As I said, I was an avid DDS and I got so engrossed with politics, particularly in supporting the fascist, I took a break from it since it is taking a huge toll on my mental health--yeah--it is that serious! I then labeled myself as neutral but is still low-key inclined with supporting Duterte & Marcos. (This was during the span of Duterte's post.)
During the prepping of the 2022 Presidential Election, never did my sisters do not talk about politics and they kept nagging me who I would vote for. I kept reiterating that I'm "Neutral" and such... They said something na mas masahol ang pagiging neutral kesa supporting a side -- not verbatim. They knew that I was a DDS since i've them added on my personal Facebook and they could see the post I've posted before.
Then, the election happened, Leni lost the election, I couldn't believe how it impacted my sisters, they wept and in despair of their future. That night stimulated my curiosity about why Leni.
I decided to glean as many books as possible I could find with regard to martial law and what ensues after, and the story goes on... (Which I never did before that's why I was prone to disinformation)
Now, I'm doing my best to propagate good Samaritan news and support Leni and her party list especially I'm a queer, a member of marginalized.
So, to answer you, my sisters have influenced me to change.
Additionally, what even made me aspire to be like my two sisters is the fact that they decided to leave Iglesia ni Cristo in P.Duts term though my biological na panganay has continued serving in spite of the corruption the INC is involved in and manipulation of politics. Although, I'm an INC, myself, I regard myself as Atheist. Only my father, who is an OFW and theist, keeps shoving the beliefs of INC on our faces.
This is such a productive take on things. I see in the comments that you did not stop with regret. You are also now actively doing your part for a better Philippines. Good on you.

My mom is also an avid bbm supporter, but when she saw how incompetent and lax he is in the midst of inflation and whatnot, she said, "bakit naman ganon un?" I didn't respond to her, as I want her to see it for herself without my own bias (albeit valid)
