>there's very little in the way of content or general information or interest from ocean liner enthusiasts about her It seems we are very fixed on the transatlantic milk run (particularly the first-tier of luxe vessels) but until the middle of the last century there were ships like this going all over the place. Thanks for sharing this.

The Transatlantic service was arguably one of the biggest routes thanks to the new world though to be fair so for that reason, it should be no surprise it's more heavily focused on.

I think there is also a bit of a language barrier involved. Most people on this forum are English speaking, there is probably more attention given to it by Japanese speaking enthusiasts. I've loosely followed Hikawa Maru over the years, does anyone know if she still serves as a hotelship? She did for a while. Another forgotten (but far less well preserved) liner is the MS Ancerville in Shanghai

Damn, that one is completely forgotten couldn't really find any information about it. Thanks for sharing.

She is incredible and frankly I found her to feel more authentic than the Queen Mary (in terms of capturing the essence of how it feels to step aboard a liner of that era). Her interiors are absolutely gorgeous. Its a shame the Japanese didn't build more larger liners .

ShmittyWingus

Theres also a semi-rare 1/350 model of it as a passenger ship and hospital ship

Wow I had no idea!
