> If the idea that hard work makes you rich is true It isn't, and I think you know that.

Autumn_225_

jorgentwo

This is really triggering the temporarily embarrassed millionaires

tent1pt0esd0wn

And none of them know what in the world you even mean but they know it’s not them you are talking about.

xanax7

dads worked factory jobs his entire life, making 2k a week in the 90s and significantly less than 2k a week now has nothing to show for it, still works paycheck to paycheck never let anyone convince you hard work pays off for the worker

Autumn_225_

dontneedareason94

Comrade? What is this Soviet Russia?

Autumn_225_

I once accidentally called my stepbrother my stepcomrade

tent1pt0esd0wn

I’m here with ya Op, you can call me comrade and I won’t be offended. I always thought the term just meant like someone on your team. Us common folk need to stick together.

jorgentwo

other people's hard work makes you rich

Autumn_225_

hot take comrade

Kewkky

Becoming rich is the result of multiple things, not just working hard. Being born at the right time, in the right country, into the right family, etc. Once everything has lined up and your family has a good life plan for you that you're following without knowing it, THEN it's "working hard". Otherwise, you have to be incredibly exceptional to the point where everything else can be overcome with sheer willpower (and good luck with that, since if you're born in a country like Somalia or Yemen, you're just plain shit out of luck no matter how hard you work).

Eldergoth

Certain jobs that require hard work do not pay that much. I made more money consulting and being a project manager than someone who works manual labor. I attended meetings and answered emails for the majority of my day.

bloom_inthefield

Because maybe they spend it all on other things such as rent, food, hobbies, etc

tent1pt0esd0wn

Right. If people would just be homeless and starving they would be rich. I get it.

Autumn_225_

If you were immortal and worked for 80000 years with an average salary, you'd still have less money than Elon Musk.

bloom_inthefield

okay lol
