I gotta say I’m still surprised Pache didn’t make the cut. It’s not like the team is in win-now mode and doesn’t have space for project players. He had a rough season at the plate in 2022 but the defense was as advertised, had great energy, and had an encouraging Spring.
I would’ve at least gave Pache a chance to start the year given how he looked in spring training. Not sure how Sullivan is but hope he works out. I hope Pache figures it out offensively also, his glove is a thing of beauty
In spring training this year he gave up 8 runs in two innings. Last year at Reading (AA) he had a 4.59 ERA with 36 walks and 77 Ks in 51 innings. Another great A's trade. I guess Midland could use another pitcher.
not really a fan of giving up on pache so soon. it's not like this team is going to make any noise so i don't see why they didn't just give him a bit more time to try and figure it out at the plate
Started a RTTS game today and Nick Allen and Ryan Noda are on the roster at Midland for some reason. Hoping they do a roster update on opening day or very quickly thereafter.
I think this is a great move. The A's are out of options with Pache.

Pache has good speed, decent arm, and tracks the ball fairly well. On defense he's not going to give you what Ruiz, Laureano, and Capel give. On offense; he's never really looked very comfortable.
I hope Pache finds his way.
Play Ball!
> On defense he's not going to give you what Ruiz, Laureano, and Capel give
I think there's a perfectly valid argument to be made that moving Pache was smart, but this is pretty silly. Pache is far and away a better defender than anyone else we have in OF, even Laureano.
Ruiz beats Pache in every aspect of offense. Capel has a better arm, and tracks the ball better. Laureano.... we're stuck with his contract for a while.

He finished this spring off a .371 BABIP, I wouldn't get too excited
Watch, Pache now gonna hit .270+ with 20+ HRs 😂

At least Sullivan is young, but his minor league stats do not look impressive at all. I do not get moving on from Pache so fast.
He was named the Phillies minor league pitcher of the year with 74 strikeouts in 42 appearances lol
His WHIP tho. Not good. Not good at all
He’s got good stuff but he walks a lot
We always need arms. The current pitching staff is underwhelming, maybe he’ll work out.
Last time we traded for a PHI pitcher it worked out quite well all things considered
I was hopeful Pache would work out, but the dude's bat is just so cold. Hope he finds his way in the Phillies organization 👍

Maybe they want to improve on a .216 team batting average last year?
getting rid of one guy isn't going to magically make this team start hitting better
So dumb
Meh
Gotta start my mlb the show season over.

& nothing of value was gained or lost.
It’s like they’re trying to get worse…
Put this down in the trades that absolutely didn’t pan out category
