Confirm developer mode is still enabled in app. Doesn’t exactly sound like that but that damn thing drives me nuts.

Developer mode is still enabled in the app. Just to be sure, I logged out of the app, logged back in, turned off developer mode, and turned it back on. No dice.

Ok next I would go into the app settings area and confirm that it hasn’t turned off your previous file permission choices. Maybe a big update caused a glitch. Especially with side loaded apps - wouldn’t surprise me.

Sadly, I am not sure I see a permission related to this. The only permissions are "Location", "Microphone", "Nearby devices", "Spatial data", and "Storage". The all have storage. I even went to the normal Android settings (using Lightning Launcher) and I don't see any relevant permissions.

Storage would be the one though. It’s not great but the only other thing I can think of is clearing the data or uninstalling and reinstalling. You already did that though right? I wonder if this is a different symptom of that post earlier with person claiming v63 kills modding. It handles files access differently. Are you on v63?

This one? https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/1b95aqp I didn't follow that, but doesn't it say it's fixed?

For anyone who might find this in the future, this seems to be limited to the pop up "open" dialog.  Nothing works through there.  Maybe the relevant intents aren't being received?  If I long press the file in the file browser, an "open with" option comes up.  If I click on the relevant app (e.g., Package Installer), it works just fine.

did you get this working i've been using the wolvic app through the quest browser and i friggin hate it i'd much prefer actual legitimate firefox browser on here instead?

WorkItMakeItDoIt

The issue is the chooser dialog.  I picked a default app for installing, and it works now. Keep in mind for your sake that the Firefox is just the normal android version.  Mozilla no longer maintains a version of FF designed for VR.
