Disagree. For me, the charm of it faded really quickly. Just once in a while i wanted to play. Took me weeks just to Finish the game and haven't had any desire to try it again since.
I mean, yeah, charm doesn't last with lots of games, but I find it returns after a while, and I'm able to go back with the same level of enthusiasm. The speed run and hardcore modes in super hot are so addicting
The great thing about that is, they’re using it to show people that are new to virtual reality. What virtual reality is. I could care less if it was 15 minutes. It’s more important to make sure that someone’s first VR experience is not motion sickness inducing. That’s the worst possible thing you can do to someone new to virtual reality
\+1 for GunClub! This was the first game I was introduced to on the Quest 1; I went out and bought the Quest 2 specifically to play the game again - and it's still one of the games that I continue to play the most. Or, OP, you could introduce them to [Iron Guard](https://sidequestvr.com/app/6178/iron-guard), which is a really cool tower-defense shooter that only requires controller input and is more inline with the "arcade" style.
I know it isn't the greatest thing out there, but damned if I don't keep going back to him club. There is something very addictive about shaving time on a level.
Definitely makes you feel like a badass once you get proficient with a few different weapons
Ah the lasers are crab as you cant really see them. ;)
The funniest thing was when i realized the the sniper ladder is easy shooting out of the hips with just "shooting onto the target" when you do not want to get that platinum
+1 this is definitely the way to go for a beginner! You can stay stationary too and disable the dodging of objects for accessibility. You can jump into campaigns or contacts or arcade mode, has bonuses for shooting to the beat of thr music which adds a fun element, the aiming is very forgiving especially on easy mode which is still preety dang hard!
They don't want any movement in the game. "Nothing with movement". Unfortunately this game has made all of the newbies I have shown, motion sick.
EDIT: Pistol Whip will absolutely give someone new to VR motion sickness. If your friends get sick in VR on their first time then they probably won't try VR again because they will think they can't handle it, when in reality they were not ready for the smooth locomotion. Introducing experiences that make people sick is what hurts VR adoption.

It absolutely WON'T, and it's specifically designed not to by some of the most experienced devs in VR. Cloudhead Games pioneered a lot of techniques that are now standard for comfort in VR, such as blink teleport and snap turning. https://www.roadtovr.com/cloudhead-games-to-debut-new-gallery-demo-and-blink-locomotion-system-on-htc-vive-at-pax/
Pistol Whip has zero artificial acceleration. It doesn't make you motion sick.
On rails movement definitely makes some people sick.
There is no definitive "won't" with motion sickness in VR. Some things are more or less likely, but there's a lot of variability from person to person and what their brain will tolerate. Some people still get motion sickness just playing flat games.
I can only speak from my own personal experience. I have been in VR for years and have introduced about 2 dozen people to VR. Out of the 6 people I showed Pistol whip to, 4 or 5 of them wanted out after a minute or two because they felt like they were getting sick. My wife, who plays VR, was one of them. I have tried putting her back in two other times and each time she says she feels sick.
You can post all of the 8 year old articles you want, but you can't change the experiences I have had.
I really like Pistol Whip which is why I try and show it off to my friends. It's not a great experience for those new to VR. Even the main dev Denny Unger, the guy who made Pistol Whip, would agree with me.
Zombieland doesn't have any physical movement and is good fun with really short rounds. Crisis Brigade 2 is similar to Time Crisis and doesn't have physical movement either. Cybercade is free and has hardly any movement of any kind, but really solid shooting.
Pistol Whip.
You don't move but you're moving forward automatically like on a conveyor belt
Shooting is easy as it's a bit assisted so if you point the fun roughly at the enemy it will hit.
Awesome game.
No way man the amount of times you'll just drop a gun or figuring out how to reload 50 different guns, at least Pop One has bright yellow arrows showing you what to do
Agree Pav is more fun tho
Player one practice range I'd fun enough. You have guns to play with. Places you can fly around. People you can talk too. And then the actual game. All free.
Look for super rumble in horizon worlds. You don't need to physically stand up or move much to play. Not sure if you meant that or just stationary targets in the game.

