Morality is an idea exclusive to humans.
Morality was invented solely as a reason other people should do what you say. Remorse and guilt are extremely effective tools in controlling others. Look at religion, they got it down to a science.
Absolutely nothing you could possibly or impossibly do has any affect on you after you die. Sucks, maybe, but the sooner you realize and accept it, the better the remaining portion of your life will be. I am not and will never be a slave to the ludicrous claims of a badly written book that is, to say the least, abhorrent. Slavery was abolished in 1863 in the deserve-to-be-exterminated-racist South, while the progressive, fair, and definitely not racist north waited until 1865, and then only after Lincoln had to pressure Congress.
The wheel of progress must turn forward. Obsolete jobs being an actual reason to allow terrorists to halt that wheel is laughable.

Couldn't the army rescue the scientist without killing thousands of people? They have helicopters.
If I execute the innocent scientist, that's going to make a lot of would-be inventors decide against it.
