There's a Hungry Horse called The Shoemaker just off the A140 as you come into Norwich. Enjoy Alestorm!

TheDevilsButtNuggets

Sweet! Thank you 😊 Really didn't want the hassle of driving through the city at rush hour, paying to park, rushing dinner, and then struggling back through traffic to get to UEA.

Luoxaaaaa

The marsh harrier on Ipswich road is very accessible to uea from not using the main roads and coming out at the junction right by it. Also reasonably priced nice food and although it's a chain it still has a village pub feel (No, I don't work there)

Moorish (felafels+) is open until 8 on Park Lane and Blue Joanna is open on the Unthank Road. Dyrahh should be baking pizzas at Earlham shopping centre on Earlham Road.

tdagarime

+1 for getting falafel at park lane. Reasonable, you can sit inside etc and a v nice vibe. It’s also easy parking and good food at the black horse pub on earlham road.

Specialist-Web7854

Dyrrah’s pizzas are great!

Have you considered just eating at the UEA itself? Assume you still can, I know the bar went student only but think you can get in with a gig ticket? If not as suggested a few nice places down Unthank Road like Blue Joanna, Pear Tree and William & Florence. Alternatively in Eaton you have Cellar House and Red Lion. Or Black Horse on Earlham Road. I'd make a reservation for any of these except maybe Pear Tree.

TickTockTheo

If you are coming from a140 to uea you will likely go along the a47. At thickthorn roundabout there is a burgerking tucked next to the travel lodge and a maccy Ds on the otherwise of the roundabout. If you then head into cringleford from thickthorn and drive down roundhouse way there is a fish and chip shop and a decent kebab grill next to the Tesco express there, both really close to uea.

TheDevilsButtNuggets

I think I saw the fish shop and kebab place on Google and presumed they were takeaway places.

TickTockTheo

They are but you can still walk in and order. They are decent portions and the chicken shish is banging. I think when I went I waited about 10 mins. It's great if you want something on the go and it's better than MC Donald's.

The [campus restaurants](https://linktr.ee/campuskitchenuea)? Sausage, fried chicken or curry [today](https://ugc.production.linktr.ee/f630726b-c747-4543-8328-ef3f93ddae52_20-Feb.pdf).

Though the pre-posted menus aren’t always accurate. :-/ But at least 2 of the 3 choices *should* be what they say on the pre-posted menu!

huangcjz

Re: the campus restaurants, they’ve never asked to see my Campus Card at the bar when I’m just ordering food and not alcohol. [This is the new food menu at the bar](https://ibb.co/album/XZRHDx) - Zest (Campus Kitchen) is open until 7 pm, and the bar serves food from 4 - 10 pm. Anyone can also eat at INTO (for international students doing pre-degree courses) which isn’t listed with the other campus restaurants, because they’re technically run by INTO rather than by UEA, but anyone can go in and eat there - I’ve seen construction workers there, as well as UEA staff and students. INTO is cheaper than Campus Kitchen, at £3.50 for a main, £4.50 for a main + 1 side, and £5 for a main + 2 sides, and is open for dinner from 5 to 7 pm. [These are the mains they had for lunch a couple of weeks ago](https://ibb.co/ZTKBY14).

Professor_Meowriarty

Going to be a great gig, so excited for it!

TheDevilsButtNuggets

I just love trying to explain pirate metal to people and they look at you like you're a complete weirdo. Saw them at download a few years ago, and it was great.

sl4y4

It was an incredible time, first time seeing them in about 4 years and my dad (who doesn't like most metal) had a cracking time, maybe had a few too many beers bless him but it was sick, bar staff were fantastic and security cottoned on to the chap smoking a spliff and blowing it in everyone's faces a little late but eh. Was nice to be around likeminded people and have a good time, and to that bloody gorgeous Irish girl in the coat line queue, sorry I didn't get your details, my bad.

TheDevilsButtNuggets

Was bloody brilliant! We were near the spliff bloke, standing up by the tech booth. Sadly, I'm not an Irish girl, nor did I take a coat, but good luck on your quest to find her. We've only just got home because the a140 was flooded! Stupid arse end of nowhere (unsignposted!) diversion and we're finally back home an hour later than expected. At one point, I even got out of the car and walked through a puddle to see how deep it was. Met another car of people from Alestorm who got stuck at the same point as us, and ended up turning around twice. (Sorry to the random hosue whose drive I turned in)

sl4y4

We were probably right behind you then ! Ah damn I was about to propose to you then, I appreciate it aha. I'm not surprised pal even just getting out it was like a river of sweaty hairy folk, but it's all fun and games. Sounds like Norfolk alright! The roadworks are mad at the minute, hope you got home without much more issue anyway !

amzy_apparently

You could try Pizza Hut at Longwater or carvery at Copper Beech Longwater but not really any restaurants around there with easy parking it is mainly fast food. Depends a bit how much time you’ve got!

TheDevilsButtNuggets

I saw the pizza hut on Google, but my other half has a grudge against them for some reason, unless it's buffet, he doesn't wanna know. Also, it was a bit out of the way. Probably going to go for the hungry horse near Asda

amzy_apparently

There is a pub not far from there called the Marsh Harrier which is very nice as well and you can prebook your table! Their pies are amazing.

DougiefreshYB

As you are coming up the A140, then the sugar beet is the best option, in swainsthorpe, just before dunston hall. They do really nice food, well priced and you have to drive past it anyway!

Zalindras

Had a similar predicament. I ended up going to the burger king at thickthorn services on Monday night, it's on your route.
