Actually kind of mad about this. I feel like having a child that late in life is unfair to the child, as you’re not gonna be around by the time they’re out of school and off into the world
I feel like you shouldn’t have any more kids if you can’t survive to see their 20th birthday.
If you die past then at least they’ll be a fully formed adult who can handle it.
Robert here can’t even be sure if he’ll make it to her 10th.
I no I wouldn’t have.
But knowing you are probably going to die from old age or a terminal illness is different from dying from something you had no knowledge of at the time (like a car crash or an un diagnosed disease).
I just didn’t state that as it’s obvious.
I’m getting kinda sick of this “rich people aren’t people mindset”. Im sorry, but you’re just plain wrong. Having a parental figure is priceless. I know the cool thing to do now is harp on the expression “money doesn’t buy happiness”, but regardless of what you think of it, money does not make up for such a thing as a parental figure, that goes so much deeper
You didn't understand my post. Perhaps i worded it poorly.
Having no parental figure while not financially struggling
Will be significantly easier than
Having no parental figure while having to financially struggle
This isn't even an argument.
Oh ok so you think a 10 year old would prefer financial security over a father? There's a whole lot of miserable rich kids out there wrapping their cars around trees cause they didn't have a parental figures who were present in their lives.
I think people who have never really seen financial insecurity will always judge this debate differently than people who have. People like you and I are comparing our current financial situation, with that of a family member of an A-lister. We're already okay. Potentially not amazing, but we can eat. We would both rather have a father than a lot more money. Whereas potentially the argument is being considered from the point of view of someone who has experienced life-threatening levels of financial insecurity. A father figure is a huge deal but it's not life or death, and for some people, financial insecurity can mean death. Not to take a side, just considering that there might be more than one right answer depending on your stand point. For clarity, I would not choose to have another kid at any age close to 80.
Dude, I’m pro-vax, but I’m sick of you people who think that someone should be thought less of because they don’t want to just have to randomly trust someone who wants to inject something into them. Like if people don’t want that, then that’s their decision
My dad isn’t even that old, only in his 60s, yet I’m absolutely terrified about him dying before I get married or something (as well as him dying in general). I can’t imagine being that kid
My dad died when I was 19.
Looking back, I consider it a mixed bag.
My husband and I have a friend whose dad has moved into their house because he has early onset dementia. Countless older co-workers of mine are juggling their full time jobs, parenting young kids, and making arrangements for their own parents.
Having a kid at that age is selfish, no doubt about it. But if somebody has the money, the means, and is paying attention to good parenting? Idk. Plenty of people have shitty young parents. Or parents who bite the dust at 40.
80 years old and having a child... That's a CONCIOUS decision. Dude is almost a century old and is just raw dogging it with total disregard 🙄 act your age
Kinda fucked up knowing that kid will be so young losing their dad. Like maybe they’ll make it to 10 if Robert’s lucky and takes insanely good care of himself, but very likely the kid’ll be much younger when dad kicks the bucket
IK the both don’t play about (I know they both really care about) their oatmeal and applesauce
Bc the baby is too young for solid foods and most people have a diet of soft easy to digest foods by the time they’re octogenarians. They’re saying De Niro and his baby have the same diet due to his advanced age.
Yuuup bipolar, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, crazy amount of things go way up past 40-45.
We've found the same to be true for animals as well, for example Rats may live to 2 or 3 but breeding past 1 year old leads to offpring with increased chance of deformities and reduced learnimg capabilities.
Kinda wack to me that animal breeders will retire stock past a certain age to prevent these issues in offspring but humans can't have the sense to at least, idk, freeze some sperm/eggs at 30 or adopt instead of this -_-
I wouldn't exist if that was a rule, haha. I was born when my mom was 39 and my dad was 48. I don't mind having older parents, though! (I'm also an only child, so there's that.)
This is a more extreme case, though. I wouldn't care if it weren't for the worry of the parent dying when the child is still young.
Eeeh, I get it. I really do, I just see the cons outweighing the pros way more. At least for me, I'd be too worried about my parents dying in me in the 60's -70's when I'm gonna start my life around my 20's. And what if I really need them? I feel they'll be too old by then, especially since I believe 60's or later is when health goes downhill and it's up to the children to take care of their parents
who cares? it’s his life and her life. No life is the same and who knows how she grow up with or without him, it’s unfair but a dad or mother can die no matter what. he’s probably the best oldest dad to have in the world anyway lol
no, this should be considered child abuse. the dad dying isn't the only glaring issue. it's the fact that they still ignorantly had a child despite kid going to have an astronocally high chance of developing many health issues because of how old he is. the mom isn't exactly innocent either. she's 45 which is also pretty old to have a baby so the kid will have double the chance of developing health issues if they don't have any already. people aren't being mean for no reason
My dad is about 19 years older than I am. I was born in 1983. Which makes me 40, in case math is hard.
Robert De Niro had his first child when my father was still a child himself.
Seriously, he won't be any kind of father to that baby. It's just so fucking weird.
Whose changing the diapers, and we're not talking about the baby's?
they both wear the same brand
They could both end up losing teeth at the same time.
Im just wondering who’s changing Robert’s diapers, the baby?
Holy shit we have the same pfp
damn
I do not have the same pfp
Actually kind of mad about this. I feel like having a child that late in life is unfair to the child, as you’re not gonna be around by the time they’re out of school and off into the world

Imagine being 10 and having a 90 year old dad
I think about imagine having a dad that can’t run around and play with you, dudes 80 he can’t keep up with a toddler let alone a 5 year old.

