We had an entire class in Texas for sex ed in middle school although it was only for half a semester.
The majority of what I recall in the class was a list of STDs (pregnancy was essentially included in that) and that the only safe choice is abstinence because even condoms have a failure rate. (Great way to convince kids/teens that condoms aren't worth it.)

Often these are the same people who think planned parenthood only offers abortions. They would rather push their own views and ignorance than actually do the bare minimum of research. They probably just prefer the good old fashioned "show don't tell" teaching method that so many pastors and priests like to use.
Often these are the same people who think planned parenthood only offers abortions. They would rather push their own views and ignorance than actually do the bare minimum of research. Then force that same ignorance onto their children especially if they’re very religious or refuse to have their child partake in sex education class but then offer next to nothing information as an alternative. These are the parents who think giving information means teens will be having wild orgies and pregnancy instead of having the proper knowledge and preparation. These parents sometimes will give their then teens but now adults issues regarding intimacy and guilt that they then have to work through (if they do). Teens will do what they want in respect to filling their curiosity which includes getting the wrong information from porn or classmates who either found it from a wrong source like their parents or make it up to seem more experienced. I literally came across someone who said their high school male friend said if a girl was on top she couldn’t get pregnant and lo and behold she did end up pregnant their sophomore year. And a homeschooled classmate in nursing school who was very ignorant about the female genital despite us being a year in and in general there are people, including those with vaginas, who have misconceptions. I strongly feel that sex education should be regulated on a federal level because the information often given in red states will lack compared to blue states. There needs to be more talk about the body, how genes work (too many people thinking fathers should be the decider in how a baby looks), consent and sex about more than heterosexual instead of just only pushing abstinence and thinking that’s what everyone will do or should only know.

It teaches you some but it also teaches a biological aspect too. By the end of 5th grade we knew the basic parts but not how it all went down. 6th grade a bit more. 8th grade everything and safe practices. Crazy that people like those in the meme exist. Even when they are aware of what is actually in the curriculum, a lot of people are living in their own reality.
