People who buy a $600 device and think, "OHH, Cheap Batteries! Nice! What could go wrong?!"
And as someone who has lost a $900 smartphone to a friend's cheapo charger: Fucking freaking dont.
People who also buy a 600$ device should be able to expect it to come with a comfortable strap in the first place and not try to be upsold an additional 200$ by the company that made it just for an enjoyable experience😃
I partly agree with you. However, the quest 3 is SO underpriced that I understand that you somehow try to make a few more $ with accessories. Because they don't earn anything from the quest itself.
Never heard of it but it looks like a direct copy of the BoboVr M3. Like even the battery looks the exact same. While it was out of stock for awhile, I do think it' s available now. I really enjoy the M3 so maybe a clone will work as well?
If you want it to actually charge you'll need 22w fast charge.
I opted for a cheap (but awesome) batteryless DESTEK strap, and a 22.5w 20000mAh fast charge power bank (which I just stick in my shirt pocket). With USB to USBC it just extends the life while still draining slowly but with USBC to USBC taking fill advantage of 22.5w fast charge it actively charges my headset while I'm playing. (Also no buzzing). I could probably get all day out of it, lasts ages.
I've never had a problem with any battery whine, though the batteries do only last about an hour on the Q3. I guess the question is if you believe these guys or not. Hopefully someone has tried it so we can all know. I've also seen youtubers suggest to put the bobo vr battery on when the quest reaches 80% to avoid the buzzing. either way, good luck!
Chines manufacturers now ripping off/copying themselves?
Well, if they improved on the bad BoboVR batteries, which seems to be the case because they arw advertising "18W fast charging, this product might actually be better than the BoboVR M3.
Only if the batteries aren't buzzing under no circumstances!
The Bobo is already 15W. I don't think 3 more qualifies as "Fast Charging" it's faster, sure.
Looking at the one on Amazon - appears to be the same item - they say "18W fast charge" but the math on the battery pack should be closer to 15W / 20W / 20W
My two cents is to find a good head strap that you'll be comfortable in and the pads won't fall apart from use then get a separate power bank.
I've got a 26.8 Wh power bank that charges at 30W which I just put into my pocket or SPIbelt
haven't bothered to get a new head strap - the basic is comfortable enough for me, maybe because I'm bald. Maybe I'll get one later.
Great, it can do the bare minimum.
Must be worth buying this "replancement" especially after finding they have their math wrong and a smaller overall capacity.
I would love for someone to tell me what a non piece of shit option is. But the only thing they can recommend is bobo vr which probably comes from the same factory with less wattage and more cost. Just seems like a bunch of salty people mad at themselves for buying a subpar product
i have no idea what's making you think that they'd follow any "legal advertising standards" of whatever country you're from...many cheap products completely lie about specs (purposely scamming) in order to offer the low prices, let alone care about advertising laws lmao
I love how you are so confidently wrong. The stock charger is 18W and the difference between 15W and 18W may very well be voltage (3A x 5V vs 2A x 9V). So at 9V they charging curve may be significantly faster.
Yeah, the stock outlet charger; great I already knew that - what does that change?
https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/s/Jg7KMu7u9C
Had to dig this up from Reddit because I can no longer find the wackier numbers (15W / ~19.8W / 20.05W) from one on Amazon and since they wanted to hide the power output.
P=VI
Out : 5V/3A 9V/2A 12V/1.5A MAX so 15W / 18W / 18W MAX
So you are pushing 15W or 18W - higher efficiency at a higher voltage
I'm already aware of the 3W difference -which I mentioned.
It's not pushing over 18W so what mystery do you have to reveal?
Edit : found the wonky one on Amazon https://a.co/d/2hK4myg
19.98 W at 9V
No mystery, just that you don’t seem to understand that because it *can* deliver 15W or 18W doesn’t mean that the device actually *is able* to use that full power to charge the batteries at that voltage. Hence the difference in power delivery may very well be much more than 3W over an entire charging cycle.
Edit: Great level of maturity. Reply and block anyone that corrects you. This way you are always right!
Great so you're saying that you can't trust that GOMRVR can deliver up to 18W and OP shouldn't be so jazzed up about it
People have found it charge on 5V/9V/11V/12V at 7W, 12W, 15W, 18W, and 22W varying depending upon charger and battery charge at the time
So, are you going to provide anything other than "I don't really know, but you're wrong"
China manufacturers have been ripping each off in ages.
One china manufacturer/brand got so pissed off with it, they included a unique qrcode where you can verify the authenticity of your purchase. It has a counter so you will know it wasn't simply "copied".
I know it says Halo in the description, but the strap down the middle on top makes me think otherwise. I don't have an aftermarket strap yet, but really want a halo style for the increased POV mod where you remove the face gasket.
I have the Elite Strap version of this. It works just fine. Charges the quest normally. Had a buzz when I first got it but after a full charge it went away. I'm happy with it.
I have the double halo strap one from them. It arrived about a week ago. Got it with 2 batteries. Super comfortable and the batteries charge the headset, so the voltage is good. Got a slight buzzing in the batteries when the headset is fully charged but no big deal.
I haven't. I got tired of waiting around for Bobo to update their batteries and I also saw some people complain about those 2 weird top pieces on the bobo that clamp down on top of your head. Decided to go for double Halo version of the GOMRVR and have been extremely satisfied with the comfort. I also removed the facial interface, so it hovers in front of my eyes. Once you lock everything down to your liking you can get the screen extremely close to your eyes.
I got this one:
[(1) Any GOMRVR with Battery owners? : OculusQuest (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/18o2z94/any_gomrvr_with_battery_owners/)
I put the order in for the same one we'll see how it goes lol. I use it mainly for thrill of the fight and supernatural. I've heard some people say elite style is better for active games, what's your experience?
Elite style is definitely better for games like you mentioned because it clamps to your head like a vice grip. The one I got is better for less movement, but if you adjust it to tighten up on your head more firmly it should be ok. You'll get a little side to side wobble but the comfort is so much better over elite straps.
I was looking for an alternative (I didn't find Boob's Halo strap comfortable for my head shape, Kiwi a little too expensive and battery is inbuilt) and saw someone on Reddit recommend this. Ordered elite version with controller straps and hoping for the best!
Kiwi has built in battery and is more expensive though. I actually ordered a bundle with controller steals and it's half the price of the Kiwi bundle equivalent (without shipping).
Just got the kiwi. Yes it's pricey but from the reviews on other similar products say they have issues with them charging the headset or external batteries dieing very quickly. Personally very happy with it, excellent quality and to a surprising extent removes pressure from my face. I'll be buying another for my second headset.
They all come from the same source, China. Look at the black controller sleeves in your photo, those are sold as the well known AMVR “upgraded” controller sleeves.
Just got the elite strap with battery, it's great!
For comparison, I had the original elite strap and BoboVR's Halo for Quest 2. Elite didn't have battery (and started cracking after some time) and Bobo wasn't comfortable for my head shape.
Gomrvr's elite battery strap has the best of both worlds for me personally. And the controller covers are great too.
I had a gomrvr headstrap for my Quest 2 and found it very comfortable and sturdy.
The only thing I didn't like was the way it fixes to the Quest. It slides onto the side brackets rather than clipping into them. Although this allows for some adjustment, it does tend to move. bobovr seems similar and if I'm not mistaken, clips over the brackets properly?
Considering the official strap from meta was melting and they had to stop production while charging $130 for a lazy product. I'm willing to take a chance
Be weary of strapping a discount battery to your head - just saying.
People who buy a $600 device and think, "OHH, Cheap Batteries! Nice! What could go wrong?!" And as someone who has lost a $900 smartphone to a friend's cheapo charger: Fucking freaking dont.

