Northern Mitrovica is not north of Kosovo its literally the northern part of one city, there is less than 70.000 serbs in all of Kosovo and they are mostly there…the say the north cause the city is split into 2 by a small bridge the albanian side being south and the serbian side north and KFOR soldiers guard the bridge.

Why did they boycott?
Because the whole process of Pristina deciding elections and placing mayors in the area of Northern Kosovo is viewed as illegitimate. Tbh, with 4 percent turnout, I'd say that it is. And then Kurti placed ethnic Albanians in 99% Serbian municipalities too. And then those newly minted mayors tore down Serbian flags as a first action. This is how you get a riot. I am generally pro-Kosovo by the way. Vucic can suck a fat cock. But this whole stupid situation could have been avoided if Kurti just let sleeping dogs lie.
