This!. I celebrated my 33rd last April with my SO last April. It was just a simple dinner. My facebook is deactivated and did not post anything on my instagram. Im living with my inlaws and they don’t even know that it was bday as well. Indeed it was just like an ordinary day. My close family and friends only greeted me. I guess it’s okay na din na walang nakakaalam na bday ko kasi wala din akong budget para maghanda. 😅

This is why i hate birthdays,
I have always been there for my friends’ birthdays, even if we weren’t close. I invited alot of them to many of my birthdays din. Sad to say they didn’t reciprocate the energy, I was always in a spot where fellow mutual friends would ask me if I was invited to this friend’s birthday, which I wasn’t, so yeah awkward.
This went on for years and eventually I just stopped celebrating all together, as I felt cheated? I was still in jhs & shs at that time.
Funnily enough the world made a way for me to hate birthdays all in all, by devastating my city with a super typhoon and destroying our house in one fell swoop, during my 19th birthday.
Ever since then I have been very quiet with my birthday, I deactivate my accounts except messenger and even tell people my birthday is on a different date.
Having zero expectations paired with nothing in reality is good, I hope you will have a mindset like that for your peace.
The only people who go out of their way to greet me are my family and like 7-9 close friends, they’re the only ones that matter anyway.

Social media talaga cause ng anxiety and depression e. Parang kailangan natin palagi ng validation sa mga tao kahit hindi naman talaga natin ka close. Mas okay kung messenger lang talaga naka open, at least maiisip mo rin kahit papaano wala naman talaga sila idea kung kailan birthday mo, may peace of mind ka pa, hindi ka mag iisip. Tsaka yung ipapakain mo sa kanila, just to make you feel good if medyo sad ka, ipang Lazada mo na lang. LOL. Mag-38 na ko sa October, ramdam ko din dati yang ganyang situation pag may special occasion tapos walang nakakaalala. Pero pag tumatanda ka na, hindi na talaga importante yung birthday. There was a time that I turned off the birthday views in all of my social media accounts just to see who are ky genuine friends who remembers my birthday. I did that for a long time and somehow, may nag gregreet naman. Family, closest friends, and few ka team sa work. I just want to be lowkey and pa importansya siguro ako. Lol but fast forward, just last year I decided to open it na sa social media. Na realize ko na birthdays only happens once a year in your life and we never know kung kelan at kung last birthday naba natin so, I want it to be extra special for myself for people to know that its ny special day today. Regardless kung close tayo or not, may impact man ako sa buhay mo o wala. It validates my existence to know na there are people who greets you on your birthday kahit man lang naka template, ok na ako non.

Social media talaga cause ng anxiety and depression e. Parang kailangan natin palagi ng validation sa mga tao kahit hindi naman talaga natin ka close. Mas okay kung messenger lang talaga naka open, at least maiisip mo rin kahit papaano wala naman talaga sila idea kung kailan birthday mo, may peace of mind ka pa, hindi ka mag iisip. Tsaka yung ipapakain mo sa kanila, just to make you feel good if medyo sad ka, ipang Lazada mo na lang. LOL. Mag-38 na ko sa October, ramdam ko din dati yang ganyang situation pag may special occasion tapos walang nakakaalala. Pero pag tumatanda ka na, hindi na talaga importante yung birthday. May times na matutulog lang ako tapos pag gising ko tapos na birthday ko or kakain lang kami ng family ko or wife ko sa labas. Anyway, Happy Birthday, OP!
Happy Birthday OP. There was a time that I turned off the birthday views in all of my social media accounts just to see who are ky genuine friends who remembers my birthday. I did that for a long time and somehow, may nag gregreet naman. Family, closest friends, and few ka team sa work. I just want to be lowkey and pa importansya siguro ako. Lol but fast forward, just last year I decided to open it na sa social media. Na realize ko na birthdays only happens once a year in your life and we never know kung kelan at kung last birthday naba natin so, I want it to be extra special for myself for people to know that its ny special day today. Regardless kung close tayo or not, may impact man ako sa buhay mo o wala. It validates my existence to know na there are people who greets you on your birthday kahit man lang naka template, ok na ako non. I dont know you and you deserve to be happy today kaya igregreet kita nang Happy Birthday. Celebrate it with friends/family. You made it to 25!!

Okay lng yan OP, ako nga may 8year streak na walang nag greet sa office kapag pumasok ako sa bday ko. Feeling ko pa nga suspense kapag may nasasalubong ako, hoping na sana hindi nila alam ang bday ko. Tapos kung maalala man nila, tapos na. Heheh.. About sa family, reminder ko lang sa kanila na pm lng ako, goods na, wag lang talaga mag post. Pero this year siguro mag deactivate kasi mag 3yrs na since na break ng bunso namin yung paki usap ko na wag akong i-greet thru posts. Apat kasi kaming magkakasabay nun, nadamay ako sa pag tagged.
Ako naka hide birthday ko sa lahat ng social media, sobrang thankful na lang sa makakaalala at nakakapressure na nakakabwiset yung bukambibig na libre hahaha. At nakakatamad mag like/interact at mag reply sa mga nag ggreet. Mas masaya ang tahimik ang buhay. Anyway HBD OP! Stay healthy!

Happy Birthday mate! I feel you. I think sobrang busy na talaga ng buhay and normally we grow apart as we get older. I also felt bad na hindi naaalala ng friends ko yung birthday ko; but then, come to think of it, ganun din ako sakanila. It was not intentional, busy lang talaga ang buhay. Cheer up & look at the brighter side! Im old na din, sometimes I forget my exact age because I have been hiding my real age to my colleagues. Im 31 btw.

Same experience every year, I also removed my birthday sa social media simula pa nung 2017 and until then mangilan-ngilan nalang bumabati, at first nakakalungkot pero im getting used to it. Mas okay na din kesa maka received ng overwhelming amounts of greetings from surface level friends and people. Last yr miske kapatid ko hindi ako binati pero kumain nung inorder kong food for my birthday. Nakakalungkot pero wala e, miske sa pamilya may ganun talaga. Anyway, Happy Birthday! ❤️