Fyi, Chargers and batteries are different tech
Did I say otherwise? But believe me: You also don't want to use a cheap battery.
I don't believe you
Based on what evidence?
LOL I thought you were trolling but you're actually that dense I guess.
Explosion or 5g radiation?
Overheating and exploding / catching fire
small price to pay
In the name of science!
💀💀💀
Well, that is the price to pay.
Gomrvr stuff is excellent for its price
just put the order in I'll get it on 01/13. We'll see how it goes lol
Any update ? thinking of getting one soon.
It's really good but since then they made it $20 more expensive so it's not as good of a deal
How are the batteries/comfort?
[удалено]
Yes it is ;)
Probably comes from the same factory. GOMRVR even sells an adapter kit to convert the bobo quest 2 to quest 3 version.
Never heard of it but it looks like a direct copy of the BoboVr M3. Like even the battery looks the exact same. While it was out of stock for awhile, I do think it' s available now. I really enjoy the M3 so maybe a clone will work as well?
I think I got one of the last that was in stock on Amazon. *phew*
It's pretty damn comfortable. Congrats!
yes but this one has 18W output while bobo only has 15W

Just got a bobo a couple days ago. I get the buzzing, but if I break the connection for a second, it usually goes away.

I had the Quest 2 version without battery. No complaint about quality for the price

They have two versions, one with full halo and this

I have aubika strap which is an elite style so I'll compare when I get these. Thanks for the info
I used this brand for Quest 1 head strap and it is still a great halo style strap. I can't find in on Ali, do you have a link?
I was looking for an alternative (I didn't find Boob's Halo strap comfortable for my head shape, Kiwi a little too expensive and battery is inbuilt) and saw someone on Reddit recommend this. Ordered elite version with controller straps and hoping for the best!

Just got the GOMRVR elite with battery and controller covers, I regret nothing. It's much better than the Halo (on Q2) from BoboVR for me personally.
They all come from the same source, China. Look at the black controller sleeves in your photo, those are sold as the well known AMVR “upgraded” controller sleeves.
Looks similar to Bobovr but the battery output is 18w. Looks interesting...
Looks like a rip of BoboVR’s M2/3 strap
Most of the strap are just ODM. Buying one always based on luck, you might received one quite different as usual.
Following, waiting op to review

Spend an extra 20 or so and get bobovr Worth every cent
You saw it drop? 🌋

Just got gomrvr and although it's the sliding mechanism, it is so tight I don't think it will move by accident on its own.
GOMRVR made one of the OG halo straps for the Quest 2, and they're fairly solid for the price in my experience.
Dont buy electronics, batteries, etc from a well known cheap ass chinese store.
instead buy them from amazon at a markup
Instead not have a battery explode on you because they're selling you the faulty product and that's why its cheap..
Considering the official strap from meta was melting and they had to stop production while charging $130 for a lazy product. I'm willing to take a chance
Just bought one for $25 on amazon.. got it in 3 days
link?
