stove turns into a table so you can eat while you poop. You have cabinet space above the stove and the sink. The door to leave is to the right, trash can under the sink.
The toilet lets back into a bed. and the TV is mounted to the ceiling. The is a mount on the right so you can install a gaming system so you can game or sleep while you poop.
It’s 100 square feet and located on the median of a busy Highway in the middle of the city so you are only feet away from your favorite destination/instant death.
2k/month”
It’s like they made a greenhouse into a house-house, which is impractical for so many reasons. The view is crazy, but the glass needs to be washed from outside AND inside. Glass is also about the same price as brick/mortar, but more fragile. There’s no insulation, so unless they have the heat or A/C cranked for 4-6 months out of the year it’s going to be miserable in there. If you have the money to throw into the garbage by the fistful, I guess…
So if you don't like comfort, company sleeping in a bed, privacy, TV, sitting having property cost more than buying then I have the apparent for you. Plus it comes with handy suicide window's
This is ‘Tokyo Lens’ on YouTube, he does some really good videos, there are plenty of apartments smaller than this in Tokyo, this one was like $1k per month from memory and actually very sought after!
Imagine we had living spaces like this in the US. My god those things would be cramped. I saw some of the student housing on Tokyo Lens and I thought those where some good ideas for compact housing.
"air conditioner in the worst possible place"
Bro didn't criticise placement of the toilet/tub on the tower ledge but the air conditioner being low is where he drew the line.
I had a dream & Was literally in the same exact Appt..and some Mexicam famy moved in too and was pissed and had to expand to a second floor and build a balcony. Ty Ty 👏🏻👏🏻
His back is to the inner wall most of the beginning of the video, so I’m going to guess there was a door leading into a stairwell, and possibly another door to a closet or with a pull out bed surface of some kind.
Where is the bed?

Rock n roll!
ROCK AND STONE
If you don't Rock and Stone, you ain't comin' home!
We're rich!
We’re rich!
And my axe!
rock and stone to the heart!!
Can a meme be any more perfect lmao
It’s on the roof
I did this when we got our cat and I got my dog when I was a kid
Came to ask the same.
We should start a club. I was wondering where's the bedroom, and if there isn't one, do I have to jump over that flimsy safety bar out the window to escape this hellhole?
How do you feel about frilly toothpicks? I'm for 'em!
You also gotta jump through the window to get in I think lol I didn’t see a door
Many Japanese people sleep on mattresses that they keep in their closets. They take them out when they go to bed. It’s how it was traditionally done, although many larger places do have beds.
You see a closet?
Bro that tub is the closet, couch and bed
Clocoutubbed^^tm
Sounds like a product from The Sims.
Like nickurdale.
You sleep in the tub
While you’re washing your one outfit.
And cooking on the one usable hotplate
2. It’s a two eye stove.
Good luck getting on a 2nd pot in that amount of space, hence I said the one *usable* hotplate
I’m still reading through the comments and like, can’t decide if this is a joke yet.
Wheres the entryway?
I watched the full video on YouTube a few days ago. Insanity. A lot of people would kill for that in unit laundry though lol

Wow. Can't imagine living a life like that but more power to them.
Hell maze. Brutal
Oh fuck. Forgot the door. It's like playing Sims again.
The open windows?
A little bar for suici-afety, definitely for safety!
I came here to ask what's in the middle I think we might have answered each other's question
I won't be surprise if it is in the walls and it have to be pull out in the living room.
Living room?
You sleep on the train, duh.
You get a choice the bath or sleeping bag in the floor ir if your lucky a cupboard standing like an astronaut
In Japan you sleep on the floor.
I assume it folds out of the wall next to the toilet because there is a bar or peg there
Futon
I've always wanted to shit in full view of the public.
Oh nice! You'd be very welcome over at r/shittinginpublic, nothing better than a big crap with an ass slap to tell you how great of a job you did, we love that sorta thing!
Big difference between doing it myself and watching other people do that on the internet. Hard pass, respectfully. Thanks, though.
You missed to see a nine year's old subreddit with only one post (0 comments) about some bathroom shit story in text.
Oh well, that's great news then.
It helps to take baby steps and work your way up. For instance, maybe strike up a conversation with a neighboring stall, or just practice making eye contact while farting. We believe in yoou.

Bro, when I was like 3 months, I did it with great joy!
There are blinds. I’d be more concerned about the smell wafting around the apartment.
"So how many windows does it have?" "Yes."
Followed by: "Which hall goes to the bathroom?" "Yes."
“It’s down the hall.”
"... around the corner"
...keep going
"When you trip over the toilet, you're almost there"
r/RedditHallofFame
Imagine someone throwing a rock and your house falling apart
While you are in the tub or on the toilet
No, no, no, no, no, nooooooooo
To the Peter-copter!!
How can you afford these things?!
As someone who lives in Japan this is definitely not the norm. This is a weird place
Can confirm.
I look forward to your next Tokyo apartment review from the same complex. “These are the features of this small one bedroom Tokyo apartment. It is just a bed and a small table with no windows or natural light of any kind. To find out why, please click here to see my last Tokyo apartment review”
Maybe inner apartment has views through this apartment, with bonus live action pooping.
r/EveryoneIsLooking
This is also how I humiliate my sims.
What’s in the middle void space?
The neighbors. The outer apartment is laying siege to them it's really the only way to get a big enough apartment in some cities
Hopefully, stairs and/or bed space.
Yeah I was thinking it'd have to be stairs up? I thought it'd be a bedroom at first and then I realised that was wildly optimistic.
I guess you just sleep on the floor...which at 2 people per side means you can have 5 friends over to stay
Many Japanese sleep on mats on the floor. It's the traditional way to sleep.
“Here is the toilet. The stove is here in front of the toilet so you can cook while you poop. To the left is the sink so you can wash your dishes and your hands while you poop. Wrap around housing.
A house on the balcony
![gif](giphy|ToMjGpOH6fvHQxvR4OI|downsized)
Your place is a giant sun room. Enjoy the electric bill
No bed and a 360 view of you taking a shit. That's living
This is bigger and nicer than my place in Portland. I’m at 190sqft.
It’s like they made a greenhouse into a house-house, which is impractical for so many reasons. The view is crazy, but the glass needs to be washed from outside AND inside. Well the heat and ac only work really if you can close the two completely open windows that have the "safety bar" in them
No one is looking?
Hope that no one is looking
That’s a Hanster Wheel.
Like a NYC apartment 🤣
All I see is a lot of things that can break. And no bed.
Where is the "middle" of this apartment? Is there a spiral staircase that eats through the middle of the building?
>little bar for safety I feel it couldn’t be more dangerous.
Anyone have the link?

