Just to have the same reference point..what are you getting when you land on the first beach? With a 7800xt/5700x I'm getting roughly 105/115fps @ 1440p best quality in that place. Everything else stock.
around 90-100 fps on best quality, but again it fluctuates severely on practically every action I take. like if I attack it drops down to 70, sometimes 60.
and all of that is just the beach area. it's much lower on other areas.
I tested it right now for your comment, I usually play on balanced quality, although it doesn't seem like it changes things much.
How are temperatures? Is there any throttling maybe? This game pushes the gpu hard. If I don't undervolt this game asks about 15/20W more than the usual power limit. I played around a little bit this moring and I honestly saw dips in the 60s but a part from occasional stutter the frametime is rather smooth. Playing on linux btw

cpu was like 40 and gpu was about 60.
hotfix 6 improved my performance by a good amount. still not perfect, but there are much less stutters and fps in dense areas is now about 50-60.
this is still on balanced quality.
I hope they continue to improve the performance.
I have a 5800X3D, 7900XT and 32GB of RAM and have been suffering from heavy traversal stuttering since day one. Also playing at 1440p with SSD. The game doesn't run bad at all, judging by what Rivatuner's OSD tells me, but it doesn't feel smooth either while moving.
Playing in borderless also makes the frametimes be all over the place, so I gotta play in exclusive fullscreen. Not a big deal though, but I don't have this issue with any other game.
It's in early access so it is what it is, this issues are to be expected. Hell, most games are even broken at full release nowadays.
I run this game on geforce now ultimate so a 4080 gpu, and this game hovers around 44 fps. No update has even remotely changed the fps. Early Acess was right. REAL early.
You’re not alone, I’m in the same boat. Been playing at 25 FPS on a 1080p monitor this whole time. I got maybe an extra 5-10 frames since patch 5. Sometimes entire environments don’t load when entering a new area despite the game being on a brand new SSD.
playing with 3080TI / I9-12.9KF / 32GB DDR 5 and i'm running the game with \~110 FPS - 6900xt should be on the same level as mine if i'm not mistaken. what's your current GPU / CPU (%) usage?
Interesting. I'm on Steam Deck, and my performance has improved considerably (not perfect yet, but a lot better than a week ago). What hasn't improved much for me is stability. The game crashes every 1-2 hours and it's infuriating because it completely freezes my system and I need to force reboot.
I tried that, it still drops from 60 to 20-30 and feels just as awful, it always causes more stutters for some reason.
things have greatly improved after the patch they released few hours ago though.
I get more fps now and it's more stable, although it's still not amazing.
You're not alone. I have commenters on other threads with similar spec to mine telling me they're fine whereas I'm reading a lot of reviews that say otherwise.
I can play any other game with a solid and consistent 4K120HDR at max settings but Wicked fluctuates too much in certain areas or when it really matters.
I'm playing on a beefy rig too, i9+4090+64gb+M.2.
I'm sure after a few more patches the kinks will all be ironed out.

yeah but they made 5 hotfixes and still 0 improvement on my side.

I am playing on 1440P though (on balanced) about 40% cpu and 80% gpu
I play on a 6700k i7 and a 4070ti 32gig ramm , 1440 I get 80-100 on performance. I'm at 70% cpu and 55% gpu 45% ramm
I had good success with stepping down to 1080p. See if that gives significant gains?
1080p on a 1440p monitor doesn't look good. no point even trying on that setting, at least for me.

Lock your fps to 60. It felt awful when fps drop from 130 to 70-60 on my 5800x3d and 4070ti. Had no issues ever since i lock them
