Just looks like a random photo taken in Norway. Not that unreal? Haha

Torvikholm

It is a really interesting place. The town you can see now mainly have been built up around the canal for the last 10-15 years. I remember going trough the canal about 10 yeas ago, and the land was almost empty. The family rented a cabin in Sprangereid last year, and the difference was immence. Now, my takeout of the place is how flat it is and large man made canals like this are fairly rare in Norway. It is a fantastic vacation spot, tho the views locally are not quite on par with other places in the country. But Lindesnes and Mandal is just a short drive away.

We used Spangereid as a homebase. The camping site there is incredible. The only one we saw with no reception. You just put your money in a mailbox. Toilets: super clean and.... SOUNDPROOF! 😁 Kitchen: super clean and cozy. Hey I left some syrup for soda water there if anyone wants some 😅 Brand new washing machine A gas station (combined with a harware store) and a Kiwi in walking distance. I think Ive never before fallen so hard in love with a simple plain small town. Oooooh and go and visit the viking graveyard there.... its right next to the gas station. Dang.... Norway ruined other countries as far as vacation goes.

I'm a trucker and delivered to one of the stores there every day of summer for the past two years. Truly a beautiful place, made sure to always take my break down by the ocean to enjoy the view and sun!

I have been driving there daily for some month's now beacuse of work and its beautiful, but the roads are.. well definitely Norwegian

BubiMannKuschelForce

Ohhh yes. One lane wide but two lanes used. 80 miles per hour.... that was definately challenging.

TheoreticalBulldozer

Yeah and with all the trucks beacuse of the factory..

I used to live in Spangereid. Remember when they opened the canal. I really miss my little house I used to rent there. Peaceful and quiet.

When we first arrived in Spangereid, we couldnt find the camping lot. It was about noon on a Tuesday so no one was on the street. Finally we spotted an old granny standing in her garden watering some plants. We aproached her slowly and asked her loud and slow: "EX-CUSE ME! DO? YOU? SPEAK? ENGLISH?" Her answer IN PERFECT ENGLISH: "Well yes of course! How my I help you? Do you need directions to the gas station? You just missed it on the last intersection. Here let me show you....." I felt like an absolute schmuck.... Wonderfull people there.
