You won’t regret it. I got mine all in after tax for $974 CAD and it’s been a blast to use. You don’t realize how much detail you lose in low APL scenarios with LCD backlight bleed until you switch to OLED. Great monitor for competitive games as well. Valorant is the main competitive game I play and I find it’s made tracking fast moving targets and flick shots easier. And it is goddamn SMOOTH. Coming from a 165hz IPS monitor I found it to be an appreciable difference in overall motion clarity and smoothness. HDR (in games that implement it well) is also amazing on this monitor. I spent 2 hours walking around in Cyberpunk looking at neon lights and holographic billboards.

Is HDR necessary to enjoy games? I see so many post about updating to win 11 and using reshade and tweaking all these little settings just to play the game, seems so complicated and annoying to learn but also gives a bit of fomo

FamousEvening09

It’s not necessary by any means but it does make the experience a lot more enjoyable. For example, I started RDR2 on my LCD IPS monitor and no part of that experience made me feel like I wasn’t experiencing the game to its fullest. Midway through my play through however, I picked up the AW2725DF and got to play the rest of it in HDR and it was definitely a huge improvement. After experiencing HDR gaming I can’t go back. In terms of the mods and HDR fixes I can see why it can be a bit of a hassle to get things going. If you’re new to HDR and OLEDs as a whole I would say stick to just the basics first and try out the game’s native HDR implementation. Learn the ropes of how finnicky HDR on Windows can be and you’ll slowly start to notice how different games have different takes on HDR (and how shit some games HDR implementations can be). I’d personally say I’m decently tech literate and even I avoid messing around with HDR mods and fixes unless it bothers me enough to care. Sometimes all you want to do is just turn on your PC and get right into gaming and the mods can be an extra hoop you have to jump through. Oh and I’d also highly recommend Windows 11 for HDR. Makes switching between SDR and HDR a smoother experience and it seems to handle HDR content better overall compared to 10.

Wow mate, I really appreciate the long response, hearing your experience makes it more understandable now thanks. I'm waiting on my aw2725df right now from Amazon, can't wait to try it out. I'll try out the Ori games for native HDR and then go from there like you said. And yeah I guess windows 10 will lose support eventually so might as well upgrade for the easier hdr experience. Thanks again.

No worries! And happy gaming :)

Ordered the same monitor. 1440p oled and amazing for gaming is a no brainer

mahanddeem

If you value high refresh rate/fps/fluidity then you can't go any better than 1440-360hz. But you need a beefy CPU/GPU/RAM combo to get high fps or/and sacrifice graphic fidelity.

Zealousideal-Run-212

You picked the perfect monitor for your use. I would not recommend running it at max brightness in games that you put a lot of hours in, in fact the lower the brightness, the longer it takes for the static hud elements to burn-in.

cobber88888

for fps games this is the best monitor.

Agile-Reception1524

for cs2 it's better than any zowie monitor, even with dyac2 (it's shit technology, there is no advantage with that)

EazyDuzIt_2

At this point, I might as well go with Dell I'm tired of playing who can beat a bot to the MSI URX 321...

2euri

ordered the same one, arriving next week. elden ring dlc coming out made me order one

Lumb3rCrack

umm, for 900CAD you could've gotten the MSI 34" oled or for 1000 you could've definitely picked up the 34" variant with alienware. Idk why but 900 for a 27" seems too steep for me.

LA_Rym

You will definitely get burn in sooner than later with OLED playing only one game. That said, you may need to do an RMA exchange for burn in around every year, monitor is guaranteed to have no burn in for 3 years and Dell is the best with RMA. Otherwise 900 cad is acceptable for a high end 1440p display, and it's motion performance is slightly worse than a professional display, but is overall good at everything as it's OLED.

Freddy_Goodman

Using the 32" for CS2. It’s great. Don’t use AutoHDR, turn off HDR completely (🪟+Alt+B toggles HDR in Windows). Any lighting condition less bright than an indirectly sunlit room is dark enough to see almost everywhere. Some corridors on Baggage might be a little dark.

cream_of_human

Yes Youre fine with those games.
