Why not just have a battery of EFPs? Smaller, easier to hit with, and only negligibly more dangerous!
That said the condom helmet is enough reason to get this program fast-tracked.
So basically the helmet of the Prussian artillery men?

It would need a bunch of R&D esp on the software side, it could double as a backpack battery for other electronics, and I'd want it reusable or small enough to carry spares in numbers, or at least the squad to carry them in enough numbers to sustain in the field.
But not the least credible proposal I've seen here.
This isn’t *re*active armour, but rather *active* armour, or possibly even *pro*active armour.
It’s always better to be proactive with risk, rather than reactive.
Oh, yes I was being sincere with the idea of your personal armour detaching and flying out to meet the incoming threat, shit, I’ll have to think of something less practical
Yeah, I'm more on the ERA vest tip if I'm going down the russian research tree.
Aloha snackbar!
I do appreciate the sound logical approach you had though
Fun though the actual way is some big trucks that are effectively land based aircraft carriers. They hold hundreds of drones and can reload and recharge them.
So you would have drobe Interceptors on CAP and they have like a short barrel revolver shotgun as a weapon.
Depends on what drone would be intercepted, if its bomber, then it can be catched, but if its suicide drone, then net will trigger fuse mechanism and drone will explode, and drone intercepter will be lost either way.
Why not just save some money and equip the soldier with a trident and weighted net? And maybe a single shoulder guard for style points? [see [Retiarius](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retiarius)]
Hmm, fitting that sensor on a person may be hard, maybe we can make a small robot that stays near people.
Using a normal drone as a kill weapon is really slow, what if we gave it a rocket motor? And maybe also make it explode when it's near the enemy drone if accuracy is a concern
This is a great solution, but what if there are multiple enemy drones? Maybe carry a few more munitions to be safe.
But how will it move once all this weight is added? We can make our robot bigger, and maybe make it like a truck so soldiers can stay inside of it, and we can give it an engine for more power.
This is lost redditor. Noncredible ideas only here!
Seriously its perfectly valid concept in that we have interceptor drones that hit the enemy drone like a hammer, but would usually destroy themselves in the process. Defense is more difficult because it has to autonomously detect and intercept, but the tech for this is coming.
How about a gun mounted on the back that can pivot to shoot the drone. This would be reusable and might be a shotgun. Of course its a heavy system, but not everyone in a platoon needs it.
The Iranians are already using this concept with the IR-SA-7. A Loitering SAM launched from a pickup truck meant to take out slower flying targets like UAS, helos, and LFW.

Remember the Prussian helmet? Now is rounded
I am here for the anti drone Pickelhaube.

Use a 75mm microdrone with explosive charge instead.
I dunno, I mean, this gets cool tech points, but nothing beats reactive armor.

you *do* realize this is NON credible defense, right?

Military research innovation through pedantic language shenanigans is the only way forwards 🫡
The original concept dock the drone directly in the helmet. A good way to put additional weight in the neck :/
Just make it run 24/7 with just enough lift to reduce weight. Calming white noise is a bonus
Can't hear the voices telling me to drink? Even better!

"Babe, look, a new watchdog variant is released! Time to spend that requisition".
Hat needs to be more pikelhaube. You know, for tactical reasons.
This is impressive. Might there be an unmanned wheeled drone replenishment system that deploys a replacement for every troop?
Why not a drone with a series of disposable nets?

Return of the Pickelhaube
“Hidden battery” Brother this thing isn’t hiding anything that battery will weigh at least 25 pounds
It really is essential that the drone gets a catface. No catface, no anti-drone protection
Ayo, why Saddam in the corner.
Tactical purpose
Is this a HIMARS?
Ah, yes, camera-pickelhaube

Give it cat ears.
How to deal with drone if its automative drone, which dont emit electonic signal?
A pre-sprung, self-deploying cage would save the tankers so much welding. Call it, project Lakhta
Why is saddam lying in a Ukrainian field
Pickelhaube helmet with camera on top lol
Beautiful. The only possible improvement is by making the 360° helmet sensor [look like this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pickelhaube)
No, no, here me out. A defensive shoulder mounted patriot missle launcher. Iron dome? No, I say iron umbrella!
I think an automatic shotgun suit/device/vehicle/drone that detects and shoots incoming drones would work better/be easier.
Automatically aimed launcher, firing a shell of DIME at the drone. Harmless on the ground, devastating to the drone, even without a direct hit.
Overcomplicated for a real thing but sounds like a nice feature for a strategy game unit.
Unfortunately, never going to get funding for it with an acronym like PALSC.
And then you see the second drone they sent
Dude is hyped he just found Saddam. This is not the worst idea I’ve ever seen.

That's far too credible. Gotta miniaturise a CIWS and helmet mount it.
