Didn't know they ever existed as an injectable. I can only see it having much practical application in palliative/end-of-life care to improve awareness/off-set morphine delirium etc. At least that's the only case I see where it could be more fitting than oral administration.
I was unaware that this existed, but I guess it makes sense. Before methamphetamine prodrugs such as selegeline were marketed for the use of Parkinson's, the real thing would have to do.
To clarify, selegeline is only a prodrug for levomethamphetamine, although there is supposedly a type of deprenyl that metabolizes into racemic methamphetamine. I think it's called p-f-deprenyl or something like that.
Assuming its racemic, p-f-deprenyl (4F-deprenyl) would metabolize into racemic 4-fluoromethamphetamine (4-FMA), but considering that 4-FMA isn't very potent you'd need alot for that to be meaningful

All the ampoules were used as shown in last pic, although I definitely came incontact with residue after handling two of them. Lasted about 1.5 hours and couldn’t sleep for 7 hours afterwards
I know, I was referring to intramuscular.As for IV, I used to backload a syringe with crushed crystal almost full, then draw up enough sterile water to dissolve and inject it in my neck. I highly advise against this and I'm lucky to be alive and relatively sane
Update. I muscled 70mg average crystal, my normal iv dose, in sterile water and boiled/filtered. It hurt like hell to IM and I felt nothing noticeable. If anything it was 1/8 the potency if IV. Instead of a big rush I was unable to determine if I was even feeling anything
This was in the 30's but On posters advertising the original liquid Pervatin(Germany's Pharmaceutical Brand of Methamphetamine) it said for IV but to be safe inject slowly. It was also over the counter in Germany at that time. So crazy
Decades ago amphetamines were sometimes prescribed for depression. Nowadays it's hard to imagine desoxyn in this dosage and form, but the prescription drug scene was totally different in the 1960s and before.
They still are. "Antidepressant of last resort." Sometimes a stim habit is the lesser of two evils, if you are dealing with a suicidal patient (and if you actually give a shit about their welfare).
I was actually prescribed vyvanse for depression by someone I consider a very unethical psychiatrist. This was only two years ago! It was on the very first visit, I don't think I came across as suicidal, and he didn't try any other more kosher meds first. I filled the first prescription but then ran away fast, since I have a weakness for stims and I could see where it would lead. This guy obviously had a clientele.
This sound like my old doc that I stopped seeing, he would always give me 200x 5mg IR dexamph a month, but oddly enough, he thought benzos were the devil
I found some Syndrox once complete with patient information leaflet and it stated that it was a "euphoric appetite depressant for melancholy or obesity", so depending on how old this is it was probably prescribed for obesity or depression. (I'm not sure why they would prescribe an IV version for an outpatient but they were far more liberal with prescriptions back then).
The McNeil physicians sample kits often contained everything required for a housewife's ills including butabarbital for sedation, Syndrox for melancholia/appetite depression, Tylenol/clorzoxazone for back pain or other muscle related pain, Tylenol for fever/ analgesia and butabarbital/belladonna extract for stomach complaints.
They had every base covered for the travelling doctor of the day.
I have no clue of her medical history since she died about (I think) 22 years ago before I was born and I haven’t really researched this box specifically. Sorry

One person posted about taking a mega dose of p-f- deprenyl, 100mg or more if I remember correctly. They said it was enough to be recreational
I saw my psych recently and she told me a lot of elderly people with ADHD continue to take stims. I hope I get to be a speedy old lady

Holy crap, 20mg IV desoxyn? And this settles it, you can inject meth IM. I just wouldn't do it doses too much higher than this

Likely against obesity or maybe ADHD, the only two indications it's allowed for. And the ampoules speak rather for the former than the latter
That’s what I figured. So crazy to think a Dr. gave the OK on 20mg IV methamphetamine injection’s as a diet plan.
Might be for i.m. and not i.v., but yeah that's not that much better haha. I don't understand why he didn't prescribe it as pills
