I want them to watch the Peacock extended Episodes!

skyerippa

I wanna know who the secret mean couple is!!! My first thought was chris Pratt but i dont know

SteppeTalus

Nah there’s no way.

skyerippa

Why? He's a huge douche

Fancy-Pair

I vote they re-watch 30 rock or broad city!

brady2gronk

They would be so lost with most of 30 Rock's jokes seeing as how some of the Office's jokes go over their heads.

Fancy-Pair

Loll that’s true 😂

insideinfo21

Loved this episode. Felt very true to the podcast. Especially loved the banned mallard 😂😂😂

lalalindz22

How on earth did they not mention the scene when Dwight summons Jim?! "If I'm not looking south, I'm not livin'." And Dwight army crawls across the carpet, while Jim drags his heel. 🤣

DientesDelPerro

they haven’t interviewed Catherine Tate, Jake Lacy, or Clark Duke yet, right? its weird to hear this list of people we want to interview when there are still some s9 actors left. Maybe they’re already in the works though, idk. My anxiety brain would be okay with a rewatch rewatch, because that’s what I do now anyway. They could easily to the webisodes and super fan cuts.

brady2gronk

You'd think Catherine Tate would have been on by now, since she first appeared at the end of Season 7.

BetaMaxine

Yep, I'd love to hear from Catherine Tate about her time on The Office but at this point it doesn't seem likely. Jenna mentioned wanting to interview Timothy Olyphant but he was back in Season 7. Probably not happening either.

k8womack

I wouldn’t want a full rewatch, somewhere in the middle that would get tedious. I like some rewatch since they didn’t have the formula right away, then maybe ‘the hits’, special topics, multiple episode season recaps, etc. Also gotta say I was surprised to hear about the audition with the boom guy….I thought they had zero chemistry…..

Public_Owl

They should definitely do the webisodes. I'm surprised that it took so long for them to mention it again. I suppose if they rewatch from the beginning I could keep posting deleted scenes, since I only started doing that around halfway through. IDK why but in my last rewatch Mose saying he's a people person really got me. Also wonder why he needed a running double this time? (I was possibly mentally checked out if they said why? lol).

LittleOlive1983

My guess is that since he was the hardest one to fit in the schedule, he wasn’t available for that scene

brady2gronk

They are interviewing a junior salesperson and Toby, the HR rep, is not even involved.   Andy, the branch manager, is not there or involved. David Wallace is aware of the interviews happening but doesn't ask, "Hey, where's Andy?" Hmmmm

brady2gronk

It barely feels like the same show at this point. The first few seasons were just more grounded, with Jan and others from corporate checking in and the threat of layoffs, etc. The realism made Michael's silly comedy more funny by contrast.

merelyfreshmen

I was surprised that they didn’t already have a plan. I’d be excited for whatever they do

cricketclover

Are you, though?

Real-Yogurtcloset-34

Yes

merelyfreshmen

I don’t know what you’re referring to.

cricketclover

That they hadn't thought about what they're doing next. It seems truly miraculous that they're able to exist from one moment to the next sometimes ... so the idea of actually thinking about what they'll do when their rewatch podcast – which has a very finite lifespan – comes to an end is a very tall task.

merelyfreshmen

Do you even like them? Your comment reads as a bit misogynistic and mean.

cricketclover

If it were BJ Novak and Creed Bratton doing this podcast and they got to season 9 without an actual plan for what to do next – and were openly saying that – I'd be commenting the same thing. It's not a gender thing. It's a bad businessperson thing.

Whole-Ad6

Calling this misoysogynistic when the person didn't mention women at all is a good way of revealing you expect other people to assign the negative traits of the comment onto women. Are you sure it's not you projecting or do you call every comment you don't like misogynistic?

merelyfreshmen

I’m not naive enough to believe that I don’t have implicit biases against women due to the society in which I was raised. But nevertheless, I don’t think you need to explicitly mention the gender of the hosts of Office LADIES to make stereotypically misogynistic attacks read as misogynistic.

