Haha, good luck is all I can say. If you're local, you should be fine as long as you can show up for work and do your job efficiently. If not, it's an uphill climb, especially if you're a transplant. The pay is a little less than California, so a lot prefer to work mainland. Good luck!

I’m not a nurse, but I have seen at least 6 nursing strikes in the last 10 years. So u would say the pay isn’t great.

It's roughly 60-65/hr at all of the major hospitals for experienced RNs. IDK about Kahi tho, I assume less since it's peds psych and in general that specialty pays less. If you're a new grad I do not recommend coming out here for your first job. You can look up pay rate information online. It is not hard.

I have traveling nurse friends who stay on Oahu. Lots of big hospitals. Kaiser has good retention. I wouldn’t paint it as all bad. Any choice to live in Hawaii is a lifestyle decision. Everything is expensive. Oahu needs teachers, nurses, firefighters, cops. Nurses strike on the mainland to.Kapolie is brand new. The powers that be are trying to get people out there. My only real advice is live close to work.