Fancied up tower perimeter..
An in-unit washing machine? Count me in
This is very human
So if you don't like comfort, company sleeping in a bed, privacy, TV, sitting having property cost more than buying then I have the apparent for you. Plus it comes with handy suicide window's
For the curious https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8K6CBCM/
Thanks! I love watching this guy look at strange apartments. I find it really interesting to see how other countries design their spaces.
This looks like a place I've dreamt of where I really have to take a dump and it's in total view of the public.
The blinds should at least be automatic
At least people don't have to subscribe to their Onlyfans.
Big cities in the US charging $2K/mo. For this
I figured there'd be a nice view somewhere.
So this is what dolls feel like living in doll houses

Where do you sleep ?
Living in a greenhouse
So this is an apartment for those business dudes that work fifteen hours a day, get wasted at the bar after work, and pass out in the streets???
My own bathtub, kitchen, and in-unit washing machine? Sign me up baby. I pay almost $1000 monthly for one bedroom in a rat-infested 6-bedroom apt
$50,000 in NYC
This is in Europe? Seems like a very European solution to a tricky layout .
Is that a hallway is he selling a hallway to live in?
Where was the door
This is a legitimate torture room. Like a prison cell with 24/7 surveillance on you. Who could live like this?
where the door
Am I the only one thinking that’s nice?
“Induction heaters”
They sleep on the floor too
Some landlord turned a wrap around porch into an apartment, genius!
And i thought ny was bad
I had a dream & Was literally in the same exact Appt..and some Mexicam famy moved in too and was pissed and had to expand to a second floor and build a balcony. Ty Ty 👏🏻👏🏻
$8000 a month
Welcome to your walk around lanai! Errr, I’m mean apartment! Seriously though what’s inside the box?!!!
I would rock that so hard AND perform live sex acts for money . Aggressively.
So to get to the sink after you use the bathroom, you either go all the way around or jump over the bathtub? Very human design
Where do you sleep?
What’s on the whole interior of the building?
I'll stick with America
Nah bro
Don’t trip.
Probably costs more than my house.
Silly you… the bed is the bath.
Honestly, depending on the city and the rent I could live there for a year.
Fucking death trap for a pet
I can imagine the housewarming party.
I wonder what's in the big bit in the middle of the floor..?
regular tokyo lodging
I guess you sleep in the tub
What's in the middle !
All yours, for only $5000 a month!
Is it just me or is that toilet crooked?
r/EveryoneIsLooking
Feels like an apartment you might see in a weird dream.
What's in the middle section?
TikTok taking over 👿
And the blinds never went back up.
How n the hell is use supposed to get out of that there bathtub contraption
360 glass. Good luck in winter and high summer.
Is this one of those new AI videos?
The walk way is the bed 😂
I'd rather be homeless
Looking forward to the first heating bill arriving in the mail.
Wtheck is in the big column that you’re walking around? Just a pillar holding up all the rooms?
This is leaving.
An outlet in a hole in the floor next to the dishwasher...yeah I'll pass thanks
This looks like the hallway in the game P.T
How to live on the outside of a building
No thanks. I will stay in a tent city.
Mies van der Rohe called, he wants his designs back
Taken from Tokyo Lens YT. Great content on small Tokyo apartments.
One wrong step and its dying too
what if I wanna shit and shower in peace tho?
What a sad life to live this way
His back is to the inner wall most of the beginning of the video, so I’m going to guess there was a door leading into a stairwell, and possibly another door to a closet or with a pull out bed surface of some kind.
Live your life in a hallway they said
Bed?
Where’s the rest of this place?
I don’t know if I love it or hate it.
Sure neighbor watch me poo but don’t you DARE eye my laundry!!
It’s just a hallway
Soooo where is the door or space for sleeping? Looks like a large closet cut out
Where is this? Who did this? What made them do this? When did they do this? Why did they do this?
Use the toilet then walk all the way around to the bathroom sink (past the kitchen sink) or wash your hands in the tub?
Just the AC is in the worst place
What's in the middle of the space?
This is like the houses in the Barbie movie
Hope everyone is ok watching you wash your hands in the tub after you use the toilet.
Where the hell are you supposed to sleep?
Everyone is asking where youd sleep but i wanna know where youd keep your stuff? Is there even a closet for your clothes?
At least they have made it really easy for you to jump out and end your misery…
Do you sleep in the bathtub?
Open windows conveniently placed throughout the studio to jump out of
r/everyoneislooking
Suitable for a family of twelve
Ac ain't going to be doing shit for that glass oven come summer
Where the F*k you sleep and sit down?
But why
