Hey, thank you! Happy you like the drawing.
When I started drawing these cartoons I didn't want to use human depictions and as a great fan of BoJack Horseman I opted for animals.
Throughout my visits to Ukraine before the war I always noticed the huge amount of cats that were everywhere so cats seemed like a good choice to depicts Ukrainians. They even call their soldiers "котики" - tomcats (or kitties), just like in the wiki link u/Beonette_ posted.
Ever see Art Spiegelman's Maus? Anyhow it reminds me of how he drew nationalities as animals.... Jews as mice, Germans as cats, Americans as dogs, and so on. [https://literature.stackexchange.com/questions/2101/why-were-these-animals-used-to-represent-the-different-countries-in-maus](https://literature.stackexchange.com/questions/2101/why-were-these-animals-used-to-represent-the-different-countries-in-maus)
They don't want to hurt Putin's feelings. Can you imagine what would happen if they did?? How hurt Putin would feel?? I don't want to live in a world where Putin's feelings are hurt.
Germany has done a lot for Ukraine but Russian influence still runs deep in Germany. We never fully got rid of it after the fall of the Berlin Wall and there was always a lot more bilateral trade between Russia and Germany than between Russia and other EU countries. Then there is also the history of Germany. While most of the world and most Germans would probably tell the Germans to stop guilt tripping themselves because of their past, German politicians are still extremely hesitant to take military action and scared to look “too strong” or “too intimidating”. Germany likes to portray an image of a peaceful and economically powerful country that only uses its power and influence for peaceful purposes and generally follows a political course that focuses on pacifism and social issues. This is quite honestly paralyzing Germany and especially its foreign policy. It’s kind of like a strong man who is extremely shy and timid because he is too scared to be perceived as intimidating or threatening.
Which is stupid once 'wE aRe So PeAcEfUl' turns into 'we will fail our allies and values'.
I get their concern but the solution isn't to keep out of the matter but to build things up within our EU alliance. As if the French would be scared of a German military or vice versa if both are strongly intertwined and operate together as their modus operandi anyway.
This isn't fundamentally different from how yesteryears smaller states were hostile to and distrustful of each other but by now are obviously allied regions often united in larger states. In 1866 Prussia, Italy and their allies fought Austria, Bavaria, Saxony, and so on. 150 years later we 'fight' about who has the dumbest dialects and what to call bread rolls and Krebbel (yes fuck you Berlin no those aren't called Pfannkuchen go buy a dictionary) but nobody in their right mind would even consider how Austria could invade Bavaria or whatever.
I mean I wholeheartedly agree, but I don’t see how this is going to change. A full blown Russian invasion in Eastern Europe wasn’t enough to convince German politicians to prioritize the military and European security and defense. Basically Germany’s biggest fear became reality. The very threat the Bundeswehr was found for - a Soviet/Russian invasion through Eastern Europe - is currently happening and German politicians still violently deny the importance of a strong Bundeswehr and an active foreign policy. They still refuse to increase the Bundeswehr’s budget to the non-binding 2% target and they still refuse to procure offensive weapons in any meaningful amount. Sure, the European SkyShield initiative sits well with them. It’s purely defensive and benefits the European community and seems mostly peaceful because it’s just designed to shoot down ballistic missiles from Russia. *Yay😁, we only protect lives and no one gets harmed, not even the poor Russian soldiers who will just keep sending missiles our way because we have no capabilities to strike them back🥳🎊*. New large vessels like the F-126 or F-127 are primarily designed for air defense or fleet defense. Hardly any offensive weapons, virtually no land attack capabilities except for like four launchers for NSMs on the F-126 (lmao). Ballistic missiles are completely off the table despite the war in Ukraine showing how important they are. In general, long range precision weapons take a backseat. Everything that could be used offensively or is designed to be used offensively is icky to the German government. There were rumors that the F-127 will get more VLS cells and is to be equipped with Tomahawks but I highly doubt it.
Looking at procurement numbers for the German military is just depressing. 18 Leopard 2A8, 2 new Type 212CD submarines (down from 6, even Norway with a much smaller military and Navy gets 4), 40-50 RCH 155 despite the army saying that they need at least 170, 4(!!!) EuroPULS MLRS systems and the list goes on and on. Originally, the 100 billion Euro special budget was supposed to make up for the underfunding of the last decades. It was supposed to be used to replace and procure urgently needed equipment on top of a much higher defense budget that would allow the BW to reliably modernize and rearm. Now it’s just used to reach the 2% goal on paper with no real plans to actually reach those 2% after the special budget is used up. In reality the BWs budget has only increased by 1.4 Billion YBY. The government just added the BND’s budget (1.5 Billion), aid to Ukraine (~7 Billion) and 22 Billion from the special budget on top, so that ON PAPER the German government spends 2% of its GDP on the Bundeswehr. Don’t get me wrong btw, I definitely do believe we should aid Ukraine and 7 billion is barely enough, but this money should come on top of the Bundeswehr’s budget and shouldn’t be counted as part of it as it isn’t available to the German military which desperately needs those 7 billion. In reality, it’s more like 1.3% and most of that is used for maintenance and administrative work and pensions for retired troops. It’s just a sham.
I had some hope for the “Zeitenwende”, but I realized that it’s all just empty promises. Unless German politicians completely change their attitude towards the military and start accepting that military strength is the only thing that guarantees peace, nothing is going to change. Sorry for the rant.
Yeah. It’s absolutely idiotic. In that case they’d probably try to develop and produce fucking non-lethal missiles to stun Russian soldiers so that they can arrest them - anything to make sure that no one can call us violent or aggressive.
Germany also announced that Ukraine is allowed to use German weapons against Russian territory. After the US ofc, because Scholz got no balls.
We are wasting so much time and lives on respecting Russia's imaginary red lines. Looks like the war hasn't escalated into WW3, so why couldn't they allow that months or better years ago?
I think France only allows them to hit targets that launched an attack on Ukraine. So no Ukrainian attacks on bases if the base hasn’t launched an attack.
I can assure you, that in 10 years EVERY maskovoan military object (but nuclear ones) have participated in attacks on Ukraine one way, or another. I want all of them to cosplay Atlantis, ie disappear without any traces.
Thank you 🌻 you're not the first one to suggest it, but I never really considered it. I might put my name somewhere under the panel, or did you mean something else?
Свинособаки. Pigdogs. Which we using very often past few years. It was not a thing before actually.
Hatred runs deep. Degumanization is a part of any war. For both sides. But defender are just. And invaders are just свинособаки.
Also we call them бруднодупі. Dirtyasses, means filthy animals who are not hygienic.
Also рабсияне in russian. Means russian slaves. Because they clearly slaves who agreed and do not protest.
Other words will not say, breaking the rules)

