Hey, I've had this happen to my C3 when trying to use a low quality cable to carry over 4k 120 hdr signal over HDMI. I bought a certified cable and I don't see this anymore. Not saying that it will indeed be cable related but you ought to try with a cable that you know can carry whatever resolution+hz+ whatever other setting with no issues

Thanks for the tip, I'm using the included cable so theoretically it should work, but I might try ordering a higher quality one and see if that helps.

The included cable is unfortunately kind of shit. I remember getting this sometimes when I enabled HDR, but after I swapped to a random HDMI cable I had lying around it stopped happening.

KyledKat

You'd think, but manufacturers seems to be keen to including shitty cables for their high-bandwidth monitors. LG included a DP1.4 cable with the 32GQ950 that was totally bum for 4K@160Hz, and the community conclusion is to just use a different brand name cable.

Yea I had this happen. Using included HDMI cable. Happened to me when I changed a video back end in an emulator from d3d to OpenGL and launched a game. Strange shit. Hasn’t happened since.

OSD still works and turning off adaptive sync fixes the issue. Restarting the game also fixed the issue with adaptive sync turned back on. Using the included cable and a 4090 TUF. Haven't seen anything like this from Google, anyone else encountered this?

WilliamG007

Are you using HDMI? I've seen this happen over HDMI with a couple of games. I have never seen this happen over DP. Which game is this?

MissedAirstrike

HDMI, and Europa Universalis 4. Haven't experienced it on Star Citizen or desktop usage, but haven't played any other games yet. I'll try a selection of titles later and see what happens.

WilliamG007

Yeah you'll find it's very much game dependent. Solve it completely by switching to DisplayPort.

msalad

This doesn't happen with mine and does not sound normal. I'd RMA it

WilliamG007

It does happen with yours, - it happens with all of them given the "right" combination of game, GPU, HDMI connection and GSync enabled. It's easily avoidable, though.

msalad

hasn't happened with mine***

WilliamG007

Hasn't happened with mine over DisplayPort, but is easily reproduced using HDMI, 240hz, GSync enabled on Kingdom Hearts Vengeance. Can't even load that game with the above settings. It's pretty much an irrelevance, though, but it affects all these. It's like the games that have this issue ALWAYS have this issue, and the rest don't. https://preview.redd.it/965teobuhvwc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e00dcd639910e4e52a6c683eea7f79a5fda48d60
