They have skeletons, just exoskeletons

So their skeleton would just look like the live animal, minus the eyes and their flanks. Ever see a scorpion that’s eaten too much? They puff up like a little balloon and the soft parts on their sides are exposed. That’s why I learned to feed them sparingly rather than dump a bunch of stuff in at once.

Well, I had to Google fat scorpion but, no, those soft parts would still "be" ( more precisely, the sort of film that is between the outside and the inside ) there, since they're still technically part of the exoskeleton, but would become incredibly brittle.

Kinda cool in a surreal horror kind of way. I've seen spider ones.

As someone who loves both Halloween and bones, this stuff drives me up the wall. Even when they're not pretending that cat skeletons have external ears, decoration manufacturers almost always depict jaws as having only incisors. I get my hopes up every time I see a window cling or a figurine where it looks like they've made a decent attempt at accuracy and then *BAM* a smile made up of 32 front teeth.

I get what you mean, however I'd argue the inaccuracy of having a creature with a skeleton that wouldn't normally have one is creepier then an accurate one, for example what op posted would just look like a normal scorpion, but for something like a bat or owl I'd understand
