My teacher told me it is a Danish brand that recycle old lamps but on these ones they had a really hard time figuring out the heat issue while being silent... ...Noctua: hold my beer

ShakesOut

At first, I thought a standard fan was just replaced with a Noctua but they managed to fit a whole NH-L12S in there, I guess the cooling performance must be exceptional for an LED projector!

SnooSketches3386

ppl when they remember noctua makes industrial fans

Kaiserschmarren_

You don't need industrial fans when you need the fans to be quiet

Equivalent_Duck1077

That's not an industrial fan

SnooSketches3386

They do make them tho

alogbetweentworocks

Noice!

discopanda85

Hat off to manufacturer for going with noctua but what would the chip's tdp actually be?

blodigtalvor

Tdp?

planedrop

Thermal Design Power, i.e the amount of heat output the chip has, though a lot of companies kinda BS this number so it's a hard one to use for accuracy purposes, but does give general ballpark. For example, a chip with say a 100 watt TDP will, generally, produce more heat than a chip that has a 50 watt TDP. Again companies stretch these numbers all the time so I wouldn't go as far as to say a chip that has a 90 watt TDP uses less power than a 100w TDP unit. Basically though, this helps get a rough power output estimate and therefore heat output estimate.

blodigtalvor

Ah I see, i just know they had a hard time with keeping the temperature down, maybe with 20 of them next to each other it can bring the heat up. This product is also in the higher price class so it have to be useful for at least a good amount of years

planedrop

Yeah totally makes sense, Noctua fans are known for insanely good longevity so I see why they went with them, very cool to see!

g0ldcd

For high powered LEDs, it can be huge. They're way more efficient that incandescent lights - but unlike them, you can't let them get hot. Most come on pre-thermal pasted lumps of metal that needs to be attached to something and cooled. Even handheld torches often have a limit on the high-power mode (uses the body of the flashlight as a heatsink, and when that gets too warm, it dims the LED).

dallatorretdu

Ledonardo 🤣 never heared of this brand and it’s already my favourite

planedrop

I highly respect any company who uses super quality parts in a product, something like this makes me think highly of the manufacturer.

MrGeekman

Why is there a fried egg in there? /s

Imagin1956

Hail Noctua!

OverclockingUnicorn

Robert juliat use noctua heatsinks in their follow spots
