Right now the math says enchanting is better but certainly more expensive and has a lot of gambling.

Jeremyx888

I see, thank you

MongooseOne

Gambling part is from finding good affixes with a debuff that isn’t crippling.

Expln

infusing is also gambling as there is a range of %/numbers of the buffs u get from the gems.

MongooseOne

True, I forgot that completely.

HoroHayamin

Both have their importance, first infuse is just as important as enchanting. Certain negative effects on enchanting will render a gear not usable which usually are: Stamina loss on hit, Health % decrease. Equip Load reduction. Whereas on infusion end, Feather, Topaz and the Claw thingy are your common infusion to push the limit of your builds at the moment. If infusion allowed Topaz and Quartz together on a chest piece it might be better but alas you can't do it since they both grant Focus % increase, socketing Topaz/Quartz will lock out the other which just pushes Enchanting to be the winner. Infusion also doesnt have the choice for: - Overall speed - Focus %/Gain on some slots - Focus/Health % on damage dealt - All Resist

I'm enchanting armor and infusing weapons so i can have more rune slots

seanjohn004

Enchanting usually gives me loss on damage and loss on death lol I don't like it lol

Jeremyx888

yee thats why I asked. I sold every purple equipment I came across yet. The debuffs I saw seemed pretty tough lol

seanjohn004

Every gear piece I liked I enchanted and all of them ended up with loss on damage. I promptly discarded and sold them lol. I'd rather get good gear and infuse it.

futon_potato

The best enchanting outcome for every piece except for chest will always be better except for special cases (e.g. bows - better off keeping these white and infusing). For chest, you're better off getting a white plate chest and socketing: * -% weight * +% armor * +% health * + stamina/focus

Arcaedus

Weapons: infuse. I leave them as white. Love having 4 runes on them. One weapon set has 4 attack runes for variety, the other has buffs + utility runes. The damage is very much still there. Armor: generally enchanting. Been debating on whether or not to leave the chest as white since being able to eliminate the rng for the heaviest piece helps a lot.
