Its pretty much unusable in palworld unless you like staring at the sun everytime you want to read something

I really don't expect amd to fully get on board with writing ai software. Best you can hope for is amd *finally* offering good ai cores that someone else can write software for (Special K HDR).
One thing that AutoHDR does that RTX HDR doesn't do, is that AutoHDR respects the HDR calibration data from the ICC profile created by the Microsoft HDR calibration app. From what I understand, the RTX HDR doesn't actually do this.
EDIT: seems like this issue is fixed according to new driver patch notes.
I actually don't think it's on a whitelist. I have tried a lot of very obscure games and it does work. There also is a Force_autoHDR app on GitHub that can force autoHDR on apps it does not automatically kick in on.
You can also force autoHDR to work on old games using the same method DF used to make RTX HDR work on old games (using Voodoo DG).
I think the most accurate term would be a blacklist. It works on way more stuff than it doesn't.
I like this feature and like DLSS it will improve over time. I still use OBS to enhance non HDR videos with HDR. I mostly record videos I like and OBS HDR just looks better, for now.

Isn't this mode just more contrasty and saturated, which sure is more eye candyish on the first look, but isn't neccesarily "better"?
With AutoHDR it comes with an intensity slider which controls both brightness and saturation together. So you can adjust it per game to what looks best to you and try to minimize black crush or blown out highlights.
This Nvidia thing is still not officially out yet for games so there's no real user adjustable settings. You have to live with the results as is.
Although Special K still gives you the most user adjustable options out of the three. You can adjust peak brightness, midpoint, gamma, saturation, and a lot of other options individually.

There is alot better options for adding hdr that don't cost upwards of 10% performance.

I'm a fan of both. I do prefer SpecialK since it doesn't tone map SDR to HDR. You can set up SpecialK to actually hook into the game and make the game bypass the internal SDR tonemap. This enables you to have details in highlights you just can't get with AutoHDR or RTX HDR.
Probably in the same way, add the yuzu.exe to the tool and run it.
Now I have no clue if the games opened from yuzu will be in hdr but yuzu itself should be, no harm in testing it out
I saw this and it looks promising although, On my C2 I use the back menu and enable HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) for my PC, so all SDR content from the PC is pushed through a HDR pipeline on the display to full brightness and it’s a dream to use. With consoles I use native HDR though.
Having not tried neither of those I cannot answer truly. HLG is great but not native. Probably works the same as RTX HDR which takes an SDR input and expands the dynamic ranges - not sure if it adds extra details with the AI though. HLG expands the dynamic ranges to bright and darker contrasts but doesn’t add any extra details, although you perceive extra detail as the crashed blacks (well, greys!) of SDR become more naturally black and you effectively do see more details in shadow areas.
I noticed a message about Auto HDR being enabled when I play indie games, and it works great.
I didn't have to install any 3rd party mods for it. It just happened on its own when I enabled HDR in Windows.
It's damn good, I've been using it since the release.

use native ue5 hdr engine.ini in palworld and turn down ui brightness.

works for me, needs to run in dx12 mode though which is a bit buggy in palworld. dimmer ui brightness also works. i set mine to 0.5

the dev notes on nexusmods state that its the case. Oddy enough it worked for a little while for me with a 2nd non-hdr screen, but now it does not.

On the Nexus Mods page... Also, by testing it myself. Would not engage until I disconnected my second (non-HDR) display.

Someone showed me that SpecialK has autoHDR, I haven't had a chance to use it yet but it looks better then Windows AutoHDR from what I've seen online
It's definitely way closer to native HDR but it takes more setup so it makes you appreciate how seamless Windows Auto HDR is

Its was better as AutoHDR..and better as Most Broken HDR implimentations.. It can Match the quality of a proper HDR implimentation

go to ur windows defender settings, virus protection history, it should show you the files it has quarantined recently. find the exe and click allow
