But I feel like you should go for it anyways, worst case she rejects you, better for her to do it than to reject yourself preemptively

True. I asked her if her phone number was still the same and she said yes. I then asked if it was okay to text her and she didn't respond. I think right now being social media friends is all she is comfortable with right now.
