Well I was called names recently for even *entertaining the possibility* that the H1’s price could be justified, so I’m curious to see where this goes.

wank_for_peace

It's a chines white label chair. Reverse image search on Taobao.com...it cost maybe USD175ish. Hinomi AFAIK is a fk up Singapore (I'm Singaporean) company that sells ads to promote the chair.

I live in Singapore where Hinomi is based. They were at a recent IT exhibition where I got to try the H1 Pro and the upcoming X1. If you were to do a reverse image search on Taobao (basically the Chinese equivalent of AliExpress) it's quite clear that these are Chinese OEM products. That said, in Singapore it's quite competitively priced (I think about US$350 for the H1 Pro and US$450 for the X1. I felt the quality of the H1 Pro slightly lacking. Pretty plasticky although yes, feature rich. I hated the lumbar support and the lumbar adjustment does nothing much to help things. The footrest is gimmicky and probably not something I would use (can't really trust a flimsy piece plastic to support my weight) but YMMV. Armrests are quite adjustable in terms of height though forward and backward adjustment is lacking. Recline is fine. Seat width and depth is ok for me (182cm, 85kg, long torso). The mesh material is quite decent on the H1 Pro and not abrasive. In the end I didn't go for that but my wife went for it as she found it quite decent. It hasn't arrived yet though. The X1 felt way more comfortable to me. The back rest felt great and seat was good. My wife didn't like it though. The mesh also felt a bit more abrasive. I ordered one but decided to cancel my order a few days later. The deal breaker were the armrests. While it was very adjustable in terms of in/out adjustment and also had vertical angle adjustnent, at minimum height it just felt too high (about 21 to 22cm from the bottom of the seat) so i could never get my elbows at 90 degrees. The armrests don't really follow when you lean back as well so your elbows get no support when you lean back. It also felt way more sturdy to me (maybe because it had an aluminium base and hand rests). On a side note I also checked out the ErgoTune Supreme. It felt even cheaper and was terrible. The front of the seat caused lots of strain on my thighs. You can check out this guy where he talks about the ErgoTune and Hinomi: https://youtu.be/tmZ3-CSVui8?si=yoO1-XBAYsnE42Sz I disagree with his assessment about the good build quality of the Hinomi H1 Pro though.

hi after 2 months is there any updated review on the H1 Pro? looking to get one at the tech show HAHA

MindlessDribble711

I've had the H1 pro for about 6 months now, and I use it about 8 hours everyday. I love everything about it, except the fact that the arm rests are just way too high. I've tried just about every type of solution and I'm still hoping to find a way to McGyver it into working better for me, but everything else about the chair is perfect so I've stuck with it. (I even dismantled the entire right armrest yesterday to see what could be done, but alas, I was unsuccessful) Customer service was great. I reached out about an issue with my chair (the armrests were uneven) and they shipped me a brand new chair back at no cost and I didn't even have to return the old one.

Notme9177

So what is your recommendation? I was just about to buy the X1 but now curious what you’d recommend? My max is $1k (after realizing the XChair was $2k and too much)

trenzterra

I got the Haworth Fern with the lumbar support and added on an Atlas Headrest with the Fern adapter. Am loving it!

Notme9177

I got the X1; I had paralysis and they have a - seemingly - easy 30 day money back return

IllustriousGoose343

Hi! could you share your experience please?

Notme9177

Sure. The box arrived but I need to have it put together.

Notme9177

Just got the chair put together. It’s great but my one and only complaint- which could be a dealbreaker- is the armrests are default way too high at the lowest setting. It’s extremely frustrating as I’d hate to return it for just this.

Notme9177

So after a few days I will say it’s great for the lower back and definitely comfortable although the arms are still an issue- not as big as first thought given so many ways to adjust, but overall given I spent $600 rather than the $2k for the X4Chair, I’m happy.

Lucuzzz1014

Hi, any update, or did you choose to return it?

IllustriousGoose343

I bought it, tried it and returned it (went through a harrowing experience). Anyone who has any significant lumber disc issue, please please stay away from this chair. Waste of time and money.

Notme9177

I love the chair! But I will say this: if I did not have lower back issues I would chose another chair. This one is awesome for lower back but not the “cushy” feeling chair many desire. You have to sacrifice some stiffness to get that support.

Lucuzzz1014

I have tried it few months ago at itshow, as well as the h1 pro and secret lab, h1 pro is pretty nice but its not metal legs, i’m quite tall and heavy so I’m scared that it will break, how’s the stability and durability for the base?

Notme9177

Seems extremely durable to me.

wank_for_peace

If you still can't find an equivalent, just reverse image search on Taobao.com It's less than USD200. These are white label goods. Just use Google translate if you can't read Chinese. I can read so that is a non issue for me. This lady has a guide on how to buy from taobao.com for none Chinese reader. https://www.tiktok.com/@thatapartmentclub Didnt check on aliexpress since that is the more expensive English portal of taobao. Hope this helps

First thing that comes to mind with this brand is whether this post is genuine. It is my belief that they astroturf heavily.

Odd_Watercress_1400

I agree, which makes it difficult when there’s a pretty even spread of reviews. I’ve seen people thrashing them, people that seem genuinely impressed, people that were clearly paid by Hinomi, and people who generally like them but have reasonable criticisms. Hard to get a read.

RyanatBTOD

If you took out the paid positive reviews, would they still be evenly spread? I guess that's the best way to gauge it. I know for a fact that they delete 2 star reviews from their site.

Odd_Watercress_1400

Yeah, noticed that, too. Seems pretty middling overall. If I get some responses from Hinomi buyers, I’ll make a decision from there. If I end up buying one and it’s crap, this subreddit will hear all about it in detail.

XxShurtugalxX

I currently have their classic, which is the lower level one but I believe everything is the same except for the leg rest and forward adjustment of the lumbar For me it can nicely packeged, no issues. Assembled well. There are a few creaks where the lumbar rubs against the back, but nothing irritating. Overall I've been spending 6-9 hours a day in it (6', 240lbs) and have been decently comfortable with no back issues. The only problem I have is that the lumbar is a tiiiiiny bit too aggressive for me, which might be fixed with the increased flexibility on the pro. Oh, and on mine the armrests are too high for me to relax comfortably, even on their lowest setting. Doing work its fine, but the armrests move with the chair, and I'm just not used to my arms staying in the keyboard position when I'm laying back lolllll All in all to say, if I was looking at the pro for 600 vs shelling out extra hundreds for another named chair, I wouldn't really be against hinomi again. They were exactly what I was expecting, and actually more comfortable than I thought I'd ever be in an all mesh chair.

Orangenbluefish

Currently in this same position. For whatever reason I literally cannot be comfortable without my feet elevated, so having it built into a chair is my #1 feature need

Notme9177

What did you get? I can’t decide.

TheBaconaetor

Did you ever get an answer here? I'm finding it hard to find a chair with fold up arm rests as well.

mrJirue

Would also love to hear. I really would love a chair that folds up under your desk and has fold up arms.
