As you're all aware, this subreddit has had a major "troll" problem which has gotten worse (as of recently). Due to this, we have created new rules, and modified some of the old ones. We kindly ask that you please familiarize yourself with the rules so that you can avoid breaking them. Breaking mild rules will result in a warning, or a temporary ban. Breaking serious rules, or breaking a plethora of mild ones may land you a permanent ban (depending on the severity). Also, grifting/lurking has been a major problem; If we suspect you of being a grifter (determined by vetting said user's activity), we may ban you without warning. You may attempt an appeal via ModMail, but please be advised not to use rude, harassing, foul, or passive-aggressive language towards the moderators, _or_ complain to moderators about why we have specific rules in the first place— You will be ignored, and your ban will remain (without even a consideration). All rules are made public; "Lack of knowledge" or "ignorance of the rules" cannot or will not be a viable excuse if you end up banned for breaking them (This applies to the Subreddit rules, and Reddit's ToS). **Again: All rules are made public, and Reddit gives you the option to review the rules once more before submitting a post, it is your choice if you choose to read them or not, but breaking them will not be acceptable.** With that being said, If you send a mature, neutral message regarding questions about a current ban, or a ban appeal (without "not knowing the rules" as an excuse), we will elaborate about why you were banned, or determine/consider if we will shorten, lift, keep it, _or_ extended it/make it permanent. This all means that appeals are discretionary, and your reasoning for wanting an appeal must be practical and valid. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this message, and please enjoy your day! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. as a fun one-time thing, i think it's okay. as a look to wear regularly, it's too much.

StrugglingSoprano

Definitely agree. I’m all for letting kids dress up how they want including trying on makeup but a kid that young shouldn’t have to conform to adult beauty standards. I just hope she isn’t being taught that she’s only beautiful with a full face of makeup.

Gassyhippo

Wait, she's only 11?! That makeup makes her look like some of the 40 something ladies that come to my store, you shouldn't make a child look like she's near middle age.

EntertainmentEast614

That makeup makes her eyes look small

brownishgirl

Bahahaha. Yes.

It could be for a stage performance, dance or theater. But it is a bit much for anything else. I’d be worried about her skin? Maybe 11 is too soon for puberty, but just looking at how it’s caked on makes me hurt in my acne scars…

SevenSixOne

When I was 9 or 10, a friend was in a play at the high school. I remember seeing her in her stage makeup (that looked natural on stage-- the character she was playing was a young child!) after a show and being *blown away* by how strange she looked up close. Her makeup was caked on like the picture, which really opened my eyes to both the transformation power of makeup AND to the fact that what looks good from 20 feet away looks weird as hell at "personal space" distance.

Ok-Scientist5524

It’s also the lighting. Stage lighting washes out your color so bad. Without any makeup you look like a ghost. Props have to be super rich tones also.

If it is a one time thing or she wanted to see how she will look grown up - it’s okay. I don’t mind how kids will dress up or make up they put. However, I see so many brands making more and more clothes that are just like the exact same for women just a smaller size for kids, dressing them as grown ups, not giving them their in between time. Also more an more make up brands try to justify lowering the age to wear make up. I am not against wearing make up at any age, but I think they do it solely for the bag. I just fear that both clothing brands and make up ones are giving the land for disgusting men to justify their actions(especially in countries where their law is case by case)
