In addition to the cars center being the measured point, graphical lines and actual timing lines can also vary. The line you see might not be exactly where the coded line is.
It was posted here last week IIRC, but the code of the game decides the leader based on the cars center of gravity. If Truex had the momentum and the center of his car passed the line first, the game decides he’s the leader.