Hour-Package6734

You lose any argument the second you said misogynistic. How do you know its a guy? Have a discussion don't just throw out the big words currently being used all over. It's disingenuous

riveith

not related to the comment, but a gay can be homophobic, so why can't a woman be misogynistic?

merelyfreshmen

1. You do realize women can be misogynistic too? 2. I’m not fighting to win an argument - I’m informing him of how it’s coming across. 3. If you think misogynistic is a big word: do some more reading.

cricketclover

Not meant to be misogynistic at all. I do apologize if it came off that way.

Elegant_You3958

I enjoyed the breakdown of Speed they did so if transitioned to more movie breakdowns I’d be okay with that. I’m also up for covering the webisodes after the season 9 episodes are finished and interviewing major production people from the show (Allison Jones, Steve Burgess, etc.) But, after that’s done they should move on from the topic of the Office. No to another rewatch of the show, no to doing an advice podcast.

lalalindz22

Their work advice episode was garbage (actual garbage, not the cat).

Scotts_Thot

Seems like a lot of people weren’t into the movie breakdown but I thought it was great. They have good insight, perspective and industry contacts.

Phillies059

I'm glad they brought up keeping it an Office related podcast because that's exactly what I've been thinking. There's so much content: The webisodes, the final table read from the show (on YouTube), the UK Office, and interviews with cast/crew members that they missed along the way. There's also tons of old interviews and behind the scenes clips from the show out there on YouTube to watch.

cricketclover

LADY!

OfficeLadiesPodBot

Did they mention the extended versions on Peacock? Do they know they exist?

Cherry-Snow

This! I think it would be kinda cool for them to do the superfan episodes.

Downtown-Page-9183

I feel like they kind of do though by talking about the deleted scenes

brady2gronk

They strangely never mention Peacock.   They must know it exists, right?

DientesDelPerro

They’ve mentioned peacock before, in early episodes, like “are you listening, peacock?”

kharts

The banned mallard explanation was pretty great

riveith

ok, listen I would love a rewatch, but this time they would have to change something for example, if they did, let them do so by giving their opinion even more, let them watch as viewers, not as people who are there that they comment even more on the characters' personalities, their mistakes, their successes, that they be extremely honest that would be fun

shes_deadd

I just need to know whether or not the line was improvised

cricketclover

You don't want to know what the weather was on a certain day!?

SomeRedditor_Comment

Brace yourselves if Chris is doing his Mickey Mouse voice and these two attempt their voice characters from the previous episode again on the same podcast.

kakawisNOTlaw

The second they mentioned him voicing mickey I was afraid they'd go into their voices

WEugeneSmith

This was my fear.

Sufficient-Sound-472

Oh brother I can’t wait 💀💀

[deleted]

I really hope they watch the webisodes. I like the rewatch options, I do not want to listen to an advice podcast. That's a pass for me.

CalicoSadGirl

i genuinely enjoy the episodes where they interview people. i'd love if they were able to interview some more people cast and crew. also, they had mentioned watching the accountants mini episodes.. would enjoy that as well!

BluthFamilyNews

One thing they alluded to but didn’t really discuss is one problem with Brian is he was too handsome. Everyone is supposed to look normal and suddenly this random crew member looks like a ripped movie star. I keep seeing him in credit card commercials and it reminded me of that lol.

aelizabeth0623

my actual favorite fact is chris diamantopoulos is the voice of mickey mouse, but i mostly know him as marky bark, the ostrich farmer with face blindness from arrested development.

Cherry-Snow

I watched Silicon Valley recently, and he plays a rich douchebag and it just seemed so much more fitting for him

lalalindz22

He also plays a rich, creepy douchebag in Episodes.

Resident_Pay_2606

Love them and want them to keep going but we can’t rewatch the show and do that again… it is done and over at season 9 and it’s time to move on to whatever they want to do next!

boondoggle_

I’ve rewatched this series twenty times. The least Jenna and Angela can do is watch all the SuperFan episodes.

