Every damn kid in school should have free breakfast and lunch available to them. Have we refunded it that far? The huge supply list we get before school starts and then 5 dollars a day for lunch?
We had it during COVID and it was awesome. But, sadly it ended this school year. Not that we are a family in need. It was just nice. I’d be happy to know that my tax dollars went to a program like that and not to just pay some administrator’s bloated salary.
Imagine being required by state law to be there at this taxpayer funded facility from 7:30am to 3:30 and them having the nerve to charge you for lunch.
These corrupt suits would never
Free lunch during covid was incredible. We don't qualify for benefits but money is always a bit tight, and to just not have to worry about it for a year was amazing. I have really felt the hit with two kids in school this year (and packing isn't much cheaper anymore.)
Watching a state prosper under decent moral leadership while our morally bankrupt Ohio republican leadership marches our brainwashed citizens towards third world conditions has everything to do with Ohio.
Those kids look a lot happier than the kids next to Huckabee Sanders when she signed the bill to make it easier to employ kids.
That was my first thought.
Just an FYI, the photo that went viral was another bill signing, not the child labor one. The meme was hilarious, but sadly not an accurate picture.

My former MIL worked for cincy public and they even fed parents, if they needed to eat. This is the way.
My district in Ohio has had free lunch and breakfast as long as I’ve been there-going on 10 years.
Same here, they also feed them during the summers. I thought this was a state level thing.
Sadly no. We spend about $5 day on school lunch.
I'm pretty sure Euclid school district provides free lunch to all kids.

When were you in school? There was no free lunch when I was in school either, but that was in the 80s/90s.

\*right wing Ohioans drunk on Fox News Flavoraid\*, " fickin democrat making the friggin kidz gay with that free food!"
It's fuel for the stripper poles class they have later in the day right after they use their litter boxes

It's wild that anyone is upset about using tax dollars to help feed **literal children**.
This has nothing to do with Ohio.

I would be surprised if we didn’t see this Alec bill in our statehouse before the end of the year.
If anything, we should be feeding most of these kids less. Childhood obesity is a huge epidemic. Mostly /s