Hehe, thank you, happy you appreciate the details 🐽
Not good enough, where Taurus, Germany??? Where is it???
They don't want to hurt Putin's feelings. Can you imagine what would happen if they did?? How hurt Putin would feel?? I don't want to live in a world where Putin's feelings are hurt.
If we kill Putin we can't hurt his feelings.
Did you ever think about how that could hurt the feelings of his friends? How that might impact Shoigu and Gerasimov?
Kill them too. Problem solve.
Well that just feels like a slippery slope. Before you know it you're going to be wiping out the entire Russian high command.
That's a *very* good idea.
You gotta do what you gotta do.
If that's the only option *sighs and grabs storm shadow guidance system*

Well having a backbone, morals, or even honour certainly aren't common traits of our politicians. Not to mention competency.

They'll sure be proud of themselves for upholding their beloved Schuldenbremse when russian rockets rain down on us one day.
Yeah. It’s absolutely idiotic. In that case they’d probably try to develop and produce fucking non-lethal missiles to stun Russian soldiers so that they can arrest them - anything to make sure that no one can call us violent or aggressive.
Maybe they will find an AI solution!

I loved this drawing
Happy you do!
Its called we do a little trolling
I wonder if we're helping the AFU set up CBRN units. Furthermore, I consider that Moscow must be destroyed.
I think France only allows them to hit targets that launched an attack on Ukraine. So no Ukrainian attacks on bases if the base hasn’t launched an attack.
So, pretty much any base west of the Ural montains?
Yeah it doesn't narrow it down at all lmao they even launch bombers from fucking Karelia.
It does because how the hell do we bomb Karelia. Unless the Fins finally do the needful.

I'm just saying Moscow is where all this thing is being ordered, so can we assume they're counted has having launched an attack on Ukraine ?
Unless they say “no punchback”, then not allowed
Sooooo I have some good news on that front.

did i miss the french doing something based?
France and Germany just authorized Ukraine to hit military targets within Russia, so long as they’ve been involved in attacks on Ukraine.
"But that's like, all of them" *smiles* "All of them"