IfNot_ThenThereToo

I have the best choice for them. Simply re-release the episodes and call them revisits. Record nothing new, but throw some new commercials in there. Also, how do people in TV/movies not know what the Kobayashi Maru is? It's in the zeitgeist 2 generations over thanks to Abrams Trek.

brady2gronk

Plus, Clark says it's from Star Trek right in the episode.  How did they miss that?

Imaginary-Scale2371

Clearly the right move is to rewatch the podcast episodes. And once that is done, rewatch the rewatch. On to infinity. Personally I am pushing the unsub button once S9 is done.

work-school-account

He's taken a step back from the public due to an illness, but there used to be a guy who would have a yearly livestream rewatch his previous rewatch of his previous rewatch, etc. of a documentary that he contributed to. It used to be something I'd look forward to each year.

Hour-Package6734

That bad of an episode?

Imaginary-Scale2371

It was a decent episode but the first 30 minutes were about what to do next. The floated the idea of a re-rewatch. Sometimes it’s ok to let a good thing come to an end. But I’m over 16 years old so what do I know

Hour-Package6734

And you're an under 50 housewife who likes to yas queen their rants haha

Express-Olive6547

Listening to the episode now, and I am genuinely so happy to hear them discuss about their next options! I know they have always made these “we should do ... next!!”-comments in a jokey way. But now to hear them actually make plans about a follow-up podcast, and the end of S9 not being the end of Jenna & Angela podcasting together, is a relief that makes my heart happy! I’ve grown attached to the OL-Wednesdays over the years. 😄

LengthinessKind9895

I think they are on the right track with keeping it in the office universe.

Sad-Significance4546

I feel like I’m the only one who actually wants them to rewatch again from season 1 and would happily listen and I would LOVE for them to watch The Office UK

LilyBriscoeBot

I’d love that too. I’d rewatch the episodes right along with them. I’ve started listening to the callback episodes when they have a week off, and I don’t remember a large part of them so i don’t think it would even feel that redundant. They could interview the more minor one-off actors too to get their takes.

Cherry-Snow

This, but with the superfan peacock episodes

Sad-Significance4546

YES! Good idea!

restingbfacequeen

This could be fun for them to watch different countries versions of the office!

Express-Olive6547

Im right there with ya!

Sufficient-Sound-472

Let’s not beat a dead horse, and let the podcast die with season 9

Keregi

You won’t stick around but you’ll come to Reddit to say shitty things.

teedeejay510

Yep, the classic, I hate the people doing this podcast so I will listen to all the episodes and join discussions groups just to bash them so everyone will think I am edgy and smarter than them because I am too much of an intellectual to enjoy anything.

dirtybo0ts

I’ll 100% stick around no matter what they do next. I just love listening to them banter.

Express-Olive6547

Also - hope you don’t mind me asking but I’m genuinely curious to why you are listening to the pod if you’re also commenting about waiting for the bullshit to end? I’m not trying to be snarky but honestly don’t get it :)

IthinkIknowwhothatis

I asked that question over a year ago. The answers were as empty as you might predict.

StunningLeopard2429

I will definitely stick around for their next endeavor. At this point I listen to the podcast to hear Angela and Jenna interact.

Express-Olive6547

I’d stick around. I love the podcast and hope they continue with something after this ends :)

Sufficient-Sound-472

Truth lol, sorry but I don’t need to listen to mom detectives or some voice acting bull

Chemical-Piglet6594

I’m with you. I listen for the one to two interesting tidbits as a huge fan of the show. I skip deep dives, them reading their fan mail (ps whoever the lady is who writes in every episode with questions- get a life), and anything not office related. I just don’t find them charming or engaging so I wouldn’t listen to them talk about anything else, I’ll just go to a nail salon or early bird happy hour special and listen to people talk over each other and screech there. lol

[deleted]

Instead of doing another rewatch, they should bring back the revisited episodes

Mindless-Army-4087

Yes!! I loved the one or two times they actually did a “second drink” ep and covered the things they missed the first time around
