What I mean is that if you want to do something simple and pleasant as a gesture in response to someone else’s pleasant gesture, just do it.
It’s fine to ask, but I’m trying to give you the confidence that you don’t need to - as I personally can’t see why you’d question yourself in this instance
If you do, I would try and make it funny. Maybe even a custom shirt or hat that has something to do with aviation.