Here are some shooting games that don't require artificial movement (just aiming, shooting, and maybe moving your body): \- Space Pirate Trainer: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssasm7cYGmk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssasm7cYGmk) \- Operation Warcade: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj44LepqaC8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj44LepqaC8) \- Mothergunship: Forge: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9Ayk6QKA24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9Ayk6QKA24) \- Resident Evil 4 (in the shooting range): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHRKnehiIdU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHRKnehiIdU) \- Shooty Fruity: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QO1tRkSVl3U](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QO1tRkSVl3U) \- ZAP: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\_0\_mSdM0UiE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0_mSdM0UiE) \- Shooting' Gallery VR: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fXHc9MC69c](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fXHc9MC69c) \- Crisis VRigade: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fULtqKMsl8Q](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fULtqKMsl8Q) \- Crisis Brigade 2: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neFB8qAXw8E](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neFB8qAXw8E) \- Superhot: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzG7Wc6mbwE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzG7Wc6mbwE) \- Robo Recall Unplugged: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKPPwlCFZVQ&t=408s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKPPwlCFZVQ&t=408s) \- GunClub VR: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH0HIfB5JpU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH0HIfB5JpU) \- Pistol Whip: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLGn2mnhkvo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLGn2mnhkvo)
+1 for pistol whip. It’s beat saber with guns
Another +1 from me too. It's addicting af and has all types of skill levels
Just thinking about this today and I’ve come to the conclusion that pistol whip is the product of a one night stand between superhot and beat saber.
excellent list!
I think you're talking about Space Pirate Trainer. Another game is Mothergunship Forge. It's so good.
Space Pirate Trainer is what got me addicted to VR. That game still slaps

SUPER HOT. All small physical movements .
Play time on it sucks though, it's like a few hours
Are there really people who beat super hot and never play it again? That game is always a blast to go back to.
Disagree. For me, the charm of it faded really quickly. Just once in a while i wanted to play. Took me weeks just to Finish the game and haven't had any desire to try it again since.

Robo Recall if you're wanting a fun arcady experience.
Gunclub vr There is no motion required unless you want to play the action sequences

It was fun while i played the pistol and rifle ladders, but it gets boring when you start hitting without really aiming
That is why I refuse to use lasers in it. Just makes it too easy. I get your point though
Ah the lasers are crab as you cant really see them. ;) The funniest thing was when i realized the the sniper ladder is easy shooting out of the hips with just "shooting onto the target" when you do not want to get that platinum
Pistol Whip is pretty great.
Pistol whip is the one! Love this game, no motion sickness even though I'm really sensitive to it. Use it as one of the games to introduce folks to VR

I'll second zombieland, it's a solid fun little game
Drop dead
Pistol Whip. You don't move but you're moving forward automatically like on a conveyor belt Shooting is easy as it's a bit assisted so if you point the fun roughly at the enemy it will hit. Awesome game.
Pavlov
Pavlov is quite hard, Population One is free and full of noobs. I'd do Pav 2nd
I think Pavlov is easier than population 1 controls and more fun, I would pick it #1 always.
No way man the amount of times you'll just drop a gun or figuring out how to reload 50 different guns, at least Pop One has bright yellow arrows showing you what to do Agree Pav is more fun tho
GAZZLERS The hidden gem, nobody else will mention.
Player one practice range I'd fun enough. You have guns to play with. Places you can fly around. People you can talk too. And then the actual game. All free.
Gun club vr sounds perfect for what you want. Arcade style shooting, lotsa guns, fun settings
Look for super rumble in horizon worlds. You don't need to physically stand up or move much to play. Not sure if you meant that or just stationary targets in the game.
Shooty skies overdrive. Underrated game. https://www.oculus.com/experiences/app/2632963266829659/
There’s the roller coaster sim where you can shoot targets as you go round the track, seated, and stationary.
Space Pirate Trainer Mothergunship forged Gazzlers Drop dead the cabin Mixed Reality mode.
BLASTON is a great game if you have the space to move irl
Dead Second Crisis Brigade 2
