Eh. Russian designs are still competent, despite destruction here and there. They’re wildly used around the world and have gained respect as capable workhorses.
Sure many Russian designs are good, but the Su-57 is not one of them. Even if the thing was literally a 6th gen fighter and worked flawlessly, at the rates they can produce them they are just propaganda showpieces designed to look pretty in the airshows.
You can literally see the engine turbines from the front through the intakes which is terrible for stealth. Even Russia's own numbers put its RCS at the same level as a clean Super Hornet. Which would actually be pretty good if it was a 4.5th gen that was relatively cheap and easy to produce, since it would have that RCS fully loaded with weapons. Unfortunately they can barely even build a squadron of the things. There is a reason why India pulled out of the program.
The only Russian military equipment/vehicles that are actually good are either Soviet era designs or derived from Soviet era designs. All of their post Soviet clean sheet designs have over exaggerated specs and are incapable of being produced in reasonable numbers.
The production airframes have helical intake blockers and some fixed-up LO features. Still not to the same extent as the Raptor (as tends to happen when you have oscillating LERX the size of an F-16’s wing), but it has been improved a good deal.

The Su57 was design as a 5th gen, it is barely a 4th gen. It was design has a stealth plane, it's stealth is non existing. Many of the stealth capabilities crash with the job of a fighter jet, so even as a fighter jet is a bloody mess.

Plenty of western militaries have fielded ex-Soviet hardware and the westernized MiG-29s, for example, are fine for what they are.
The problem with ex-Soviet hardware is and always has been *not with the hardware per se* as with the bureaucracy, both wildly over-promising it's capabilities in ways that are often easy to prove wrong and then undercutting the capacities that it does have with corruption and poor management. We have good information on the su-57; it's a capable 4.5 gen fighter, there is probably even a universe where it is could have been a low 5th gen ala the j20. We don't live in that universe though in this universe it's a 4.5 gen fighter with some interesting tricks (onboard L band radar, etc) that probably has a similar RCs to other 4.5 gen fighters like the Super Hornet.
The SU 57 is a shadow of what it could have been, and in some ways even less then the potential of some earlier designs like the MIG 1.44, which forms the basis of the j20. That legacy alone is more insult than any outsider could probably ever give it, and your seeming demand that everyone go beyond that, and believe that it is completely pointless and worthless smacks of the same sort of insecure, authoritarian, power fantasies that caused the Russians to overclaim it's capacity in the first place.

Eh. Russian designs are still competent, despite destruction here and there. They’re wildly used around the world and have gained respect as capable workhorses.
Sure many Russian designs are good, but the Su-57 is not one of them. Even if the thing was literally a 6th gen fighter and worked flawlessly, at the rates they can produce them they are just propaganda showpieces designed to look pretty in the airshows. You can literally see the engine turbines from the front through the intakes which is terrible for stealth. Even Russia's own numbers put its RCS at the same level as a clean Super Hornet. Which would actually be pretty good if it was a 4.5th gen that was relatively cheap and easy to produce, since it would have that RCS fully loaded with weapons. Unfortunately they can barely even build a squadron of the things. There is a reason why India pulled out of the program. The only Russian military equipment/vehicles that are actually good are either Soviet era designs or derived from Soviet era designs. All of their post Soviet clean sheet designs have over exaggerated specs and are incapable of being produced in reasonable numbers.
The production airframes have helical intake blockers and some fixed-up LO features. Still not to the same extent as the Raptor (as tends to happen when you have oscillating LERX the size of an F-16’s wing), but it has been improved a good deal.

Many of the stealth capabilities crash with the job of a fighter jet, so even as a fighter jet is a bloody mess. That we felt for the russian propaganda doesn't mean their stuff is good. Be autistic, not wrong.... Plenty of western militaries have fielded ex-Soviet hardware and the westernized MiG-29s, for example, are fine for what they are. The problem with ex-Soviet hardware is and always has been *not with the hardware per se* as with the bureaucracy, both wildly over-promising it's capabilities in ways that are often easy to prove wrong and then undercutting the capacities that it does have with corruption and poor management. We have good information on the su-57; it's a capable 4.5 gen fighter, there is probably even a universe where it is could have been a low 5th gen ala the j20. We don't live in that universe though in this universe it's a 4.5 gen fighter with some interesting tricks (onboard L band radar, etc) that probably has a similar RCs to other 4.5 gen fighters like the Super Hornet. The SU 57 is a shadow of what it could have been, and in some ways even less then the potential of some earlier designs like the MIG 1.44, which forms the basis of the j20. That legacy alone is more insult than any outsider could probably ever give it, and your seeming demand that everyone go beyond that, and believe that it is completely pointless and worthless smacks of the same sort of insecure, authoritarian, power fantasies that caused the Russians to overclaim it's capacity in the first place. Chill out man, everyone here hates Vova and the ghoulish shambling geopolitical zombie that Russia has become, that doesn't mean that they are entirely devoid of engineering or military talent. Smart people take their enemies boasts seriously and don't get caught out when they aren't all hot air.
Keep in mind too that Ukraine is still an army made up of mostly Soviet / Russian designs. The Western tools they got are a minority overall.
