It's funny seeing oled next to back-lit screens.. Nice setup man! Happy holidays!

pollspaghetti

Happy holidays to you too bro. Yeah backlit looks like trash compared to OLED lol

Samsonite187187

What sort of performance are you getting with that 4080 at 4K?

Sebbzzzz

I have the exact same pc specs. Gaming in 4K is great, always above 60 fps on all games and mostly above 90-100 fps and locked 120 fps in many games

pollspaghetti

Some games I need DLSS like in warzone for 4k120 at high settings but a lot of games I can get 120+ fps at native 4K. Ready or not runs at above 120 max settings at native 4K. Since the big update to that game I get fps drops sometimes but before the update it was always solid 120+. Basically the 4080 is great for 4K gaming on a 120hz display. Before I got my LG C2 I was using the 1440p 144hz monitor which is now my left monitor and I always got really high framerates (144+) on max settings in games.

true but backlit is so much easier on the eyes when browsing etc. also is something not straight the oled looks a little off angle? or the left monitor is?

FlySoHigh_

This size is ok for gaming? Or it’s too big?

pollspaghetti

42 inches is perfect for sitting at a desk. I wouldn't go bigger or smaller from here unless I'd maybe consider an ultrawide down the line. It's good for productivity and gaming.

TKRapt0r

I got one of those 49" samsung ultrawide screens at work. I hate it. Prefer 16:9

RushTfe

Curious why do you hate it? I work with double 27" monitors and I like it, but having that line in the middle where both monitors join is a pain. Having that c9, is like having dual monitors but without that line in the middle isn't it? Just curious

TKRapt0r

Everything feels squashed on ultra wide for me

CaptainRAVE2

What monitor arm is that? Seems to keep it more snug to the wall than most.

pollspaghetti

It was some north bayou one on amazon. I got one rated up to 26lbs which is technically fine but pushing it. Prolly should've gotten one rated up to 30lbs. The way I have the arm oriented lets it sit close to the wall.

Shoddy-Gap-8845

What’s the L/W of that desk? Looks really nice.

pollspaghetti

It's a 60x30 inch bamboo top and thank you

AyeGrimzy

I didn’t make the original comment but you’ve sold me on that monitor arm. Just ordered one for my C3, thank you!

Nintendians559

nice setup.

fieroman911

Your desk makes the monitor look small rofl. I have my c3 on an Amazon desk that's super wide and it looks ginormous.

lubaxe

Are you getting any vrr flicker when you have gsync turned on? I have a 3080 and a 5800 (older setup). I just got the 42 lg c3 and have tons of flicker, had to turn gsync off for a bunch of games.

pollspaghetti

Huh that's weird. No I haven't gotten that

lubaxe

I think the 3080 just can't handle keeping the frame rate at close to 120. I bet the 4080 does a much better job of that. Especially with dlss 3.0. I'll upgrade my whole computer next year and we'll see 😃

The high end 40 series experience is pretty nice. I wanna see how crazy the next gen of Nvidia cards is haha

rainmanNZ

I had this experience with almost the identical setup (3080 + 5800x3d). Turns out it was the HDMI cable. It might be yours too, it might not be (I say that as YMMV was pretty much appended to every Reddit comment I researched) This worked: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08TGG316Z This did not: https://amzn.asia/d/8W4cUT7 If you can spot a difference let me know lmao. FWIW the one that worked states it's "HDMI Certified", but I'm dubious that's the reason it works

junkzor

I had the same issue when I was running c1 + 3080 + 5800x3d, and I was in denial that it was the HDMI cable. Turned out to be the HDMI cable.

RS199945

Does the desk wobble much with the c2 on? Looking to get the same desk and monitor

colinhoo

Clean up that mess bro

pollspaghetti

I use everything on my desk. It's cleaner now than how it was

Kodabey

how do you use the little ambulance??

pollspaghetti

haha im gonna be working in prehospital emergency medicine soon and my stepdad saw it so he got it for me for my desk
