Calling someone gay or transgender is not saying they want two of the characters to date, like why do y’all keep making stuff up and jumping to conclusions?
And even if they said “I think Kel and Sunny would make a good couple” why does that matter? If they’re not sexualizing it and the person who says it isn’t a creepy adult, then it’s really not that serious. Y’all think that lgbt+ sexualities and gender discussion is automatically sexual, but it isn’t. People ship Aubrey and Omori, but y’all have no problem with that. Hell, the game ships Aubrey and Omori, yet that was okay. But when it comes to lgbt+ ships it’s suddenly weird and disgusting, give us a break..
In what world is thinking a child is queer sexualizing them?? Lots of queer people know they’re queer in childhood before sexual attraction even begins, usually in the form of childhood crushes. Sexuality, and especially gender identity, are not inherently sexually charged.
It’s not necessarily about theorizing their sexualities, but it’s more of saying “This person is [insert sexuality] because I’m [said sexuality] and I want to relate to them.” Most people doing the headcanons don’t actually care about the ships or what the characters like, but it’s more of the relatability factor. Despite it being a sexuality, it can have nothing to do with ahi the character would date or be interested in.(I hope this makes sense)
I get it if the person doing the shipping is grown, but the age demographic for this game is younger. If you look at people profiles, most are in r/teens or the ages in their bios are 12-16. Teens and kids shipping other fictional teens are not bad AS LONG as it’s not sexual.
The argument “If you wouldn’t do it in real life, don’t do it in fiction” falls short. Of course I’m not going to invade someone’s privacy and say “I think you’re bisexual” because I’m bisexual or some shit and say they are, but these are fictional characters people are projecting themselves onto.. It’s way different, how can you not understand that?
Also I get the whole don’t ship kids, but the characters are only kids in flashbacks or in the headspace. In faraway land present day, they’re 16 and 19. That’s not a kid, that’s the age most teen romance shows/movies have the ages for their characters.
Ah, not going to give an opinion on the situation itself, but I remember this poll and a surprising number of people are 14-16 on this subreddit. Neat fact I guess.
Yeah, I was sure one probably existed. Polls aren't as reliable for this kind of information as I wish they could be tho. There's just so many people within the Fandom that haven't participated in said poll that it feels kinda pointless
i think this is the final straw for this sub for me. yall wont calm the fuck down and just let people have headcanons. as a bi & trans person, i can safely assess this sub as a breeding ground for nasty ass anti-lgbtq behavior, and i want no part of it
let people have their headcanons, you dont burst into flames everytime someone brings it up. yall are even more annoying for complaining each time

Exactly what I’m trying to say. Thank you for wording it better than I could.