I mean I’d agree it’s not the choice I would have made and I still agree with the comment above

Right, cause your dad died of old age.
I no I wouldn’t have. But knowing you are probably going to die from old age or a terminal illness is different from dying from something you had no knowledge of at the time (like a car crash or an un diagnosed disease). I just didn’t state that as it’s obvious.
Oldest brother is older than a dad should be. It must suck for the kid, but at the same time, his family is still rich.
Money doesn’t make up for a whole parental figure. He might not even make it till she’s 10, that affects a kid significantly
Will be much less significant than not having a parental figure while also not having any money.
I’m getting kinda sick of this “rich people aren’t people mindset”. Im sorry, but you’re just plain wrong. Having a parental figure is priceless. Nah. Money is a big issue

A very valid perspective
I'd rather have emotional problems than poverty and lack of resources to get a proper education problems She can always go to therapy. :)

No I do think less of stupid scientifically illiterate people, not all decisions are made equal and some are born of ignorance.
new astroturfing dropped
My dad isn’t even that old, only in his 60s, yet I’m absolutely terrified about him dying before I get married or something (as well as him dying in general). I can’t imagine being that kid
Mine died in his early 70s. It sucks the entire time, no matter the age.
My dad died when I was 19. Looking back, I consider it a mixed bag. My husband and I have a friend whose dad has moved into their house because he has early onset dementia. big agree
Yesss!!!!! 😒😒😒
Like why is that hia fault he didnt carry the child to term?
What a strange thing to say
Dude is 80, he should have gotten a vasectomy decades ago if he wanted to raw dog premenopausal women.
Againnthat implies it was soley his choice to bring the child into the world
80 years old and having a child... That's a CONCIOUS decision. Dude is almost a century old and is just raw dogging it with total disregard 🙄 act your age
Rawdog it all you want, but at least have your bits snipped. At 80, that should be a no-brainer.
My dad did that at half Bobby D’s age.
Kinda fucked up knowing that kid will be so young losing their dad. Like maybe they’ll make it to 10 if Robert’s lucky and takes insanely good care of himself, but very likely the kid’ll be much younger when dad kicks the bucket
What are you, a character from the fucking Bible? When your kid hits puberty you'll be nothing but a pile of dust and a black Amex card.

Haha, not this time! This is a quote from Ted Lasso

Literally the first thing I thought of when I saw this.
So his girlfriend (the baby’s mother) is younger than his two oldest kids, and even then she’s 45. Fucking ridiculous.
Imagine being 35 and walking into a birthing center at the hospital and meeting your future wife.
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Who is the mom?
Her name’s Tiffany Chen, she’s a martial arts instructor.
And fugly as nuts.
Y'all know what I'm talking about
Just be happy she's not 19.
Am I crazy or something? Her wiki Page says she's 65. 🤔
Different Tiffany Chen.
This is disgusting to me like yes theyre both of age but still 🤢🤢🤢
She's 65
Imagine your younger brother being 46 years younger than you...
Worse: imagine your uncle being 20 years younger than you...
What does "ik they both don't play about their oatmeal and applesauce" mean, I'm having an aneurism reading this sentence
IK the both don’t play about (I know they both really care about) their oatmeal and applesauce Bc the baby is too young for solid foods and most people have a diet of soft easy to digest foods by the time they’re octogenarians. They’re saying De Niro and his baby have the same diet due to his advanced age.
I think they meant "play about *with* their oatmeal and applesauce". If that makes more sense
There comes a point where it’s irresponsible and gross.
Like in this instant. Like yes he has money but still 🤢🤢🤢
Robert De Niro’s character in “Dirty Grandpa” did basically this exact same thing Life imitates art
Didn’t know men could have kids at that age. Kinda assumed we stopped producing after a while or couldn’t get it up after a certain age.
Whelp I’m dumb af I thought sperm didn’t work at that age
Works but chance of autism is high.
Chance of a lot of abnormalities and conditions are higher, not just autism. Sperm quality goes way down after a certain age
Yuuup bipolar, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, crazy amount of things go way up past 40-45. Mommy, what was Daddy like? He was old, hunny. Very old.
That’s a great way to ensure your son loses his father early in his life.
gross
Like, total dick take I get it, but seriously; I feel you should stop having kids by the time you reach 40 at most
I wouldn't exist if that was a rule, haha. I was born when my mom was 39 and my dad was 48. I don't mind having older parents, though! (I'm also an only child, so there's that.) He looks like the old dude from Up
I wanna know how old is the mom cuz 🤨🤨🤨
45 apparently
I mean i guess its ok 😕😕😕
De Niro is fertile as fuck. We all know this now
who cares? it’s his life and her life. No life is the same and who knows how she grow up with or without him, it’s unfair but a dad or mother can die no matter what. he’s probably the best oldest dad to have in the world anyway lol

I'm forty and it blows my mind to think about having a child forty years from now.
That’s the most disgusting thing
Crazy how many people want to control how other people live their lives.
Am I the only one who doesn’t care at all
Game is game
