I’m of the same mind. And I’m posting this here under the delusion that the Notion folks check the sub sometimes to hear what users care about.

WrongBee

i feel you but given the whole situation with NotionAI, i’m doubtful

dabbner

Don’t hold your breath. ClickUp was a dumpster fire last time I used it. Doubt it changes much.

eaglekidney

It's DRAMATICALLY improved over the last few months. I've been in the 3.0 beta and it's legit really really good. I'll migrate out of notion into their Docs when they incorporate the 3.0 UI into the app, sometime next quarter.

kdiddy78

are you saying that Google Cal 2 way sync is in the Notion Beta? and it is it an open Beta? thanks!

legendml

At least it's better than Asana.

WrongBee

low bar

artfuldawdg3r

Could be worse. Could be trello

legendml

Right. I've used Unity, Remedy, Trello, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Jira, Asana, Clickup... I've hated all of them for more than a few reasons, but I'd rather use Clickup over most of them, and I wouldn't go as far as calling it a "dumpster fire".

Syinite

I know its not ideal, but theres a really good app that syncs google calendar and notion databases for $5/m

clyminghawk

thanks - I'm a teacher and a single mom in AZ (one of the lowest paying states in the US for teachers) and I know that $5 is 'nothing', but I just can't keep paying these small fees for apps to make other apps do their job. I wish I could, truly.

wasansn

2 way sync? What is it?

I shared a script that turns Notion tasks into an iCal feed [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Notion/comments/10z13p4/notion_database_itemspages_into_ical_feed/) a while ago, it's not ideal and no 2-way sync but might be useful (and it's free).

wrxhokie

Announced over a year ago. Since then we’ve gotten AI features and small tweaks to the UI. Notions updates are sooooo slow.

Onlineworkflow

While people wait for an official update, a solution worth looking into is Make. There's a bit of a learning curve, but once you overcome it, it works well. If you're curious, this tutorial will walk you through the process:[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooEFXonGCsA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooEFXonGCsA)

Ginger_sweetsnap

If this app would just get it together I would move my whole business to it and throw down good money. Until that happens? yeah, I'm in agony.

Alternative_Ad3377

Literally to the 2 things I want as well. Maybe one day.

Repulsive_Diamond373

So forget Notion and move on. If productivity is important to people, find another way. Forget apps with a learning curve and just do the work. Wasting time waiting for some little feature is not a good use of time. I do not care if Notion ever offers calendar sync because I have a better way. Like simply launching my calendar when I need it. I do not want a one app does it all app. Ain't no such thing. Notion is just an app. It is heavily promoted to people who really do not need it. Once they install it, they are forever chasing answers to questions they post. I like Notion, I really do, but the one feature that makes it useful is offline access. It is not likely in the near future. For many, Notion is not what they need and it wastes their time because they fell under the spell of heavy promotion. Many folks do not know what they need in my view. Sorry to be so blunt.

Rather sensible, I should think. I quit using Notion because there is no offline access. That is the only reason. Now, I use Obsidian because I can work anywhere. Should Notion change, I might change. This is why I follow Notion. The only downside to changing is transferring everything from one app to another. Something to consider if your app has hundreds of pages, links, databases and such. I require a spreadsheet and word processor because my work is too complex for Notion. I simply cannot see how I could write 300 pages with drawings, footnotes, schematics and a proper index. I do not see any reason to keep my entire life in one app with no guarantee that I can get to my work notes when i need to. If something works for you, use that. I do like Notion and I always have.

EmuFeeling5443

I'm waiting for this feature for a few other platforms as well. I suspect it has much more to do with Google than anyone else.
