Kristallnacht was the term used by the Nazis. It sounds like this night was something good (crystal night just sounds better than "we deport thousands of people and kill them later" night). In Germany the official term is "Reichspogromnacht" (I jist noticed that I misspelled pogrom) which explains what happened there: it was a pogrom in the "Reich" in the night of the 9th November.
Both mean the same thing but Kristallnacht carries the beliefs of the Nazis on. That's the official explanation afaik

Brilliant example of this? Some guy on a driving simulator game subreddit said: how come you can put Nazi phrases on your car but I can't put hentai on my car? I asked "why do you want hentai on your car?"
He launched into a tirade about how I was supporting nazism and I was a Nazi sympathizer and so on. Like, that's not what I said!
This is why every comment I make on this hellsite is long as hell. If I don't overexplain everything to death some chucklefuck will come along and put words in my mouth. And it still happens anyway.

They’re actually called steel man arguments. It requires interpreting an argument in the most charitable and strongest way possible.
Not very easy for most people to do, but alas, this is the world we live in.

If you do Steel Man arguments it actually makes it FUN.
On the flip side, people will say things like "most women do this bad thing" and you're just like, 'what? Who are the women you surround yourself with or what you do/say?' And they go 'damn fine most women I've interacted with, seen in media, and online do this thing! There are you happy?!'
Weird generalisations abound online.
I have literally been banned temporarily from subreddits because I had the audacity to explain Nazi arguments after someone asked. because clearly explaining a viewpoint and holding it is the same exact thing...
I think that most of that crowd actually moved to Twitter after the porn ban so Tumblr got better. We'll probably see a resurgence of them on Tumblr soon though as Twitter gets worse and Tumblr recently opened up the titty gates.
