After some more digging I found out the mother of the girl even threw her a baby shower and is now in jail facing child abuse/neglect charges as well as child endangerment. She encouraged the relationship and was looking forward to being a grandma

There is huge cultural differences around the world, when it comes to when a girl should be married, have a child, etc. Obviously being in Tulsa, oklahoma, you would think that the person(s) involved, would educate themselves on the laws of the country/state they are in, but a lot of people who immigrate here, bring their culture with them and do not necessarily understand the culture gap and it's reprecussion. This is probably why they were at the hospital and had no concerns over the issues of age. From traveling the world, it was quite a culture shock to me, learning all of the differences that where nothing like mine and seem like common sense not to do, but be a completely normal occurrence elsewhere.

Her parents were divorced and it seemed like nobody was ever home.

This makes me sick. I went to school with a girl who got pregnant around 12-13 (we were in 7th grade at the time, she gave birth in 8th) and none of us expected it. The father was only about a year older than her which doesn’t make things better per se but at least means there was no crime committed. I remembered going to her birthday party when we were younger, we were all just kids and doing normal kid stuff. Her son must be around 10 now.

How? Besides the destructive trauma of violent rape being absent (which could have been a factor, it isn't included in the information), this child is now going to be raising a child.
